The best version of this song is he one he recorded with his band Rise Electric a year or two before going to compete on this show.

The Supernova version suck. Gilby Clark has never been a Metal Guitarrist. The version on the album was stripped down, Gilby made it sound whimpy. The house band version is the closest to the original.

BTW the Rise Electric album is just amazing. Songs like Crave Me, Lonely Ones and Headspin are simply post-grunge masterpieces.

I saw him play a solo show in Baltimore this past summer. The guy is legit! He put on a really great show. There is no reason he shouldn't be fronting a serious signed band. He's certainly got the talent and charisma. There are so many lame bands out there that are signed, it doesn't make sense when a guy like him comes around and doesn't take off.
