I remember max headroom beign more e-ne-ner-getic! I'm 32 and i think i first saw M H when i was 7 or 8 yrs old. Does anyone remember the exact year he first appeared on T.V?
Actually, we're both wrong. The ad aired in 1986 as a replacement for the Bill Cosby ads for New Coke, which aired in 1985. After the New Coke chaos, they needed to advertise both Coke and Coke Classic in one form, and they chose this form. So, essentially, this is an ad for Coke and Coke Classic, simultaneously.
It's somwhat ironic that in Back to the Future II, in the year 2015, Marty goes into the 80's Cafe where all the waiters are like Max Headroom and he orders a Pepsi.
Max Headroom was ahead of his time, and would fit in perfectly today. My only fear is that they would get some younger actor instead of Mat Frewer to do Max Headroom again. Matt Frewer is still young enough to fit into that plastic latex mask again and continue the part where he left off! :)

That's not an ad for New Coke, it's just an ad for regular Coke.

Is this Coke ad going to be almost the only Max Headroom that we'll see on YouTube?
There are like, four or five of them, the same old ad, and yet there was so much more of Max to see that was cooler....
Isn't anyone going to post the Cinemax Max Headroom shows, or clips from his ABC series, which was masterful and truly ahead of it's time?
I would if I could, but perhaps others out there are able - if so, please do it!!!!

I sooooo agree with hootyhaha. My kids could easily find him as cool today as I did when I was in high school. :o)

They just don't do Cola Wars nowadays like they did 'em in those 1980's.

And of course these colas go great with Zik Zak Burger Paks. You know, the kind that taste just like your old leather wallet!
