I too think a great deal with Cohen is surviving depression. Basically he sais you have to keep reality out (dug) from time to time, without loosing it totally (connection with his children). I thin that`s the art in it. Not easy to work out if you`re caged into a day to day job you gotta do for living.

Commend the lady for being as constructive as to interview Leonard Cohen. We may feel we understand him or his work more deeply than she, but why the vitriol? She isn't offending him; not being too tabloid. it could be said she is simply doing her job. Question hatred.
