Here's my list of the best symphonic metal bands

1: Therion (The originals. Although I HATE their lyrics, their opera style is a wonder to behold).

2: Haggard (Need I say more about how they use metal and classical together? You even ask yourself what genre it is. Symphonic? Classical? Operatic? Doom? We'll never know.

3: Nightwish (Yes, NW. I said it. They compose beautifully). And even though they changed from an operatic singer to a much mainstream one, they make masterpieces.
