i live in howell which borders lakewood. they have had alot of crime issues lately. back in the 80's and 90's long branch and asbury were even worse. i remember shootings almost every day. i would sit in ocean grove next to asbury where i lived and listen to police sirens and gunshots over wawa coffee and just smfh. i came home from work at wawa one night, and there was a murder victim outside my bedroom window with police tape. thats when i moved.
