  • Junk. Buy a Taurus dumbass

  • Powerful engine? Are you kidding me? hahahahahahahha.

  • no mention of the gas mileage? i read that seems to be less than stated on the sticker.....

  • @rickbangkok

I fill up every two weeks with the eco drive on. If thats true I need to find that lady who sued Honda for poor gas mileage. Did you hear about that?

  • Hyundai has a nice engine, and they've copied enough exterior design from other automakers to have a halfway decent looking car.

But until they take the time to build a car that handles and has worthwhile steering feedback, they will continue to be garbage in the eyes of enthusiast drivers.

  • @luminaeus Educate yourself before you speak you little moron. The designer that designs audis works with kia and hyundai now . So if that is copying your a dumb fuck

  • @lancer7610

LoL hey hey hey no bad words @ luminaeus he just didn't educate him self that well.

  • @lancer7610

Whooptee friggin do, they hired an Audi designer. Guess what dipshit? He still answers to the board of directors who are desperate to portray Hyundai and Kia as alternatives to well-respected brands.

If you can't see the copied designs you're blind as a bat.

  • @luminaeus

Hey luminaeus its not because their copying its because the designer from Audi is putting those european features into Hyundai and KIA. Their probably paying him more at Hyundai and KIA plus he's doing a good job.

  • 270Hp but 0-60 in 6.5 sec??? Serious turbo lag there

  • @McFly2015AD well its a midsized sedan, not a performance sport sedan.

  • @McFly2015AD

There's no turbo lag on this car it's just heavy, that's all. It's probably between 3600 and 4000 pounds.

  • BEST CAR OF ITS CLASS

  • @zungaloca

If by 'class' you mean cheap cars that aren't expected to go around a corner.

  • @luminaeus

LoL "go around the corner" kia is a good car I had a kia spectra 02 nothing wrong with it just the basic car repairs. I traded in my 02 spectra with no problems for this sx optima last year. At the dealer they told me my 02 spectra was in good condition for being 9yrs old.

  • @keithmiam

Obviously you don't care about cars or driving, which is why you are incapable of understanding why people who DO like cars and DO care about driving think Hyundai is garbage.

It's not that the car is unreliable or isn't a good value, it's that the car is simply boring. Until they can build a well-balanced car that I can fling around a corner and feel what the front tires are doing by the feedback of the steering wheel, I'm not interested.

  • @luminaeus no i mean performance guarentee full equiped and 5 star safety

  • Hilarious thread, unless some of you are sinister comedians planted by the motor trade to keep us supplied with jokes so we don't have time to realise that most popular models are (unmentionable). A four-cylinder which out-powers a V6? Now how on Earth can that happen? Let me see... And a smaller engine cannot be as smooth as a larger one? Why sure, sure... Now go ask Nurse for your pills.

  • @TheOriginalThatOne

Technology man do your research stop living in the past. They found a way to tweak a 4 cylinder engine to run like a V6. Pretty soon other car makes are going to be doing the same to try and compete for low gas mileage. Go to you local dealer and ask about this or research it.

  • @keithmiam Read me again, brother! I was teasing a previous poster who had less technical nous than his post required. I've used all configurations of engine from one to twelve cylinders and currently drive a 300 horsepower Jaguar V8. Mmm, tasty! (As long as the price of gas doesn't give you threatening palpitations.)

  • @TheOriginalThatOne

Yeah I'm replying to your comment about the 4 cylinder running like a V6. When you mash the pedal of a 4 cylinder the engine sounds like its gonna fly out the hood of the car but the engine in this optima is quiet and smooth as a V6. Ask anybody who owns this car they'll tell ya. And a Jaguar I have no comment that's a whole nother breed of cars.

  • @keithmiam I had a small 4-pot in a car I had bought to take my dad out. Obviously my driving was sedate most of the time, but when I was solo I had a lot of harmless fun. That poor little engine suffered, with a right bag of nails sound. I was pleased to see that car go. The only 4-pots which make interesting sound are in some Imprezas but overall 6, 8, 10 and 12 sound better; bigger cylinder-count engines I have only heard too briefly to form an opinion. Next car? Supercharged Jaguar!

  • Nice ride. I would consider one of these if i have to buy a new car next time.

  • My Grand Prix has 40 less horsepower and weighs significantly more but would beat this car 0-60 by over half a second. Proof that Kia still cannot make a decent car

  • @ehegger99

And then what happens after that half of second?? Turbo kicks in and your Grand Prix is way behind eating dust and don't bother trying to catch up cause this Optima has no gov on it so if it says 160 on the dash it does 160. Man I wish I could race you!

  • Only pussy's drive cheap KIA cars. I would love to beat up whoever disagrees with me.

  • @eltingville81

I bet that cheap KIA car would probably smoke whatever you got.

  • @eltingville81 i agree lol

  • These KIA people along with Hyundai have got to be causing the Detroit people a few sleepless nights. With their policy of 3 year up date intervals GM has just announced that they will be doing the same thing. The Koreans made GM do it. Example....in 2009 Hyundai introduced the Genesis,3.8L 290 HPand 6 speed tran. After 3 years the 2012 Genesis 3.8L 333HP direct injection and 8 speed trans. Yes, these South Koreans are on a roll and the winner is John Q Public.

  • A step behind? That's where tuning comes in. You buy one of these cars, add some adjustable dampers, sway bars and light wheels and you can have a decent cornering car. Reviews like this one tend to shun the car out of sight, but if you're into putting a little bit of TLC into the performance of your car then i don't think you'd be put off by some of the reported trouble spots some reviews proclaim.

  • @PrimeEden Why would you waste that money on it?, while you can buy a cheaper sports sedan that is well equipped, that handles better, AND RWD for that 30grand + whatever your "tuning" cost is. You just made yourself look like a fool.

  • @rxvexe Hm, i don't feel like a fool. And even if i were, it'd be more satisfying than being rude. Either way, for those who enjoy "tuning" or putting something into their vehicles to make them more of a one-of-a-kind car while also making it more capable, it wouldn't be too much to ask, especially because you'd only need to really work on suspension. Although i fully admit your allure of RWD is something to be more desired than an Optima.

  • I wonder how the Koreans feel about their car looking "European".

  • And what does the new civic si do it in ? LOL I love how far the korean cars have come in the last 6 or 7 years.

  • Comment removed

  • I have the same one just like in this video. I told my friend I bought this car and he was so upset. He thinks its the old KIA Optima and I keep on telling him to look up the 2011 KIA Optima SX but he is so hard headed to the point I might just befriend him because he's the kind of guy if he doesn't see it he doesn't believe it until its right in front of his face. And that right there pisses me off!! I always tell the truth and if I'm not sure of something I won't say anything.

  • @infamousPR, what the fuck is the word "arse" you foreigner dick! I'm American so I don't understand you! So go fuck yourself you pussy!!

  • @eltingville81

    It means horse

  • Very nice car, but 30k for a Kia is too much. A 2012 Camry SE V6 fully loaded comes out at 27 and beats the crap out of this car with a 0 to 60 in the mid 5s. Although, I do agree the Kia is the most handsome mid size car available now.

  • @InfamousPR

ARE YOU CRAZY!! Beat the crap out of this car!? Have you done your research about both cars?? Probably not but I have and let me tell you maybe in take off but not by much cause once that turbo kicks in your Camry is eating dust. Oh and one more thing there's no governor on the Optima so if the car says 160 it does 160 BITCH!! LoL JK with the bitch part :-D

  • @keithmiam lol camry does 0-60 in 5.8 this does 0-60 in 6.5 turbo lag is stupid if it were a v6 turbo id agree this engine is better but in reality anyone can turbo their camry for a couple hundred and their camry will do high 4s or low 5s in 0-60

  • @solarlightning

I subscribe to consumer reports a while back when the Optima SX first came out and they rated all the top sedans like the Accord, Camry, Fusion and Maxima by who had the most horse power and the SX Optima was 1st with a 4 cylinder, 2nd was Nissan Maxima with a V6, 3rd was Ford Fusion with a V6, 4th was Toyota Camry with a V6 and the Honda Accord was last with a V6. I was so surprise to see a 4 cylinder had more horse power than all of those V6s.

  • @keithmiam you have to keep in mind a smaller engine is not as smooth it cant be as smooth as a 3.5 vs 2.0..now that comparison is pretty dumb because the turbo optima has 274hp and the v6 camry 268hp...only major diiference is that camry doesnt have turbo lag...and also adding a turbo isnt a big deal add a turbo to a camry and itll fly...but a camry is dull boring and seen everywhere but the kia has questionable reliability and a horrible resale value

  • @solarlightning

Your right about that. You've done your research very well I like that.

  • @keithmiam yea these segment of veichles are hard to pick from honestly the only car i would really want to get is a fusion..good looking beautiful interior, reliability close to toyotas ect...

  • @solarlightning

Oh yea nice interior and the fusion has a nice sound system in them they bass pretty hard almost like 10s. I dont know what they got in them but their pretty good.

  • @InfamousPR and keep in mind the camry engine is alot smoother than this kias engine.but yea styling wise kia wins but the camry would also have much better reliability than this car

  • @solarlightning Yep, that 10 yr warranty got u covered if anything happens. I have to differ with u though as I test drove this car yesterday and I was simply amazed how refined, quiet and smooth the car was. The build quality is like a Lexus. I do prefer this car better than the camry, though the Camry might be just a bit more reliable but u wont even get noticed since everybody has Toyotas and they are just plain boring to look at. Kia has built an all around great car.

  • @InfamousPR haha have you read about there warranty many claims against it at least about 5 years ago..kia practically never covered anything because barely anything was included in there warranty and if it was they would find a way to avoid fixing your car..kias used to be nightmares i wouldnt buy a kia until 5-10 years late to see if these new kias actually last..and i agree camrys are everywher D:

  • @solarlightning do not ride kia if you do not like it. They grew up whatever your mouth mumbles. Just live in your corrupted past memory ever

  • @bhbae wait i was never hating on kias other than stating facts now i know theyve improved alot but none of us really know how many miles these cars will last will it be 50,000 150,00 or 300,00? and if you read review of kias warranty even though it sounds/ed good no one was happy with it.now idk how they do buisness now so ill wait a bit to actually see the "New Kias" and if they turn out to be good long lasting cars good for kia they went from a total POS to a good car maker

  • @solarlightning That was back when Kia wasn't owned by Hyundai. Everything's different now & the Koreans are proving themselves with amazing vehicles such as this one. As a matter of fact, I got an SX today fully loaded. I'll give Kia a chance, they've gained my respect with this great car and I never thought I would own a Kia. For the past 6 yrs I've only owned Toyotas btw.

  • @InfamousPR yes warranty scam claims but bad reliability no..the 2011 sorrento got 5/10 in reliability rankings while the highlander got 9 out of 10 on car news and also jd sorrento got 2.5 for overall build quality and highlander got 4 out of 5..so ima wait a bit to see how they last because reliability ratings arent always true

  • @InfamousPR

and the ladies do break neck I promise you that.

  • @keithmiam Yeah, I got my SX yesterday fully loaded. Turns heads everywhere!!!!!

  • @InfamousPR

I got mines last year when they first came out. The only video youtube had about the SX Optima was the one that KIA uploaded with the guy doing 140 on the straight away and this video wasnt even out yet. I came back now and there's a shit load of videos about the Optima. LoL I still remember the day I pull this baby off the KIA lot and this guy on his bike blew me a kiss and I thought to myself, "boy I hope he blew that kiss at my car and not me LoL!! Well man enjoy that car!!

  • @keithmiam LOL. I took it to the car wash today cause the dealer did a shitty job cleaning it. Everybody was staring at the car and asking me questions. I got mines in pearl white with the touring rims btw. Any issues with yours up to date? Also, what are the oil change intervals, the dealer told me every 7500 miles cause is synthetic, however the manual says at 3k for the turbo but I don't know if is only the first one after the break in period. Btw, I don't listen to these haters.

  • @InfamousPR

My color is blue just like in this video. I'm at 7 thousand miles now with no problems. The people at the dealers are so retarded they told me every 3500. The only real answer I can give you is to do whatever your owner's manual says to do. Anything past that is just theory, and you have to decide for yourself what makes sense for your application.

  • @keithmiam hey im currently driving the first and still only blue sx-t in massachusetts too, minus the navigation (second blue optima is still in display :D)

  • only if it was rear drive =/ kia is definitely redeeming itself tho =0

  • Ugly rims and nice fake side air vents.

  • @eltingville81 Ur tastes are clearly up your arse.

  • @eltingville81

Ugly rims?! Boy I would hate to see what your girlfriend looks like

  • 30 g'S FOR A KIA. if your going to finance that you better but 75 % down before you high end "Quality" car starts to have its bolts coming loose

  • oh man even the engine cover looks awesome. what a car!

  • remove the kia logo, and move the factory to europe, and i'l be satisfyed.

  • only thing i don't like about korean cars is that they look almost exactly like other cars from other companies. ie. the first time i saw an equus i mistakened it for a mercedes at first glance. when i realized it was a hyundai, my respect for the company dropped. Other than that, they're aren't bad.

  • @iStyleZ415

What do you mean your respect for the company dropped?? The guy who designs Audi cars left and went to Hyundai. There style may look like a Mercedes but the guy who's designing it is adding some features from Audi.

  • @keithmiam regardless of who the designer is, anything or anyone who makes stuff that look exactly like something else doesn't have my respect. I'm not saying it's a bad car, nor am I saying everyone should dislike it. It's my opinion. Besides what are you trying to prove by saying the Audi designer left for hyundai? It doesn't make me respect them any more than i did. but hey, if you're a hyundai fan, it's cool. everyone has different tastes.

  • @iStyleZ415

I mean I don't know what kind of respect you had for Hyundai back then but for you to say you lost respect because you thought you were looking at a Mercedes, I was just trying to give some info on why it looked like a Mercedes. I should of wrote this in the post earlier but probably the Audi designer may have took some of his designs to give it that european look. And I'm not a Hyundai fan just an Optima SX turbo fan for now until something else catches my interest.

  • korean cars are starting to ROCK!

  • Is it just me or does this Optima bear a striking resemblance a '91 Subaru SVX?

  • More effort in sterring with this car but not more feel? Petty complaint. Slippery tires ultimately let it down in corners at high speed? Kia didn't make the tires. Most consumers won't even notice that, unless they're using this car as a getaway vehicle in a bank robbery.

  • everything aside...

do you really wanna say you drive a kia?

  • 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, torque steer, some turbo lag? If you're looking for performance go with a base WRX easily. If you want to spend in the low 30's (which is probably close to this with options), go with a 370z, STi, Evo, 5.0, SS, etc...

I will say, congrats to kia to moving into the performance segment, because I would have never even thought of them that way...still have a few years to get some things together...

  • @Cataphract19 This isn't an all out performance car. It's equipped with nice features like heated/cooled seats, heated steering, passenger power seats, etc. Yes, the Evo, STI's base prices are $30k, but they don't come with any of the comfort features.

  • @moriS6708 well, that would be why Cataphract qualified his statement with "if your looking for performance". the marketing campaign for this car is obviously targeting performance enthusiasts, but the car really isn't geared to back that up. plus there's still the stigma of the kia badge.

  • @uummmnocoolnames Who cares what he said? Nobody is cross shopping this car with Evo/STi. Kia is selling with its value(features and warranties), not speed.

  • @moriS6708

I just hope the cars your talking about don't have a governor on them because the SX Optima doesn't so if the car says 160 it does 160. And if these cars your talking about doesn't have a governor on them well then that's a SIGHT TO SEE!!

  • Hyundai and Kia are making great cars as of late but for me to be sure I'd give these cars another 5 to 7 years to see how they really hold up. If they hold up well then the other competitors better be awake.

  • @7477238 yea they seem like they have decent wuality now but alot of people that work on these cars say that under the hood quality sucks..so that being said i wouldnt buy a kiad for another 7-10 years just to make sure they last

  • 3 words. REAR. WHEEL. DRIVE.

  • everything sounded nice but that FWD.

  • For 30K you can start thinking about a Charger... Life is too short for front-wheel-drive.

  • How come every single car they test is slower in accel and has less grip then any other reviewing company? Do the drivers just suck?

  • FWD - nty

  • If I were to buy this car, I'd buy it used. Kia's have absolutely no resale value so I can probably pick up a 2 year old on the used car lot for 25% the retail price.

Accord and Camry urinates all over this Kia in resale.

  • @clanna2004 You are the first person that see the big picture on all the Honda and Camry bashing, Thank You! :-).

  • @clanna2004 You buy it used and u dont get the full warranty. Buy it certified, u only pay 2000 less than what it would cost u new.

  • I would it to be my bitch instead of my old rusty 1985 Mercedes

  • @saw0man Look at it this way. I bet you money that KIA won't be around in 27 years.

  • Why in the world is this Kia Optima SX using the EXACT SAME engine as the Hyundai Sonata 2.0T? It has the same HP, Torque, and MPG. Something seems fishy to me!

  • @slesperado

Hyundai and KIA are the same they are like GM. Hyundai purchased Kia.

  • @Nbuilder1 Wow! I honestly didn't know that. Thank you for explaining it for me;)

  • When I drove this car, I was amazed by the interior quality and response of the steering. Equipment was more than generous. The only thing I didn't like that much was the amount of windnoise at highway speeds at the mirrors and windshield.

  • @Hidezepickle Is it just me or is road/wind-noise a deal-breaker in a car purchase?

  • @59summerset It is! It seems like not that many people care though.

  • Maybe an Optima EX is a good compromise. It doesn't try too hard to be a sport sedan and also it is still in the mid 20s (unless to go crazy with the options) and it still make sense for a Kia. Don't get me wrong, Kia is definitely an up and coming car manufacturer. To paid 30K for Kia.....it really take a leap of faith.

  • Just bought one! The best car ever for the money! Better than my BMW 5 series and my '09 Acura TSX that I traded for KIA Optima SX!

  • The sad truth is the IDIOT American that is buying these cars, why do you think they have money to improve they're cars cause you IDIOTS keep pumping money in they're pockets not helping America and you can argue all you want but the truth is the truth. And the economy is in the dumps and you wonder why. Go Korea. Wait till they bring in the Chinese cars. AMERICA is the new made in Asia.

  • @Nbuilder1 2012 Optimas are 100% USA made! Do some research before making statement!!!!!

  • @andrey121382

You are as stupid as the rest the KIA is NOT made in the U.S. it is assembled in the U.S. from foreign parts made in Korea. You do your research before you open your uninformed mouth. This is why America is the way it is because ignorant fools like you.

  • @Nbuilder1 Go to a kia dealer and you will see on the sticker it clearly says: Engine- 100% USA made, Transmission- 100% USA made, Assembled- USA. Who is stupid now? Keep on driving your piece on junk Chevy!

  • @andrey121382

WOW you are one stupid TROLL. Are you listening to how stupid and gullible you are a Korean car made in America, even in they're commercials Kia deceives its customers they advertise that the car is make in the U.S. BUT if you read the fine print on the bottom it says assembled in America form foreign parts. I guess if I'd put honey on shit you would still eat it cause to you its honey.

  • @Nbuilder1 which car is made in us? lol .. non all are assembled here with foreign parts.

  • @hazard389

Its sad but most cars are not made in the U.S. anymore but you can thank the imports that forced the U.S. makers to take things overseas or Mexico to stay competitive. Another nail in the coffin for the U.S. economy. Its sad but most U.S. citizens have no clue as to what they are doing buying an Import next time you guys buy an import check out how much the U.S. is getting and how much is Korea and Japan is getting , Next it will be China cars.

  • @Nbuilder1 See how many parts on a GM car are made in China. You buy GM, is like.buying a car made in China. American companies r paying chinese employees pennies an hour. With the high cost of living here in the US, high taxes, sky high fees & insurance premiums, people are not going to accept less than $20 an hour wages. Yep, nobody's bringing factories here so be grateful Kia is building cars here.

  • Go with the VW GLI

  • It is based on the Ford Taurus, Ford saved Kia.

  • @redneon06 No it isn't

  • I have the new optima, and have never driven a car I've liked more, and I've tested tons... I purchased this over a Genesis as the MPG was better, the options I wanted were cheaper and its much more comfortable. If you don't like Kia's, fine... but I thought they were crap until I owned one, and I probably will never own a Honda again.

  • Nice looking car, and kia and hyundai have come a long way. But itll be a cold day in hell before I ever buy a Korean car

  • Install a Blow off valve on the turbo haha. Kia makes pretty good cars compare to Honda, Acuras and other Japanese makers. GET A BOV and it will flies haha

  • I thought the new Optima SX was going to suck. BOY was I wrong! That thing is nice!

  • it's for 19,900$ in lebanon as a begining .

  • $30,000 HELLLLLL NOOOO

  • the only one for horsepower that beats the optima turbo is the vw passat V6 which pumps out 280 horses!

  • Nice looking car. Yes, Honda and Toyota are good cars, but it's dime a dozen. If you want to blend in and lost among the suburb crowd, Hondas and Toyotas are a good fit. Honestly, no Hondas and Toyotas are head-turners. Even Acuras and Lexuses are the same way. Acuras are especially ugly.

  • i got mine a week ago! i really love it. it is a definitely a head turner. kia used good quality material on this car. i like the turbo. it has the go factor. its a very nice car and good value!

  • I choose this over a BMW. I'm very happy with my decision

  • @adrian97c never choose anything over BMW !!!!

  • I test drove a used 2008 accord coupe v6 6 speed manual. And I was blown away at the quality. Those of u saying Honda is going down are fucking retarded. Honda was the number one selling company 2011. Toyota came second

  • I have no faith in this car. The Hyundai Genesis coupe was a complete cheap disappointment. Kia and Hyundai make really shitty quality cars.

  • $30,000 on a KIA....lol

Nice car...but still lagging far behind Honda in the overall refinement and engineering department. The Accord drives way better as well.

  • @tom11zz884 Had a 06.Accord.with low miles. Nothing but problems, never buying Honda ever again. 5.speed tranny shifts harsh, V6 engine had timing belt problems at 33k miles, harsh bumpy ride on Coupe, rattles everywhere, dealer refused to fix. Toyota, Kia, Nissan & Hyundai are.much better.

  • Comment removed

  • lmao they didn't include the 1/4...cause its embarrassing. lol

  • I personally own a TD Cerato (Forte for the US guys) which comes with the nexen tyre package as well, and if I'm honest the Nexen's are quiet, comfortable and responsive. They're by no means a sports car tyre, but they are very decent if you want a good reliable ride.

As for the Optima... It's not really designed as a sports car... The SX turbo was more designed as a more powerful, and higher trimmed everyday car. Having said that I have found it very responsive and engaging under normal drive!

  • @grasshopper199 I agree. People want ferrari like ride and handling at this price point.

  • just picked up a 2011 SX a few days ago... identical to this car minus the navi and paint (mine's red). freaking thing is sweet! can't wait to break it in and really lay on the gas

  • Very sexy car... kiaturbo.com

  • "a step behind" to what, exactly? an M3 sedan? ISF? keep in mind that this car is in the 30k price range and is hella better than a camry s or accord

  • @ktonlai "Hella" better in what respect?

What he means is, although the Optima Turbo is being marketed as a sports sedan, it's a step behind.

  • @ktonlai I agree. They say they are comparing it to its class but I dont see how.

  • @ktonlai A M3,ISF ! First off they dont even compare to each other.Second the KIA is a im 35yrs old and i have a ok job family sedan. What do you want them to say? Its marketed as a sport sedan and it doesn't do anything special. The same as all of the others in its class.they aren't anything special. If you want performance buy a used BMW 335!

  • @ktonlai the original 4 door sports car: Nissan Maxima

  • @ktonlai

30K price range? Try a Subaru WRX STI or a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Those will smack the doors off of the Kia on a track.

  • @ktonlai definitely not better than a V6 accord, not even close.

  • It's not a BMW, but it doesn't have to be. Different tyres, and it's more than good enough; I wouldn't be taking it to a drag race or rally. It's more than sporty enough for regular driving.

  • ya slaps some decent tires on there and i mean its no bmw m3 but i think it would be a breath of fresh air for a "sporty" sedan

  • new set or tires would help with handling and steering feel

  • Seems to be a pretty nice car...For the amount of HP it has though it's kind of slow. And for whoever says it, this car is not in the same pack as Evolution or Sti. 0-60 times in a (stock!) Evo are almost two full seconds faster and probably as much in the quarter mile.

  • this idiot says its a turbo 4 cylinder than he says 6 cylinder

  • Great car... liked it so much, I bought one... never owned a foriegn car before this one. Got it for the same price as a ford focus (titanium). Couldn't be happier.

  • I Sell for Kia, and I can honestly say the Optima Turbo is an amazing car. Sure it doesn't handle like a Porche or BMW but for the price you can't beat it. I own a Mustang as well ( which I would never sell ) but the Optima is moving art...It's a gorgeous machine and I encourage everyone to at least test drive it for shits and giggles....I guarantee it will provide both of these things! :)

  • Anyone in the market would consider it this due to the fact that the only other Asian models in this price range with this type of performance would be Mitsubishi evo, subaru wrx (but they dropped the ball imho), and maybe the genesis.Toyota and honda's got nothing, and nissan's submission is out of the price range.

  • @hbsub Mazdaspeed3

  • I know several people who have either test drove this car or own one. They all say that, for the price, you cannot beat this car. For $30,000 you cannot expect it to be like other cars in this segment that are $15,000 to $30,000 more. I've watched every review online about it and I am thoroughly impressed. You see a lot more commercials for Honda and Toyota and I think it's because their sales are slipping away. KIA RULES!

  • Hyundai is biggest growing car company but IMO KIA has made biggest jump in design of cars. But interior materials are behind Japanese cars, German not to mention.... Sorry on my english.

  • just stole the lexus design

  • Can't really compare it to a civic... Totally different class. (civic = compact, optima = mid). I've driven several cars thinking I wanted a compact... Until I drove the optima turbo. 25k for a loaded car that isn't a bore to drive. Good finding something comparable for the same price.

  • yeah it is right. for everyday meal I rather go with $20 amusing wine than $1000 high end wine.

  • Drove a Kia sephia for 10 years....not the best cars, but that car took a beating.never left me stranded. Drove it allover the country.but I got it cause it was cheap in price....

  • i want one

  • Both Kumho and Hankook make some great tires, and Kia puts Nexan's on this car.? Boo Kia! Well, at least they'll wear out quickly, and can to be replaced by much better tires.

  • @Motorchevytoyota Was the Malibu tubo charged? If not, it's no wonder there wasn't a problem.

  • @Motorchevytoyota Hmm. Maybe you DIDN'T KNOW how to drive the car...? The new Camry's appearance is a disappointment... Let's be real now.

  • The ridiculous part of all this arguing is all about the turbo lag and how it's not a superfast sports car....they went with a Turbo because it beats V6 power in it's competitors while barely sacrificing mpg...it's not supposed to win any races, although I have to say, this thing is a blast to drive. Of course NO one wants to take a front-heavy family sedan into a tight curve, but for the guy who wants to have fun driving home after work, this easily passes on the highway and is really fun.

  • No wonder Honda sales have dropped.

  • @bufbarnaby they dropped the s2000 and the NSX. of coarse they've dropped.
