It may sound as a disappointment, but djavan's lyrics doesnt really mean anything, he looks for sounds that make sense with the melody. Probably if you don't understand what it means it'll sound better than for us brazilians.

usually he uses complex words with a lot of meaning so people try to make sense out of this, but more than once djavan already said that he don't really mean anything with his songs

@lebowskip That's just not true at all. What are you talking about? Acai is a very abstract song where your comment may have some truth, but it is not true for most other Djavan songs I have heard. Are you trying to say that the lyrics of "Eu te Devoro" or "Flor de Lis" or "Oceano" or "Alagoas" don't mean anything? If so, you need to listen.

Hi ! I'm not Brasilian, but I follow the Brasilian music since 1979/1980, at the moment I've started to learn Brasilian's songs. Djavan is the musician that I listen the more in a year ; got his 2 songbooks, 12 CDs, 3 DVD of him. This song is the last song that I've recorded, it's really a great song. BYE !

The Djavan's musics are complex for the brasilians too, becouse are expressions that just the author understand complitely.The understanding is Free for each one.
