This is a great version of Polk Salad Annie. The best version of Polk Salad Annie i have ever heard is from Elvis's New Years Eve concert on the 31st of December 1976 in Pittburgh, totally awesome. Elvis the king forever.
every version elvis did was the best, you people need to give credit to the greatest entertainer of all time. he gave his live to give us the best, dont forget it.
This is a great version of Polk Salad Annie so is the version from the New Years Eve concert in Pittsburgh on the 31st of December 1976. Elvis is the greatest entertainer who ever lived. I've been an Elvis fan since i was 6 in 1971. Elvis the king forever.
His version of Polk Salad Annie from 74-77 is by far his best. Check out Elvis in Pittsburgh-Polk Salad Annie. That version is my favorite. The slower version he did in '70 is based on Tony Joe White's composition.
Morgandrim, why are you in here if you don't like Elvis ? Talk about thick. No one gives a damn about your rubbish opinions. It just shows what you are that you have to swear. Go away, you are a pesky little nuisance. LONG LIVE KING ELVIS.
Hi bluegrass313. You are wrong. I am more important than I think I am. Now,please, before you go on all childish, with this....DRIP talk. Think about what I`ve said. And let`s not get into name calling - I could write a book on it.
Elvis is still the king because he always will. He made really great songs and movies he was really famous that's how he's in videos.I have two cd's of the KING it has all of his songs. :) ;)
Ignorant people have no clue! Elvis had a reading chair in his bath room and he was found on the floor where he had fell while reading. It wasn't just a room with a shitter it was also a dressing room and a quite place to read. Give a little respect to a man who deserves it
Elvis rocked Freedom Hall for three nights in March of 76!his tickets sold out in 45 minutes and over 5000 people had to be turned away. Elvis is so far above all other entertainers and yet he was so humble. Long live The King!
I don't think this is Elvis's usual bass player, Jerry Scheff. It's either Emory Gordy Jr or Duke Bardwell who both played for Elvis between 1973 - 1975, while Jerry was absent with family problems. I think Jerry was the best.
i came here because i read the wildest version. there are many others better..and sadly in this one elvis...was "just damn off"...hey bad day in the office, but the guy was capable of better than this ....as e'one here knows
This is soundboard mono recording not proper recording it's not fair to judge the performance with other proper recordings.
Did you hear insane bass guitar at the end it is very up front in the mix. This song changed so much between 1970-77 some people like feb1970 master some like 1970 that's the way it is version others like fast 1972 MSG version this is 1975 version his health problems and drugs abuse not effect his preformance yet but footage from 1976 he looks litte heavyer in the video.
yeah cool cool...got the message, and appreciate what you're gettin' at...i actually didn't like the bass way up like that...but i refer to what i said which is the main point and that is that elvo boy was havin' a bad day at the office..goddam..i'm havin' a bad year..so he's doin' ok
@ElvisZone It's ok...one of the downsides to being an Elvis fan is that nearly impossible to talk to other fans because everyone is an expert apparently..... Thanks for uploading and great performance captured !
It is a very great version, indeed ! Jerry Scheff is the best bass player I ever heard !
Elvis did a lot of great performances of POLK SALAD ANNIE from 1970 until 1977.
For me, the best ones are the Master (February 1970), the "ELVIS - THAT'S THE WAY IT IS" movie version (August 1970) and this one from the bootleg recording "AT FULL BLAST!" (Las Vegas, August 11, 1972, M/S).
Its not Pork its Polk and this is not by any means the best or wildest verison of this song as done by Elvis. By 1975 the rampant drug abuse had taken its toll on Elvis and he could not move on stage like he used to. Go to the TTWII movie filmed in 1970 and you will see Elvis at his best. Its sad how Elvis' live ended. But maybe it preserved his myth. But one thing is certain. He definitely was the best.
Elvis has always been the greatest performer ever and to me, there was no exception here. I saw him in Lubbock Tx on May 31st 1976 and he did just as well there as he did here.
One question... HOW is it that this got filmed from where seated? When I saw him, "moviecameras" the size they were then, were inadmissable! Whay I'd've given to filmed what I saw!!
Great song, Elvis is really one of the greatest entertainers in the world. I was 8 years old as he died. I remember the day, I saw it in TV. I was a little child but I know whats happened.
I saw Elvis and actually met him for a brief moment. One of his body guards knocked me down and Elvis Helped me up. We were in Charlotte and Elvis was staying at the Charlotte downtowner. It was at the same time Carter, Ford and Regan were in the primaries for President. He actually commented on stage that he felt he was running for President since all the big dogs were in town. Actually said i'm scared I'll wake up and be President. I found out later that Ronald Regan was backstage too.
Nothing against Tom Parker Ha .. I wish Elvis would a kick the shit out of him just once...show me ANY entertainer who maintained their friggin' weight and looked exactly the same has the exact habits in such a demanding DEMANDING career and I'll stop being an Elvis fan..
Kinda hard to watch Elvis for all the pain caused him by his damned criminal manager. Could have been very different for Elvis as years progressed, but Parker ultimately stifled, and took horrible advantage of him. Elvis, kind and trusting soul, just couldn't over-ride. When he tried to make some of his own better decisions he was totally blocked. Circus act is what Parker knew and did best! Elvis was denied basically ALL power and control that he so richly earned and deserved.
After his main bass player Jerry Scheff left the Band for family problems solo shared with Drums And Lead Guitar.. He returned in 1975 but they never change the solo again but you can hear very crazy up front bass solo at the end of the song...
Elvis had complete control on stage, even in 1977. He did it all his way. before he went out on stage he was the one that decided what songs they were going to do. Great vid
did not mean to offend you.that was an infantile response.i know you probably adore him.nobody really wants to meet their idol.skeletons in the cupboard.
That was not infantile response.I said that because I want you to think about your untimely writing.I never hear that rumours before I'm 44 years old male Elvis fan and I'm not adore anyone except God.He was a human with lot of mistakes like all of us.
This is just a music video your comment is infantial this is not fan forum why did you write such a childish troll not comment.
what does it mean think about your writing!
if you are intelligent enough you can understand what I'm trying to say.Beside why are you so interested about gay things? even here what does it change.Truth is Elvis had not homosexual affairs no way he was macho southern men he was hate that kind of persons...
There're always shitty stories in shitty magazines that make up bullshit about anyone who is successful, Elvis was no exception & they always tried to bring him down any way they could with crap stories like that. They also say he had sex with aliens...do you believe that too? I'm really not kidding either!! Its too bad that people can make up what they want to cos some people actually believe it, I personally just ignore anything like that, its laughable. He's the king, let him rest in peace!
Never met an American who wasn't!! Elvis' gut gave him more power in his vocie to get those operatic notes, like 'Unchained Melody', not a chance he could have sang that in the 50's. Also, Elvis was overweight in Clambake and Paradise Hawaiian Style, people ignore that. Why is it only the 70's Elvis people pick on?... Because they're jealous!! This man rocks!
It is sad that in the 1970s I remember the period as bittersweet with both Tragedy & Joy. Loss of my Loved Ones & Entertainers. It should have been enjoyed more but with the deaths of Janis Joplin to Elvis Presley made it impossible to be the most enjoyable decade in history. It was a real sad waste.
I wish these concerts could have been filmed with better cameras. Thats like one thing I wish was different back then. Thank you so much for that though. Great video and thanks for sharing. Love you Elvis!
