  • My grandfather served in the US Navy in WWII and was in Japan for their surrender. I am very proud if him and he is still alive today at age 95. I also served 6 years of easy duty from 1982-1988. Not enough can be said of that generations contributions to the freedoms that most take for granted today. Bless You All!

  • As an American and son of a US Navy veteran, Thank You, Royal Navy, and Salute!

  • God bless the Royal Navy....Exellent up load thanks ....

  • This is a kinda silly observation but the british come up with the best names for there naval ships

  • the world is lucky we had the royal navy and all of the british armed services in those very critical war years, the world would be a very different place without them. the royal navy and the british army stood along for nearly two years

  • senior service , god protect every heart of oak that serve under her !

  • Stop correcting this documentary, if you are British, don' correct it, be proud to be the same nationality of this heroes, best navy in the world.

  • makes me proud to be british watching that...

  • Great documentary. And God bless the Royal Bavy

  • A Documentary i remember very well, i give it 9/12 overall.

(there are several mistakes made by the narrator, quoting we had 15 Battleships & Battlecruisers in 1939 when it was attually 16 for example).

All together though a very reasonable & infomative Tribute to the Royal Navy in WWII.

  • God bless RN i have much respect .... for you

  • So sad to think today the RN has no capital ships, barely a coast guard

  • @bv141a No capital ships? I think nuclear submarines count as the modern day equivalent of capital ships.

  • Hell lot of lie

  • @AnukeyaJit What lies would that be?

  • @SuperAncientmariner Lies like saving the free world crap.

  • @vk45de Do explain. I'm intrigued.

  • I wonder if our navy still has it in them and the boats

  • splendid series...bravo!

  • Excellent series as a tribute to the heroes of the Royal Navy.

Do any "British" politicians, that corrupt gang of marxist traitors, liars and thieves, watch these vdo's? Those self-serving weasels and cowards are not fit to polish the boots of any of these patriots .

  • Drake and Nelson would be proud.

  • in terms of naval power with numbers of battleships, carriers, air, anti air armament and gunnery armament. the royal navy comes in third place in comparison to the U.S and Japan.

  • The bit about the wooded flight decks was a bit off. The larger US carriers at that time had steel flight decks, though the Jeep carriers did not.

  • @jasonkolo No, it was spot on . All US carriers at that time had wooden decks.

  • Brilliant,My Grandfather served on HMS kent and made friends with guys from all over the United Kingdom.

  • we were japed by the dirty nips.

  • why did the guineas surrender?

  • Even at a remove of 65 years, it still gives me cold chills when I think of the heroism and sacrifice of those men during those six dreadful years! God bless the Royal Navy!

  • fuckinghell im so proud of those royal navy bulldogs

  • I do like these Royal ship designs

  • salute the royal navy! british bulldogs!

  • Rule Britannia!

  • Woah! Those guys on the deck (5:37) almost got hit by that kamikaze plane as it was going down! That is freaky

  • It's about Britain's ROYAL NAVY. Of course it is!

  • Excellent documentairy.

lt shows the main contribution of the British during WW2; the Royal Navy.

  • in 22 November 1944 the British Pacific Fleet was assembled and consisted of;

The fleet included 17 aircraft carriers, four battleships, 10 cruisers, 40 destroyers, 18 sloops, 13 frigates, 35 minesweepers, other kinds of fighting ships, and many support vessels.

is this documentary wrong or am i?

  • i think the aircraft carrier numbers are incorrect since they only had 7

  • THey probably count light carriers as well.

  • Like the US Jeep Carriers

  • @TowerHamletsNeil And now look at it, 1 carrier that has no fighters and cuts being made to it that seem to change daily- lets rebuild the RN and have something to be proud of

  • God Bless the Royal Navy. Thanks for all you did and continue to do.
