  • this ILLNESS ruins lives, it kills. it is real, the brain is an ogan like any other in the body. If you have experienced what this ILLNESS is like you would never ever doubt it

  • Im 41 and just found out ive been living with manic depression bipolar, im almost happy that at least i know but pissed that ive wasted so many years, no relationships, no career, alcoholism ,homelessness , i knew i had issues in certain social situations but it is bad

mine was caused by an abusive step father and a selfish enabling lying mother that tolerated and participated in the abuse, i have no relationship with family, somethings WONT be forgiven, but i can get better now

  • @dsnfldgfds thing I hope you realize that people with clinical depression have it worse than you, as far as people with bi polar there life is highs and lows, as a person who has clinical depression my life is nothing but lows, even though your moods fluctuate from high to low you still get your highs

  • @sjm8890 thanks?

  • when i saw your post, please help me. I really feel for you because I have said that so many times with prayers. I'm not going to into this because I've posted allot already. yes their is pills that will help people like us. I believe in scientology. honstly their is no god, religion is out their to corrupt peoples minds with make believe information. I am thinking about getting a witch board just to proove this fact. in the mean time. prayer doesn't help. I believe in scientology

  • have you heard of orthomolecular medicine? I'm not positive if it is the awnser but perhaps it can help!

  • Hi, my name is Ana Tardin i'm bipolar. what help's me the more is my psychiatrist (relation of trust it other)and the medicine i take. I took like 5 years to get well. But the secret is to get best medicine. and each one needs some kind of specific medicine, so it will work differently on each person, I'll try to makr the best video I can of my experience as a bipolar, I wish you the best. xxx

Please do keep in touch. My email is aninhabluecristal@yahoo.com.br

  • It is so sad for all involved. They cannot help what they do but the other person has to deal with all of it also This is where I think our Medical Field has failed us. Illness is Illness and yet doc's today seem very complacent about treatment. My mom is bi polar and I have a friend that is bipolar.I have seen it and it is difficult to be around people that are bipolar. I also married a Sociopath so I've been around many destructive people it's hard on all involved. I wish her well.

  • I know someone that is Manic Bipolar with very few depressive episodes. To me it is like they are on speed and they can go from subject to subject like a ping pong ball. They are very very hard to be around because they are exhausting to listen to.They also seem to grow stories & exagerate the truth but not intentionally. It's like everything they see or think is of equal importance. All things seem huge to them. A gold fish has the same importance as mass murderer. If that makes sense.

  • @ RICHARDTOMLEY10, Look i understand it must be horrendous for you getting cancer, but cut this lady some

slack. She must be beside herself to be begging for help. Some bipolar people are suicidal, so please take another look at what you said.

  • ive got advanced cancer will u help me ,no ,look help yourself ,get urself in order u dont know how lucky u r

  • schizophrenians com

  • I have bi-polar.

I also have 10 special needs.

The bi-polar, i think, is the worst. Especially the extreme low moods that i can get with it.

My prayers with all others who suffer with it.

  • You don't have to go through this anymore. I use to suffer with this for years. Check out my channel. God bless...

  • Hi Jessyca423, I am thinking of using your video for my class presentation for bipolar.. may I ask your permission?

  • you have a very soothing voice :)

  • To all Bi-Polar people: it's not your fault. The dynamics of your family's secrets created bi-polar in you. it's nothing personal against you, it's just the matters of circumstance and you got the shittiest hand of cards delt. Your family will never admit the truth so accept this and try to talk to "bipolarorwakingup" video's on youtube. peace and love xoxo

  • i dont trust anyone in my family

  • Religion sometimes has a lot to do with it.

  • why do you say that?

  • I very much hope your friend is doing better, even though, I think once bipolar has manifested itself, it is a condition that needs to be handled to the rest of one's life. Good friends and understanding family is very important.

  • bipolar affective disorder is a chemical imbalance, as serious as diabetes, and needs to be treated as a physical illness.

  • Pysch drugs ruined my life.

I'm doing great now: good nutrition, testing for nutritional deficiencies, exercise, meditation, low-stress lifestyle, etc., that's the solution.

Good place to start: The Natural Medicine Guide to Bipolar Disorder (The Healthy Mind Guides) by Stephanie Marohn, on Amazon.

  • right on. i was diagnosed at age 19. fell for the bullshit and took pharmecudical garbage and was in and out of looney bins until i was 23. i decided i had enuff and too the natural route, lots of nutrients, amino acids and such, organic diet and meditation and im 25 now no signs of it for almost 3 years. good call. keep it up . peace

  • I was Bipolar for 25 years ...now psych drug free ..thanks to "Truehope" google it ...you won't regret it.

    All the best in 2009

  • theres a video are here about a guy whos son was bipolar and he took pig feed you have to watch this video i think its under Truehope try that its very interesting i truly believe what you eat and takeing proper vitamines help so much i have been on every drug there is for bipolar it got so bad i over dossed on lithiumn i though by takeing more would help me to come out of my spin now i cant walk it messed my balance up i almost died last year and still cant walk

  • I have had Bipolar for years what i find helps is take vitamins like ogega3 and stay away from fat food like hambgers things like that fat will make you feel like crap but i would realy look into vitamines that are good for your brain and the way you eat it realy makes a difrance i know how your feeling it sucks

  • people can tell you how bipolar makes them feel, but they can never tell you how it makes someone else feel. just look at the different reactions of everyone who has made comments. to attempt to understand what your friend is going through you need to ask them straight up

  • Dark: You're the epitome of the person who doesn't understand what it's like to be diagnosed with a mental illness in adulthood. Yes, bipolar is very treatable. The problem is that most of us aren't diagnosed until we're in our thirties (if that) and so much damage has already been done that our lives are messed up. The condition gets treated, but the screwed up life is still screwed up. It's like a broken leg. If you don't treat it right away and properly, the bone stays twisted.

  • rite you are i have been treated for athsma for years cos i was getting anxiuos, i get treated for depression , i hvea life, i cant have a relationship cos i either obsses or dont care, when i take antidepressants but miss all my thoughts as having 1 thought at a time seems unatrual, when manic my thoughts are like a pack of cards shufled and i cant seperate my thoughts without forgetting things, still waiting to be properly diagnosed and very scared get drunk 2sleep and cant go on like this.

  • Its a very treatable condition my ass, I have been on so many different meds that only half work or dont work at all some people are more worse than others you cant judge them all under one "umbrella" Some people cannot be treated by a pill and everythings all right, there is no such thing as a miracle pill.

  • Why not get some medication? Its a very treatable condition. Less talk, more action. Help yourself, others making video isn't going to alter the chemical imbalance that has put you in this state of mind. In fact, your desire to hear from others aboout this on youtube, is(most likely) a symptomatic reaction to your disorder.

  • People like you make me really angry. I have Bipolar, and you make it sound so simple to live with, when actually sometimes it's hell. What this lady has done is very admirable and shows how much she loves her friend. You think the solution is to be pumped with pills? Please. That's only one small aspect of it all. Emotions, and support come into it too you know.

  • The tag of the video is BI-POLAR..no wonder

why there would be some strange comments lol

We love ya, sweet Jessyca, brave lady!

  • you should just kill yourself and get it over with bitch, i hope you die of aids

  • Good god, what the hell is wrong with you? You should never wish ill of anyone, especially someone who is suffering so much.

  • Dear jeterhata2004, I checked out your profile and my instincts were correct: people that leave stupid or hateful comments usually dont have any of their own videos to show. I hope your spoken curses dont dome back to you, or you will be one sick person.

  • @jeterhata2004 How about you get your clitter cleaned out and suffocate yourself with your own STD you dumbfuck.

  • @sum166 how about I find you, strap you to an operating table hands and legs. knock you out. delimb your arms and legs up to your torso and remove you testicles and wait until you wake up and stand in front of you as you are behind held up by a musical stand and say "Ok now what are you going to do jeterhata? attack me I dare you? lol. fuck off loser

  • I have friend was gonna get rid of her cause she is so mean to mean always insulting me making up lies about me .she told me her Dr. said she might be bi polar now instead of running should I stay friends with her ?? what I dont know is is it bi polar that makes her this way ??

  • bmorebaby76: Hey--NO, bipolar does not make somebody lie and it is no excuse for insults --real (nonjoking) insults --evenif they are irratible---Bipolars (like me) are cool. Just remember --we are people --there is no ASSHOLE or VIOLENT or ABUSIVE disease. This is no friend. Lay it on the line and if she keeps up the bullshit --stop being around the person. Most bipolars are cool just like evrybody else--we are great friends and people all around --I think you found an ass -period.

  • see my video, bipolar disorder my story.

  • this is funny

  • eat a peice of fruit!

  • I have a friend with rapid-cycling bi-;polar Type 2. If there anyone out there that can give him information, or suggest a help site.

  • Hey--53531640--tell your friend not to get too much medication --some of it destroys. Bipolar2 is not as bad as one. Best advice --if he/she rapid cycles just remember you'll feel good real soon--enjoy the good times when they CAN be enjoyed--thats all people can do.

  • I am bipolar with anxiety disorder...I think its great for people to learn about this, its so misunderstood, and we are so judged by many. I don't know how to make a video, or I would. I'll just say, having bipolar affects every aspect of your life everyday and its really a hard thing to live with.

  • You are a beautiful person, most people do not want to learn about the problems that exist of the chaos of a loved one with bipolar.Your freind is really lucky to have you!Don't be hurt if she doesn't notice the effort you put into finding info on bipolar, forgets your birthday, etc.I find posts by reshmecka or Spilok helpful. Also, more often than not, many other diagnoses come with Bipolar in my case OCD, agoraphobia, major depressive disorder. Thanks for letting us know people like you exist!

  • no she isn't! shes fat and ugly!

  • You are gonna be short of great freinds! Good luck!

  • fuck you

  • Dear Brokenwonder, I checked out your profile and my instincts were correct: people that leave stupid or hateful comments usually dont have any of their own videos to show. Your favourite video section is full of violence and death.... so I am presuming your that sort of person. Go get a life.

  • I will be posting a video response to this soon answering your inquiries in regards to the misery of Bi-polar disorder. please wait for it!

  • get well soon........

  • my advice if its to hard to cope with use choke your self till you pass out then when you wake up you feel better

  • Bi-polar disorder is serious issue in our society. Please take the time to watch Generation Meds, a documentary on how to cope with mental illness and question the effectiveness of prescribed medication. You can watch it online for free, just check out our page for more info!

  • Thankyou so much for asking, T\he lady in question has put herself in hospital. People have been so kind giving me advice but now I think I will close it up unless friends keep it going. I know I have learnt so much. I think its wonderful how we canz all learn from each other.

God Bless you in every way

I STILL GET MY LOWS,BUT I TRY TO TRICK MY BRAIN THAT IT'S NOT GOING TO GET THE BEST OF ME.

  • You're an extremely lovely lady.I have just seen this video, but if you'd still like to talk to someone with experience of BiPolar Affective Disorder, feel free to PM.

  • I'm writing an autobiography about my experience with Bipolar Disorder, which I've had from childhood. I'm about 1/3 the way done. When I'm finished, I will consider making a video, reading some excerpts from my book with explanation. I started the book about a month ago, and should be finished by late January. I've had quite a colorful life so far.

  • Dear realnoid, I am so very happy for you that you found the grace to overcome a crippling disease, fear. Not normal fear, but a fear that never leaves you alone. With God's help, I have been progressing to a higher degree of comfort through the grace of God and it helps to know about other people.

  • Depression is stemmed from lack of Vitamin B (all of them) It is your body going into shock!

    It is a scientific fact

  • I agree. Your body is telling you it needs something. Proper nutrition, exersize, and plenty of rest. Vitamins are critical especially at a later age. Drugs should only be used in extreme conditions until the underlying causes are identified and fixed. Drugs are not a fix. just my opinion. I am not an expert but I use common since which is rare anymore.

  • I have scz which has similarities to BP.

Mental problems tend to have physical

    manifestations. Adrenal insufficiency,

    malabsorbtion, systemic yeast, thyroid.

I work on 1 physical problem at a time

with and alt physician. Kinda like reverse

    engineering. Young people might not

manifest physical problems to the point of being easily detected but they are there.

  • Have you tried looking at your diet? As an example, They are finding out that artificial sweetners are causing major physical and mental illness. Proper nutrition may be the key to a healthy life. Excersize can help deliviate stress and Axiety dishorder also. I dont think pills are the only answer to recovery. Just my opinion.

  • Your a great lady and mate to her. I get moods that swing from low to high in the same day. We are all at our stages.

    I wish you the best

  • I have a similar disease. Recently I had the feeling of what it was like to be "normal". My body was actually relaxed. I could see that most of my time outside is spent in a state of frozen terror even though there is no one to be afraid of. It's called "overly sensitive". That doesn't begin to describe it. I don't

take meds and don't have much paranoia any-

more but my body hasn't caught up.

  • Yes, I did. What this person is talking about

and what I had is slightly beyond artificial

sweeteners and casual changes in diet. I had

schizophrenia, adrenal and intestinal problems. I quit alcohol, caffeine and use a simple over the counter supplement beta-

glucan that works on my immunity and gut

    problems. Result? No more paralyzing

anxiety...at least not for everyone to

see which is a minor miracle. The actual

problem will take a year to fix.

  • realnoid,

So what your saying is you changed your diet and you started using an over the counter beta-glucan? And this helped? I dont understand the year comment though. Anyway, I am happy for you if proper eating helped.

I am a firm believer of proper nutrition.

  • Beta-g works on immunity and gut problems. Adrenals and cortisol output take time. My system was running on empty, literally. I wonder how many people with severe mental problems have low cortisol because their adrenals are maxed out? If they do test low or high for it they are then proscribed strong drugs with side effects on top of the psych meds with side effects. Having said that I know that psych meds are necessary for many, many people and it does no good to knock them as much as I do.
  • High levels of cortisol can be controlled. And I am a firm believer that stress can cause alot of mental problems which triggers cortisol.Prolonged levels in the bloodstream have negative effects and will:

    1. Lower your immune system so you'll get sick faster than others

    2. Slow down your thinking

    3. Create blood sugar imbalances

    4. Raise your blood pressure

    5. Weaken muscle tissue

    6. Decrease bone density

    7. Increase fat in the stomach areas

  • So what I am saying is avoid stressful confrontations. If you are in a high stress job, it will catch up with you eventually. This will cause your cortisol level to ecalate too high. This is one of the many underlying causes of poor mental health.

Just one mans opinion. I am not a dr.

  • I know that excessive pop drinking can mess up your sugar balance and cause irreversable damage to your system.(diabetes) Not to mention tooth decay. Caffine also is causing problems along with artificial sweetners. We also need to teach our children proper nutrition in our schools and at home. It is as important as math or Spelling. Our kids are being drugged up at earlier ages and diet is not being looked at.

  • The drug companies are having a hay day with this one and making billions. Not millions but billions. Just my opinion.

  • be nice

  • lol im bipolar but had to laugh at that

  • hi hon- I am bipolar- would love to chat about it-

    fondly; richard

  • I would give up a leg easy to be ''normal'' its that bad.

  • I have BP. It's like you received a shot of a drug that u can't control. It depends on if I'm up or down. Up- I can do anything, laugh, so many ideas, energy, ready to save the world. Sad- it literally feels like the flu, sadness. Just like the ocean have to ride the waves. Understanding why all these things happen is key. Like a storm, I see it coming, lighting wind, but I know it will pass.

  • If you want to know what it feels like to be bi polar! Have a man with a 10 inch knife run around you. Saying hes gonna stab you. Its fear and sadness panic Anger. They Rip at your brain make your body feel sick. You are in control of the crazzy man with the knife. you have to sit back pray he wont kill you. thats best i can explain it !

  • "Not in* control of the crazzy Man" lolz Typo!

  • Bi polar Makes you feel horrable. Body and mind goes to shit after time. Horrable Depression and sadness or Anger and rage, some times things are great! but there always followed by lows. Meds just mask the feelings. they never realy helped me they just Make you not as noticable.

  • Unfortunately, the disorder is a terrible thing to experience and live with from a second hand point of view. If people are on medication like Lithium, they will act completely fine. It helps ease the changes in moods.

  • Not true, sadly. I've taken meds since 98, and know a lot of Bipolar people. There indeed are meds to help control bipolar mood swings and associated behavioral/emotional symptoms, but they don't FIX the patient! Certainly not so much that we will "act completely fine"! All psycho-active meds have side effects, especially in the cognitive areas..A person with mental fog cannot act perfectly normal.

  • No, I apologize, i should have been a bit clearer on that, I should have said more normal than without the medication.

  • My husband handles things pretty well, and we have been married for over 24 years. He has the patience of Job! I see I made a ton of typos on my previous texts...which bothers me, lol...why isn't there an edit button like they have on myspace??

  • I think the hardest about being BP is trying to stay on that even keel whie also trying to be *normal* out there in the workforce, or simply dealing with daily activities. Sometimes I don't even get dressed for the day, and my family (hubby and 3 college kids) never EXPECT dinner, but ae happy when I cook. It all depends on how I feel, or what mood I'm in in the evening.

  • I developed some anxiety and health problems which interfered with my ability to work. Although I lovved my job, and my bos wishes I'd return, I am so relieved.

  • If I feel shitty or blah, I simply stay home and isolate until I feel better. I am very gregarious and strike up conversations and make people laugh often. I have had severe manic attacks where I did some really terrible stuff---spent thousands of dollars, went overboard in the sex department etc....I am artsy and creative, and am NEVER bored. I was just awarded permanent disability.

  • I tend to interrupt and want to control situations--probably out of fear of losing control! I am very esily obsessed with new interests and iddeas---and immerse myself 100% and let everything else go to hell. I plan a lot, start alot, but finish little. This sucks, but then again, I am always doing some neat thing.

  • Hi. I don't have my cam hooked up, and hubby'd hear me anyway and awaken--which would be weird since it's 4:10 AM. Clue #1--UP at 4 am. :) I take meds, and for the most part am happy, esp. when I am doing *good* I have extreme difficulty with organization, planning, and follow-through, even on stuff I WANT to do. I get upset and sometimes become enraged over stupid little stuff, that later sounds ridiculous to even me!

  • Hi there! My ex g/f is bipolar and so I can empathize. Make a myspace page and join some groups there, which can range from all kinds of things: bipolar, depression, mental illness, pretty much everything you can imagine you can find there. Good luck sweetie

  • ur a lovely lady :D gd luck with this - erm the only thing i can add is wen im on a high its like a steamtrain of thought batters thru my head and wen i get low i just wnt to sleep an not eat and shove everyone away atmo its wats happening unfortunately ive lost a gd friend and almost my bf but he's a gd guy - if that dudes gonna b that nasty 2 ur mate thn he doesnt deserve 2 b with such a wonderful person. I hopes that that helped.:) peaceout.

  • Believing in my word. When you frankly and sincerely seeing the mind flows, without any concern and attachment, you'll be liberated so much as you saw them with unaffected liberty of your mind. The liberation of your mind means, there is the new road which connects depression and mania, to the deepest level of emotional district and life-energy area. Believe that you have all sources, for those all you really need. You will gradully notice what is happening in your mind land by yourself.

  • Thankyou so much for taking all this time and trouble in replying to me. I was greatly helped by your reply.

Take care friend and May God Bless you

  • Dear my friend Jessyca. I know that God is helping you. Your'll find out wisdom, love and liberty from your sufferings. You are not a servant of mind, because your Real-Self is Eternal King, Creater and Ruler of your mind-body-land forever.

  • And you may feel some feelings, wandering thoughts, ideas, worries, past thoughts, future staffs, etc, let them appear. But don't attach any of them. They are not real things, They are the memories and dreams of your life. The only real thing that you have is, very related to the your activity of seeing itself.

  • I'm not fluent in English. I want to give you some words-pill for bipolar disorder, which is related to conditioned swinging patterns, mainly emotional and body energy part of men-women's mind-body.

You may select some quiet place and time to be alone. Night before to sleep is good time. You may take any posture which is convinient to you. And take in and out 10 times of your breath as smoothly, mildly, long, spontainyutially as you can.

  • Now you are a true example of humanity. It is nice to have you on our sides. You seem like the kind of person that would do everything you can for another person. What a horrible heartache for this woman.

  • It must be awful for the family too. What a sad situation for both her and the family. Sometimes there is no solution, well not one which is pleasant for everyone. Thankyou for your kind words. God Bless you love xxxx

  • When I was a kid, maybe 12, I had a very good friend whos dad became our training union teacher.(that's Baptist for evening Sunday school.) He was wonderful, excitingly happy, and a joy to be around. Then one Monday he fell into his dark place and killed himself. It was hard for me to understand how he could be sooo happy the day before and then take his life. Mama said he was manic depressive(what they used to call it I think) and explained it, but it really shook me up.

  • Oh Jay love how awful to be a young lad of 12 and not to understand such a tradgedy. What a wonderful thing to have a loving mama who could explain it for you(thats if anyone could explain such a tradgedy) We can fall into a dark place within a moment but Joy cometh in the morning Alleluia xxxx

  • I had a manager working for me a few yrs ago that was bipolar and he was trying to make a months worth of meds last 2 months cuz its expensive. The mood swings were unreal. He became angry at the drop of a hat, and it was like an explosion.I encouraged him to make that medicine a priority because it's a fine balance of the meds that make it work, not a one size fits all, or a little dab will do thing. He did and was like normal.

  • This is exactly what I wanted. To have my friends tell me what it is like. I can read as well as the next woman but to have it explained through a friends eyes makes it so much more clearer somehow. Thankyou love

God Bless you and all who you xxxx

  • I understand there has been much discovered about omega 3 fatty acid and an improvement in depression and bi-polar. It affects the mental well-being of us all. There is lots of reading about it, just do a search on "omega 3 and depression".

  • Thankyou my love. All imformation gratefully received. Take care and God Bless youxxxx

  • I feel sorry for her. People who have never been sick really can't understand what we go through. I will keep Debbie in my prayers.

  • Thankyou so much. The latest news is Debbie is in hospital for her own safety. She will need our prayers for a while. God Bless you love xxxx

  • You're so sweet to be concerned and want to help. I know a few people who are bipolar. One is doing fine the other is having some serious problems right know. It's too bad Debbie's husband left cuz a support system is very important - hopefuly we can help in that regard. Imperative too that she see a doctor and get some effective meds.

  • The news that she is in hospital is good so she can get some meds in place. Its the stories from friends that know about it which are so powerful as otherwise its just the spepective of the scientist whereas its we know they can be way off the mark. Take care and God Bless you love xxxx
