Air force we are strictly firefighters when at home at our base, just like army, and marine. when were deployed we are usually just firefighters but also can volunteer if we have the training, for R.A.M.S team so we can get a chance to kill afew and save some wounded
@puc2015 In the marines everyone is a soldier and then they have their job. Everyone is trained to be a soldier first. I dont know how it works in the Air Force. If there were marine fireman they would be soldiers and fireman. But i couldnt tell you for the Air Force.
Just make sure when you sign up for whatever, Active or Guard, that you get it guaranteed. Like woodmeister said, IN WRITING. I came in guaranteed. Do not go open general, unless you want to be a cop that is.
air guard and reserve hire by open slots, so you'd just have to find a base with a open Fire Protection slot.
Active duty is tougher...most bases are going to civilian contractors...so you have to make sure that you get it...IN WRITING...that you will be a firefighter.
I'd recommend going guard or reserve. whole process is much easier.
I enlisted in june in fire fighting was actually pretty high on the list of needed jobs by the air force so not too hard. I really wanted fire protection but cant because my eye sight.
Good job on the video...
