  • THIS WAS TERRIBLE

YOU GUYS MADE ME WANNA THROW UP MY LUNCH

    YOU GUYS SUCK (ASS)

I HOPE YOU GO TO THE JUNGLE AND GET BITTEN BY POISONUS MONKEYS JUST BECAUSE WHAT YOU DID TO MY EARS

BECAUSE OF YOU GUYS I WENT BLIND AND NOW IM DEAF

  • ...

  • Sarah had a wonderful voice! Adelaide had a decent voice and was great with expression but that squeaking distracted from what could have been a good performance.

  • the only good thing i could point out in this was the pit

the costumes were god awful and not time appropriate and adelaide's hair wasnt either and the squeeking was too much and it just overall was a poor performance

  • yeah the choreography is terrible. the squeaks are a bit too much. adelaids costume isn't the right time period and sarah looks like a flight attendant.

ps: just because you do professional theater doesn't mean you have to be good.

  • Squeaks are too much, but really it's the costumer I have the most issue with - why in God's name is she wearing and 80's PROM dress?! I get that costuming can be hard on a smaller budget, but come ON.....

  • she overdid the squeaks that adelaide always does.

  • ive seen the play

  • I find it to fast and neither have very good voices, well they might it's just they don't fit this song very well...

  • It is just the song because the girl playing Adelaide does professional theatre now and the girl playing Sarah can be heard in the Once On This Island videos.

  • my biggest issue with this is the choreography. and i know, it is not the performers fault.

  • Adelaid is very squeeky.

  • adelaide keeps on squeaking and singing off pitch, which gets kind of annoying. I really like sarah though. she has a deep, rich voice.

  • Adelaide is screaming the song she's not singing it. However, Sarah is not bad at all.

  • i liked sarah's voice!

  • wow, uh, i thought i wuld love any version of this play. i guess i was wrong. The set is gross, the singing was okay though.

  • We hated the set too. Really hated it.

  • To the previous put- downers: This is a good show and I like the singers, after all, my high school is doing Guys and Dolls right now and that's why I would like any version of the show.

  • I should point out that the girl playing Sarah is 14 in this so she has had time to grow vocally since then.

  • adelaide was too squeaky, and the costume was to shiny

    the set was cheap

sarah wasnt a good enough singer

and the last note made my ears bleed

  • The set was cheap and the costumes were cheap because it was a low budget production that has literally no funding. All the money comes from the participants. Its not a school.

  • you'd think even a LITTLE money would get better costumes

    you dont need anything complicated

besides, no one expects a good set/costume design when the performers suck ass anyway

  • Well all the kids bought their own costumes. The mission costumes came from a school that did Guys and Dolls.

The performers, while not in their best, do not complete suck. They could be far worse and they were young. This was 4 years ago. Both girls are wonderful singers now and are in good Musical Theatre programs in college.

  • dancing is awkward

Sara has a voice with potential but not quite

    Adelaide is okay

but should be a stronger singer

  • wat school is this

  • Its not a school/

  • ugh. this is awful:D

my school did it MUCH better ;)

lol im mean. no but adelaide was squeeky, the costume was too modern, and the set was cheap XD

  • This wasn't a school. It was a very low budget summer youth production. Our school shows have a much larger budget. This show is only funded by the cast memebers and the costumes come from the cast.

  • sry, but adelaide's voice was too scweeky (spelling?) and the last note they did in this was off tune. sry, but it is the truth.

  • if you can't spell "squeaky" then i don't think you're in a place to judge....

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

  • i am going to try out 4 adelaide in a few weeks and watched a lot of videos but thin 1 is great!!!

  • i disagree with people who said adelaides voice didn't 'fit' - of course its unnatural, but the character is meant to be! shes meant to be a comic character! i think this is realy nice - well done! and i love the costumes! infact, i love this show, was so much fun when we did it!

  • EVERYTHING about this performance is wrong. adelaide's voice, the costumes, the choreography, everything. sorry to be so harsh, but i have to be honest when all the these people said how good it was.

  • what's wrong with Adelaide's voice out of curiosity... I've done the show and while I didn't play Adelaide, I'd do her voice somewhat similarly... and the only costume thing I can think of is that Adelaide's dress is a little 80's, but Sarah's is spot on.

  • hey I think it was you who had asked in Adelaide was the same girl who had played Belle? I meant to reply but accidentally deleted your comment with the question. The answer is no. Adelaide is the same girl who plays Polly in my Crazy For You videos. The girl who plays Belle is the same girl who plays Ti Moune in OOTI

  • i'm playing adelaide currently, and i just feel that her squeaky, upbeat voice is really pushed and fake. it's not necessarily that the idea is wrong, just the way she's doing it. also, i feel that sarah's outfit is more schoolgirl than missionary. it's not a problem if that's what limited outfits they had to work with, but at the very least sarah's bow makes her look like a girl in uniform. she looks like a waitress.

  • Well Sarah's costume was rented from someplace that had recently done guys and dolls. Adelaides were too. Obviously Adelaide's voice is fake....what Adelaide actually speaks like that out of character? The director just chose to have Adelaide played as being very ditzy and extreme with the accent.

  • Well considering the students costumed it themselves, I'm impressed. Her voice is kind of written INTO the character and always done that way in every broadway/west end version of the show.... so you can't really fault the girl for it.

  • they costumed it themselves, great. but that doesn't mean that adelaide couldn't have worn a slightly more period dress. also, with her voice, this is what i mean: her inflections on WHEN she should squeak are unnatural. i know the "voice" is written into the script, and obviously i don't expect that she speaks like that out of character, but her character's voice is so low that not only do her squeaks not make sense, but they're in completely unnatural places. that's what makes it fake.

  • Well. I disagree. I'm quite impressed for kids that age. VERY impressed.

  • if you really wanna be impressed check out Walt Whitman High School's Guys and Dolls

  • lemme guess... you were involved with that production? lol

  • no. my friend played sarah, and its really good.

  • doesn't that make you involved with the production? lol But I'll look for it

  • oh man i watched every vid, from guys and dolls (trying out for sarah in a couple weeks) and walt whitman is definately the best out there :)

  • That was really good! I really liked the background and the costumes.

  • hey tellthestory, is Adelaide the same girl as Ti Moune from Once On This Island?

  • No. She was not in OOTI. But if you look at my Beauty and the Beast videos, Belle is the same girl as Ti Moune. The girl playing Sarah, however, was Asaka in OOTI.

  • Fantastic job!

  • I love this song, and the two girls performing here are good. I was in this production when I was at school too...it rocks.
