@Catfishingonthejames We had tried several trips, to get my friend, Tim on his trophy blue cat. Kept coming up just short and it was getting frustrating ! I mean, trophy cats aren't THAT hard to get in the James !? We made up for it with the 70 ... biggest on my boat so far. Yep ... we were a little excited ! :D

@8darian1208 You're welcome! I'll have to check out your other vids! The barge-pit is a gem especially in cold water ;) We used to fish it with a guide (i have a few vids posted)...now I tow my own rig down every spring; we hit everything from Jones neck to Richmond!

what pound test were you using?

@anglingchris 25LB suffix mono with 80lb mono leader. Sometimes I use 80lb braid. I use almost all spinning tackle, so diameter is an issue. To be honest, I have had less break offs with the mono ... believe it or not. Braid sometimes get frayed and cut on sharp obstacles whereas mono withstands them a little better with the stretch. Proper drag setting is a must.
