EDGE! That's the friendly name. It's EGPRS which came before 2G or 3G, at least here in Thailand. It's like mobile data transfer tech and without it I couldn't live in Thailand for 5 years because most of their adsl is no good. I use my mobile phone connected to notebook by USB cable and get 50-200kbps downloads. 50-120 up. I could not live without it! Waiting for 3G...

Like Chris, I'd have to say the internet, with my laptop a close second. Ever since I discovered the internet, it has been my source of entertainment, my source of news, my main ways of communication and interaction with my friends and people all around the world. I couldn't picture myself living without the internet - I made it a part of me.

As for the laptop...going Mac was probably the best choice I've ever made, while checking every one in a while what MS is up to. And I'm lovin Win 7 lol

Not until recently that I got an iPhone, no. It's still a shock to me that I can have the internet virtually anywhere - I can basically leave my Mac at home and I won't be disconnected from the internet. Why, I have it at the palm of my hand! :)

Yeah, I hear you. It seems like yesterday that I had to watch the news or read newspapers to get the latest news - now I can get everything on the internet, probably even faster than what radio delivers it...

It would be my laptop, I couldn't do without it because I make a living with it by programming. I also couldn't do without it because it would be harder to find raw food recipes and connect with individuals who share the same ideas with me. On top of that, I do most of my shopping, writing, coding, social networking, and business over that too. So without it I would be rendered helpless and jobless. I guess I could go live in Hawaii and become a beach bum and surf the rest of my life. haha.

I program using both actually. PC and Mac. I triple boot Mac OS X, Windows Vista, and Sabayon Linux. I could be a Beach Nerd. lol That away I wouldn't look like a pale white vampire. haha. Its 105 degrees outside so I am far from being pale at the moment.

I have a question sort of related to this video. I used to live in Pearl City, but I was a kid and I have forgotten. Is there ALWAYS a good breeze on Waikiki beach?? I live in Florida now, and there is not always a nice breeze in the gulf of Mexico.

I am in Tampa. I lived in Clearwater for 15 years though, closer to the Gulf. Here we have a causeway beach, but it's still not far to drive to Clearwater Beach. I moved here because I had to be near the ocean after living in Hawaii. I lived on Fort Weaver Road when it was just 2 lanes. And on Pupu St. in Pearl City.
