The thing is, when this person was alive the illuminati did exactly exist in Europe between 1776 to 1785. However it wasn't the kind of illuminati all the conspiracies talk about today. It started in Bavaria and was a group for "enlightened" free thinkers and intellectuals, masons and so forth. The authorities saw the illuminati enlightened thinkers as a challenge to authority and outlawed the group in 1785 and it subsequently dissolved.

@61shirley I tried to read the writing on the grave as I find this very interesting. it looks like Latin but I don't think it is unless I'm reading it wrong, it doesn't appear to make any sense. Mort means death....."Death to the Resurgence" or something like that possibly? Maybe the illumanti was trying to reform or resert itself and this person was an opponent of it and warned against it on his grave! All guess work here tho, would be interesting to research this person, maybe local lib/church
