Ya know...I love this promo. You can show both a women kissing a baby. Then A Baltimore Street Strip Club(Free Ad). Then a little boy running with a football(looking so cute might I ad)
I'm wondering if channel 11 was still an NBC station at the time. I know it switched to CBS around 1981, like around the time I was born, which was back in August.
WOW! Thank You So Much! This really is an incredible intro, and makes the current stuff seem so boring in comparison. I love all the eye candy of Baltimore's past in here: old Police Cars, and even the "Downtowner" bus! And that's before you include the other goodies like the Colts, Orioles, Norm Lewis with a creepy do' and Stan Stovall with a mini-fro! PURE GOLD! :)
The Hambrick brothers seem to lead the league in old newscast appearances on You Tube !! Clevland, Baltimore, Miami, Phoneix .. And I'm sure left somewhere out.
Dumb question: Does anyone know why does Washington, DC and Baltimore area which are less than 40 miles apart, have 'separte' local network station affilates?
Why was this video taken off in the past? Good to see it back on youtube agian, and back in my favorites. I was born a year after this aired in baltimore!
Currently, in 2007, Mike Hambrick hosts a weekly, nationally-syndicated radio show, "America's Business" for The National Association of Manufacturers (for whom he serves as Senior Vice President of Communications). He also very handsomely sports the Kojak look, having given-up hair pieces. (For a recent photo, Google the words "knew Mike Hambrick bald"; Choose the "cached" version of "dcrtv com - mailbag" and scroll down the page.)

This came approximately six months prior to the affiliate switchover to CBS from NBC (when it used the "Proud as a Peacock" 2nd edition campaign).
