Cool bike, I have a friend who is looking a a 2012 iron 883. I own a 2010 1200c which he has ridden and he really likes the quickness. He doesnt want to spend almost $11,000 on the nightster, so I must ask, how is the performance on your 883. I cant imagine its a speed demon, but does it have a little get up and go? Thanks!
@bpurdy305 The bike will do 0-60 in around 5 seconds if you get a good launch down. I'm 185lb and the max I could top it at was 105mph. If you look at my other videos I have a video of me launching the bike and you can get a good idea of how quick it picks up.

The problem with Harley haters is that they're on another wavelength. The Harley was never intended to be a performance bike, it was made to cruise & MADE TO LAST. The jappas come & go like trendy clothes & gadgets, go fast for a while then die in the ass & are worth fk-all.
Your average Harley will go slower but for a lot longer & will still hold its worth (or a large % of it) for some time to come. I have been riding for jappas for 25 years - my next bike is a Harley.

Great looking bike. I'm debating on buying the Iron 883 or the new Superlow in the spring. How tall are you? I'm 6'0 and my height is the only thing worrying me. My friends have said I'm too tall for the Sportster frame and should upgrade to a Road King or something similar. I've got my '05 ZZR600 for sale. I'm tired of the sportbikes, I need something to cruise on comfortably and not at 100mph. Nice bike bud.
@95beretta if your still thinking about the sportsters, pick the iron, it looks way nicer and is so much better. I don't know if you've seen either one in person, but the super low looks kinda like the other harleys, while the iron sticks out and in the best way possible. If you are looking for a bigger bike though, the harley fat boy low is the best harley ever in my opinion. I am getting an iron, it looks awesome, its special and is just a great all around cruiser. Hope this helps.

I wouldnt say this is at all a grls bike at all and all my frieds who have sport bikes love the way it rides and how comfortable it is.

I can handle the 883 i just have to really practice. So no it definitely not a girl's bike. However, with great practice a woman can ride it. I love mine. Plus, I have trouble putting it in Neutral. I'm learning and determine to ride it. My hubbie and son love it.

Harleys you can drive for 5 years, sell it, and either make a profit or loose a little money. Other than harley, victory, indian, no other biker manufactures can do that. All those japanese bike companies loose their value.

I like the new HD48. Its a sweet looking bike. I think If I knew the HD48 was out I probably would of went with the 48 instead. Although the only real differences is the flipped mirrors, which is the easiest thing you can do with the Iron 883. The HD48 has the bigger tire in the front and forward controls. If I really wanted to I could make the Iron look like the HD48 for a lot less than the HD48 is worth.
Agreed. I wonder how much it would cost to widen the front forks and get a bigger tire on it, along with the mirrors and the recessed tach, and boost the the engine to 1200cc? I bought the bike for $7,999. The flipped mirrors cost nothing, The tach is an easy DIY mod and the kit for the 1200 conversion is 750$. I like the HD48 but I wouldnt upgrade my iron. If I didnt have my bike yet i probably would of gone with the HD48
Nice! I've got the same exact bike. I'm putting some black V&H short shots on it soon, I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. Until then, the pipes and the heavy breather are going to sit in my closet.
@vitric I need mods too. I wanted to go with the short shots but I decided i want to put rear sets on it and I'm not sure if the short shots will get in the way. I might need a 2-1 exhaust.
If I may jump in, your bike is beautiful man don't have any regret regarding the 48. I think the 48 has a different philosophy. Yes it has a bigger engine, but it also has a smaller thank, and the riding position doesn't look very comfy either :-)
On a nice weekend I will take it out to the country roads here in Texas and ill put a good 150 mile trip in. The seat is hard and so is the suspension so I don't take trips like that too much. I mostly drive around in the city.

The seat is the factory solo seat that comes with the sportster. Its not very comfortable to ride with 2 people even for short distances.

I like the new HD48. Its a sweet looking bike. I think If I knew the HD48 was out I probably would of went with the 48 instead. Although the only real differences is the flipped mirrors, which is the easiest thing you can do with the Iron 883. The HD48 has the bigger tire in the front and forward controls. If I really wanted to I could make the Iron look like the HD48 for a lot less than the HD48 is worth.

Agreed. I wonder how much it would cost to widen the front forks and get a bigger tire on it, along with the mirrors and the recessed tach, and boost the the engine to 1200cc? By the way, do you mind if I asked how much you got this bike for? I was looking at this bike and the dealershipos here are asking $7000 brand new, not bad at all....

I bought the bike for $7,999. The flipped mirrors cost nothing, The tach is an easy DIY mod and the kit for the 1200 conversion is 750$. I like the HD48 but I wouldnt upgrade my iron. If I didnt have my bike yet i probably would of gone with the HD48

Nice! I've got the same exact bike. I'm putting some black V&H short shots on it soon, I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. Until then, the pipes and the heavy breather are going to sit in my closet.

@vitric I need mods too. I wanted to go with the short shots but I decided i want to put rear sets on it and I'm not sure if the short shots will get in the way. I might need a 2-1 exhaust.

If I may jump in, your bike is beautiful man don't have any regret regarding the 48. I think the 48 has a different philosophy. Yes it has a bigger engine, but it also has a smaller thank, and the riding position doesn't look very comfy either :-)

On a nice weekend I will take it out to the country roads here in Texas and ill put a good 150 mile trip in. The seat is hard and so is the suspension so I don't take trips like that too much. I mostly drive around in the city.
