It is very difficult to understand why the US alone hasn't stopped this.  I remember seeing a tv programme about these problems. One of the leaders of expansion in Israel was a woman, and then an "ordinary" jewish man was interviewed. His attitude w\as completely different and he wanted to live in peace with his palestinian neighbours, and blamed the expansionists for all the trouble, and the threat of civil war in Israel.
