There will not be a season 8 but they are or have been discussing the possibility of a two and a half hour movie made for TV to give you all some closure. Getting the two main girls to make up their minds on a few issues is the deciding point at the moment.

i just finished watching the entire show on dvd box sets today and i cried a million times while watching the last two episodes and the relationship between lorelai and rory and it took me a whole year and my mom and i just cried like crazy but im so glad that lorelai and luke arent enemies anymore...i miss this show like crazy already and i couldnt beleive it was over and i still cant beleive it after watching every single deleted scene and episode!

i think th e end shoulf have been, she says no to logan and jess shows up to the party. Rory and jess kiss, they go off to her job. then it goes to a couple of years rory and jess married. Luke and Rory's mom married live in stars hollow. she works in the inn and luke and jess work in at the dinner together, but fight about little things. Rory work and edits the paper of the town

I read on Ausiello that Matt had signed with Gilmore Girls if there was going to be season 8 and the way that it ended was because everything was so rushed due to the cancellation of the show. So meaning that if there had been a season 8 or Going to be a Gilmore movie, Rory/Logan probably wasn't over.
