  • If anyone but Doug Gillard had filled in on guitar, I don't think this band would have been the same at all.

  • genius intro.

  • I love how he jumps around - robert pollard is great, and great performance too :)

  • This looks like the kind of gig where you completely lose yourself in the music! Hard to explain, but hey I wish I had a chance to see these guys, only got into them a couple of years ago. This reminds me of when I saw Idlewild in a small dive in Birmingham... awesome!

  • wow,fucking song,fucking band,great ,great.

  • Is there a "tube" of them on HBO's Reverb???

I think it was taped in Philly

  • nope, not that I know of. Would be great to see...

  • It was on for a while several years ago on the Reverb website. I think the track was "Cut Out Witch."

  • what is the problem with the video version of this song on youtube? how is it an issue of terms of use causing the removal of it specifically?

  • Great song! If his liver craps out on him, he can have mine!

  • lol..... that's sobering.

  • A fucking yuppie with a fucking awesome voice. Don't hate.

  • It just don't get any better than this!

  • Great song, great video.

  • I saw them live on the tour before their retirement tour. They had to have played for like 4 hours straight. They came out for 2 encores. It was pretty great. He got drunk on stage he must have had about 8 beers in a 30 minute time span. It was pretty wild.

  • he had about 20 beers and a bottle of tequila in austin, and was still brilliant!

  • Twas always the same. Say a prayer for his liver.

  • have seen him fall on his fucking ass and finished a song sitting on the floor fuck yeah!

  • @sadair69 Being anything but pathetically wasted after 20 years and a bottle of tae kwon do is called being schizoterrestrial. Being brilliant after all that is called being Robert Pollard.

  • I absolutely adore this song.

  • Oh, sweetbabyjesus. An ex- of mine took me to a show on the the farewell tour and I stood there slackjawed the entire time. Easily the best live rock band ever.

And some nice lady pulled out a J during this song and handed it to me. Thanks, glad girls.

  • Easy on the zoom, scooter.

Otherwise a very nice amateur shot. The fellas sound fairly tight, I must say.

  • Great video, possibly the best live GbV quality video I've seen here! I was at this show but preferred the Bimbo's shows (2000/2002) way more, those were fun to be up front in front of the Tim and Nate. Ah those memories...

  • I was lucky enough to be up front at this gig. You can see me right below the hairy bearded guy at 2:25, grinning like a fool. GBV coming to SF was the highlight of every year- miss this band big time!

  • The only thing that's missing is the bottomless cooler of beer they always seemed to have!

  • GODLY

  • Bob is something of a legend

  • I only wanna get you HIGH!!

  • Where's Mike Hummel? Where the f**k is Mike Hummel???? This one's for Bela!!!!

One of the best Pop/Rock songs EVER!!!

  • Still the greatest band!!

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • I just saw myself in this video. I'm standing behind the blonde guy who always stands up close and tapes the shows.

  • only wanna get you high... so true. BobGod.

  • fucking hell YES.

  • I was there! I'm the guy on the left, with the hair... that's me!

  • indeed

  • fucking YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS

  • fucking YES
