@trainmandan05 Yes it is. These locomotives came with both whistle and air horn. If you would like to hear it being used, search "SP 4449 air horn." There are some good ones of the crew blowing it to get people back from the tracks when they stopped in Naperville.
I was chasing the 765 on that Saturday. My first ever chase and I enjoyed. I learned not only to get a good shot but also to stay out of the way of others.
Ya, chasing can be a blast. An event that has a BIG steam engine will have plenty of people around, so shoot them too (I mean film them) Do your best to work with others, stay off things like signals, train car roofs, etc. And do not run out into everybodys set up shot at the last monemt. That could be really dangerous. lol
Your videos are perfect :) Your camera placement is remarkable; you know what is going to happen way before it does. Timing is everything. Hours of work on your part gives us all the best in less than ten minutes. Thank you so much for your patience, wisdom, and HD Videography. Wiping tears of joy away from eyes, now. =^.^=
Thanks. A good tripod designed to be used with a video camera is essential. Knowing what will happen before it does - not always. I just try to concentrate on what I am shooting and try to find something interesting to go with the train. Like a bridge, silo, people, etc. The real work is in the editing. Don't be afraid to cut out footage that you may think is good to keep the video interesting and moving along. There's nothing worse than boring your viewers.
well what did you expect people who have never seen this locomotive in Michigan.....they just never learn that some trains aren't like toys that you can get close to (like SP 4449). These can really severely hurt or even kill you.
I talked to some of the employees at the festival and they had a really hard time when they tried to get people away from the tracks when the 4449 ran Thursday and Friday.....I was shocked at how many people they had to tell on Saturday to get off the tracks...sheesh

Great video. I especially enjoyed the Daylight coming around the grain elevator at 4:33. Great shot from the outside of the track.

That's me once again.
I am fascinated by the perfection of this movie.
It seems you had a script to play, and
everything ran accordingly, as if it was rehearsed. Congratulations for this nice job.
