hey disco. i love your piece very much. do you by chance know where to get this songsheet and the floppy disk for the electone? i need it urgently to play for a wedding for a friend. you would be a great help to me. its in 2 weeks time !
Nice job!!!! I tried to film myself playing my EL90 today but the sound quality was terrible.... I'm definitely going to have to follow your example and link the organ straight to the computer :) Thanks for the inadvertent advice :D
I connected the left and right sound out puts of the EL90 via 6mm jacks straight in to the 3mm stereo input of the sound card at the back of my pc.
I used Audacity to record the sound as a WAV file. I recorded the video at the same time. I then mixed the sound and video together using Pinnacle video editing software.
Thanks for the info Phil. I have got some tracks ready to record onto a CD. We will get the CD done next time my Dad brings his laptop down as its got a much better sound card in it than mine..
@Penguindog55 I don't know what an EL-90 cost, but it was a high-end organ at the time. My expectation is that it'd cost around the same as today's high end organs (Roland AT-900, for example)... so, around $25.000.
I admire your playing and interpretation of this piece. I love the sounds you have chosen, and is a perfect example of why this organ can still hold it's own. More please!!!
In my mind nothing has been made that can come close to the Yamaha El90. Not even its bigger siblings the' EL900 and ELX1. The modern stuf can be better but for a lot more money.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! *sings along* =D "Fly me to the moon.. let me play among the stars... Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars...." thanks you, discofacelift!
The instrument I'm playing is a Yamaha EL-90T, Yamaha stopped producing them in around 2002. The only way you will find one now is on ebay or a used retailer who deals in this type on of instrument. If you search the internet for Yamaha organs for sale you may find one at a good price. the models to look for are EL90 EL90-T EL900 AR80 AR100. Let me know how you get on.
nice job. as a musician, may i make a suggestion? this is right-on but, i , personally would like to see you improvise. get outta ya straight-jacket! '-) have fun and keep playin, it'll keep you well.
I had music lessons for seven years and can only play with the music score; I know what you mean about the straightjacket. I find it hard to let my self-go when Im playing. Another issue is Ive played in a band for some years and they always expect you to play whats on the dots every time you go on stage; in away thats regimented me to an extent.
Feel free to make suggestions and comments. Ill try to ease up a little in my next video post.
The 70's were a great time for the electronic organ and enthusiasts a like. Sadly those days are gone and are not likely to come back. Thanks to YouTube we can still see these amazing instruments and help keep it alive, especially with all the performances that are being uploaded.
It's so easy to get a good sound with style files and sequencing and the majority of people can't tell, its only when some one like your self who can play notices,I my self learned to play the organ back in the late seventies when instruments hardly had any auto accompaniment and what you heard was what you were playing.
Thanks once again for taking the time to post your comment,
Love it!!!! no sequencing, multi tracking, style files, or disks, just rhythm, means a hell of a lot to me. I have played Organ/Keyboards since 1978 and I loathe the way people sequence today. REAL PLAYERS like you are the true entertainers!!!! Love your style!!!
Thanks jazz24p7 for taking the time to make a comment. Not everyone likes my compositions and style of playing, however every thing I do play is live and its me playing it, and that means no sequencing, multi tracking, style files, or disks, just rhythm, and I don't like using that if I can help it.
Ohhh baby will you play for me :)

I'm pleased you like my style of music.
It's harder than it looks to create a video that looks and sounds good.
I used Audacity to record the sound track and mixed it all together with Pinnacle video editing software.
Good luck and I look forward to watching and hearing your 1st performance.

Thanks @organistuk,
The EL-90 is a great instrument if you take the time to find yourself around it. It can still hold it's self with the newer instruments around.
Hope to hear and see you playing your EL-90 on here some time.

Very well done, that sax sounds fairly superior for a modern Yamaha keyboard, bet those organs cost a fortune in their day.
