  • @deafpa Thats what those lights are you dick head, ramp signals

  • anarchist99999: Its to make sure that the traffic doesnt come on the road at once, if it would, it might cause a traffic jam

    SO ITS NOT POINTLESS

GR Keokiracerhalsteren, from Holland/the Netherlands EUROPE

  • hahahaha, makes no sence at all, how is it on the freeways, better?

I think it has changed nothing, it's pointles..

I'm happy whe don't use that sh*t in Europe.

Only the oil-industrie can get better out of this...

  • I still say these things are a pain when on a hill in a manual, nothing but an excuse to wear your clutch out with the whole stop-start thing. Thank goodness Europe doesn't use them!

  • There is nothing crazy about those signal lights. At the place where I live, when we enter a highway, we have to merge two lanes into one first at the signal lights. In less than 4 seconds, speeding from a dead stop to 50mph+, we have to merge our lane with another two merging lanes. Thanks to those signal lights, people are able to merge into the main highway without braking for all of the merging cars. Those lights keep the cars from equal spacing.

  • in some places they are good... others they are pointless. The way they are in auckland at the moment is pointless. Firstly, most of them are not active during peek hours. And there are some in places where they are not necessay... the mt wellington onramp south bound, for example, goes into its own lane that continues to Manakau! that apporx 25km in which people have the opptunity to merge into traffic after comming onto the moterway! those lights are pointless there.

  • Fuck yeah!

  • stupido

  • One car per light It controls the traffic merging to the freeway They are all over in LA

  • its called an onramp light they have them in the metropolitan areas of minnesota

  • Where i live, we have two of those to enter a bridge..........i beleive it's a good idea..(Coquitlam,BC,Canada.

  • HOW GAY! It CLEARLY says "1 vehicle per turn", how stupid can you get!

  • tHEY have those on the San Francisco bridge when you are heading back to the city used to disperse the cars and avoid a huge traffic clog.

  • thats quite clever.

  • Its just a meter light, they help control the traffic merging on to freeways and yes they do help. If no light as soon as people get on the on-ramp everyone begins their "Im in such a damn hurry" mode and haul ass down the on ramps causing accidents and backups when it merges to one lane.

  • They will only help if traffic on the main lanes is moving fast enough. Else it is just a small sprint from this light to the back of the queue of cars trying to merge.

  • yes and when it's busy in auckland noone ever seems to merge properly, and noone ever will. for the simple fact of the easiness of getting ur drivers license here. its so easy im not suprised theres so many crap drivers out there.

  • Those lights are gay, that won't help; it'll make it worse

  • without the lights, the motorway will be a deadlock. The purpose of the lights is to dreep fit the motorway, not clog it.

  • But It backs up traffic onto the streets and that is very useless

  • the traffic will be deadlocked all the way up to the back street when the motorway entry is deadlocked.

  • this system in aussie works just fine.. but i drive thru auckland traffic all the time and it gets to the point where theres cars from the onramp to the traffic lights so its deadlocked anyway, sure it helps to a certain point, but after that point they just become an eyesore..

  • This is like a kitchen sink filter, without the filter, the sink will be blocked. It drip feeds the motorway, instead of overloading it.

  • they got those on the long island expressway

  • They have these freeway entrance lights all over Seattle. They only come on during rush hours to manage flow of traffic onto the freeway in a paced out way.

  • Those are standard in big cities. Control the traffic that gets on the freeway. I think Minneapolis just figured out they actually make traffic worse and disabled them.

  • nevr seen this before in my life lol

  • Dude, its supposed to do that.. lol I understand your frustration, I encounter them two to three times a day and the most they do for traffic congestion is cause a jam on the streets leading up to the freeway...

  • dude its sopose to do that its an onramp light.....lol......noob

  • Crazy? These are traffic flow metering signals.

Read a drivers manual and learn to drive.

(Forgive me if you are from a state without such signals.)

One vehicle each lane per green signal.

  • it just she let 2 plls go and then it go on red.

  • this is in use for a longer period. also in the netherlands

  • A specially in the Netherlands but it pritty sucks because we fucking has to pay because we drived treu red : O

  • i read a sign under the traffic light and it stands one vehicle per green. so it goes on green. then you may go but for the next vehicle it wil jumps on red again. still crazy lol

  • Haha LoooL... Thats Crazy... :D

  • Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • rofl

  • Haha

  • Uh... you must live in the boonies. These are everywhere on freeway entrances to gate the merge. The timing gets slower when it's congested, faster when not, off when no congestion.

  • i hate these bastard things, they feel so clostrophbic, and you think your gonna get "red lighted" if you are off.

  • we have those here in salt lake city utah as well

  • lmao

  • nice ! you can use it for a burning start LOL

  • This has been introduced in Australia too and there is nothing wrong with the traffic light. It's to reduce traffic congestion entering the motorway by allowing only one vehicle (per lane) per green. They are normally activated during peak traffic times only.

  • Oh my God, and I thought Sydney traffic lights were bad.

THIS WOULD HAVE TO BE A WORLD RECORD FOR THE SHORTEST GREEN LIGHT!!!!

  • hmm, imagine this in Turkey! they don't even obey regular lights, this one? hahaha... see my videos to see the misery :)

  • whahahahahah p

  • The sign says: one car per green. So it isn't a weird traffic light.

  • correctomundo!

  • If You don't pull away fast enough you get stuck in front of the light forever

  • those who thought that i m retarded didn t even think that the title i choose is ironic ?? I use to use this road every day and i must say at first that i found it a bit crazy ( nothing like that exist in France where i come from, but maybe they should think about it cause i found it efficient .. )

  • Dat is normaal. er stond 1 wagen per groen licht

  • What's up with that?

  • BAH HAHAHAHAA

  • Hahahahaha...Lol...Que raro que exista un semaforo loco....bueno, pero ha de ser frustante estar ahi y a la vez gracioso...JAJAJAJAJA.... :)

  • Uh thats a metering light. It controls the influx of incoming traffic to prevent a traffic jam or an accident. Its normal for the traffic light to behave like that. We have that too on overcrowded freeways such as 280, 101, interstate 80 and etc on-ramps.

  • dat hoord zo zodat ze een voor en weg kunnen

  • this is because the freeway has heavy traffic.... they have this all over the place...

  • if u notice the traffic on the motorway is running at 40-50mph, without those lights it would have a been a case of light a fag, open the window and appreciate the country side view!

  • they have the same type on m56, it really works. they install them on busy motorway junctions, very efective and not crazy at all!

  • New Zealand

  • lol i would go on red light instead of wasting shit

  • that'll suck when you're in a hurry

  • more like half a vehicle per green. that would send me crazy

  • They do have these on the m25 around London. Very effective and not crazy at all.

  • It's for only letting people on the ramp to the freeway one at a time to not cause congestion. Its really not that difficult people.

  • i think they do that on the m25 now, kinda works

  • We really need that on I-64 in Newport News Where it merges from 4 lanes down to two. If your from around there its a real mess coming from Norfolk. Definintly a good idea!

  • its for ticket thing to get in the state or somtin green means its ok to go and red means u gotta stop and pay common sense

  • LOL i am so glad we dont have that lame shit over here it must take like 30 mins just to get onto the highway why not just have highway entrys that turn into an extra lane for a few kilometres like most places have

  • They are used to prevent traffic jams due to too many vehicles entering the highway at the same time. It's actually quite effective, and it doesn't take more than 5 minutes to get in the highway.

  • perhaps, it is just a quick and cheap fix to building extra lanes though

  • are u fcukin retarded?? its a metering light not no bullshit "crazy traffic light" they are all over california

  • ur idiot ¬¬

it's one car per green light asshole!

even me tham am brazilian can understand that shit ¬¬

  • its a highway entry light (smart stop sign with sensors)

  • hahaha, there can only one car and then the traffic lights are red. Not normal :P hahaha

  • roflmao!!!!

  • weird?

  • lolz that was so funny i forgot 2 lafff!!!!!!

  • Ah great, so they divert the traffic jam from the highway to the on-ramps, pure GENIUS

  • In Holland you'll have those also. Its against traffic jams but i think those things don't help to solve the problem.

  • its like a drag race light

  • THOSE ARE ON EVERY SINGLE ON RAMP !!! dude southerncross68 you are retarded those are " 1 vehicle per green light " type traffic lights to make it so instead of all the cars merging at once only 1 car from each lane can go ... not crazy at all dumbass those are regular lights

  • lmao

  • Wow! That's not normal :P

  • lol.. thats weird.. :D

  • it no malfunction there used for on ramps

  • anything wrong with this light? TRICKEY!

  • Thats done on PURPOSE! hence why it says "one vehicle per green" how retarded.

  • obviously it's a malfunction. no doubt.

  • It is obviously NOT (!) a malfunction. Didn't you read the sign below the traffic light? "One vehicle per green, each lane". It's just a way of managing the traffic jam.

This video is nothing unusual. In Holland you'll see these on more places where heavy traffic loads take place.

    "No doubt..."

  • they should try building some public transport

  • They should try that on the M1/M10/M25 merge in the UK. It might save me sitting there for an hour each night !

  • They have some onramp lights on m3 and possibley some m25 SW side, but i haven't ever seen them switched on.

  • It's to prevent traffic on the onramp clagging up the traffic on the main road when everyone tries to merge. By regulating the onramp traffic during peak times it helps to keep the traffic on the main road flowing unobstructed.

  • Is that a malfunction, or genuine traffic control?

  • LMAO 1 vehicle per green per lane? That sucks.

  • OMG HAHHAHAH

  • wtf?

  • hahaha Classic

  • Yeah that Mangere motorway sucks in the evenings, and those traffic controling lights don't help much there, besides its like Transits trial one before they stick them on more onramps :)

  • Wellington in New Zealand traffic is slower. 24/7
