  • That ain't no trumpet dude. And there's two o' them there thingambobs. They call 'em cornetti, an' there's gold in them there hills. Anyway, get a load of the lyrics in verse three:

    "...de la T R O M B A sublime il ciel ti degni".

  • who sings? whose tenor voice is it?

  • The text is a sonet of the most important baroque italian poet, Giambattista Marino, and the musicality of his works can be appreciated only reading the text, also without understanding its meaning. Singer's pronunciation is perfect! Very good performance! I also like the use of psaltery in it.

  • If I may say so it is sung by Cyril Auvity and Jan van Elsacker tenors :)

  • Also, the trumpet in the beginning? I'd lose it too, the piece is called Tempro la cetra, not Tempro la trompetta! :-)

  • This is a cornetto, not a trumpet :)

  • Actually the Urtext version is Trombo la cetra

  • Very nice except if I was the conductor I would play the beginning slower. It's supposed to sound like tuning an instrument which is done slowly.

  • Almost perfect.
