  • nice jams man

  • Great playing. The A102 was tagged as the "most hideous Hammond", however, I like the French Provincial styling of its cabinet. But that's me and I'm partial to it. Have an M-101 currently.

  • the ending part sounds like a funeral tune with just the leslie on

  • Hi. In the organ, the A0-28 preamp the tone control must adjusting to full bright.

Volume on the leslie turn max. My two standars presets:

    Wilth perc 3rd, soft, fast: 888------------ and bright tone: 888 000 008

  • I've got an A-100 and a 351, also. But I can't play like that. And for what ever reason, mine doesn't have the brightness yours has in this video no matter what registrations I try. Must be it's age showing. I'll continue to use mine for the slow stuff I can play and continue to watch in awe you guys that can really make them shine.

  • A ha Georgia on my Mind. You play that very nicely,

  • Nice,

    dante

  • Super..that Rock,s...great sound

  • nice man!! artis brown gary'indiana organist

  • Great sound !! It's really good.

  • That shorty/decorative home model 351 cab has a distinctive "thunk" to it on the bass that I like--and more mellow horn sound (from the horn being down low?)--I like it too!! Is the reverb hooked up in the Leslie?--with that 8253 kit???

  • @ppeterso22 Yes, the reverb separetely hooked on static Leslie channel. Not the 8253 kit. I made on the organ and leslie the today's 11 pin plugs. Read my info.

  • Wow yeah I got a Auto-Vary 64 hooked to my Conn # 645 Theater Organ, smooth digital sound accompanying a sweet soft and sultry Old School Tube Organ! very very good indeed! post more Video's Please! :) :) Makes me feel that i have been neglecting my CONN. lol :) :)

  • Killin it sounds very good makes me want a hammond so bad

  • you really must post a video of how you do those quick runs.

  • solo una palabra: suuuuuuuave!

  • The most enjoyable Georgia on my mind I've listened to other than the late Ray Charles'

  • Haha, that's an Auto Vari 64! I've got one of those

  • You are a very good pianist. Buetifull sound!!!!!

  • i need to go see willie again he's always nearby

  • time to start a killer blues band

  • My band now Fillmore Est. Video: Hot Lanta on youtube.

  • Leslie I love you!

  • great playing

  • OMG that is one of my favorite Hammond console ever produced!!! I myself have an M-143 spinet model that I also love a lot! POST MORE!!! Great video! :-)

  • Thank you for this post! :) I like it! :)

  • The sound of that organ always make me cry...

  • fantastic playing ! ! !

love hammond organ with leslie drive, can't find such sound any longer, matchless ! ! !

  • My my my! There's not a sound like a Hammond organ! NO NOT ONE!

  • Bravo!

  • wow Great job, What's the name of the Piece?

  • Georgia On My Mind

  • super..............

  • Génial. Ce son... c'est du rêve. Je ne m'en lasse pas.

  • fantastic!

  • The Best I Ever Heard

  • ????? whaaa???

r u kidding? no offense meant, but.... really??

here: enjoy! (aka drool then cry)

  • what is the name of this song please ?

  • Nothing. Improvisations on Georgia On My Mind theme.

  • Good sound and nice playing.

  • Great looking instrument - my R100 has the silly drum machine build into the top and it looks massive. This is far more slender looking.

  • Bravoooo...CEM-TURKEY

  • Amazing

  • How i would love to have a one of these organs.

Im just 17 and i cant afford one.. :(

  • Just keep an Eye on Craigslist. I sometimes pick up free ones that have sat for over 20 years, give it some oil, wait a few weeks and start it up and plays fairly well, You'll want to read up on the Hammond WIKI for the proper care and feeding of these beasts before you pick them up and move them.

  • Well done!

  • back again to listen. Love this video. A few months ago I told you that my Aunt could play like you. Well she passed away 3 weeks ago. Now I'll listen to you to remind me of her music. Keep it coming! It's awsome.

  • Sorry to hear about your Aunt.

  • Thanks for your thoughts. She sounded just like him playing. When I listen to him, I can see my Aunt playing her Hammond in my mind.

  • Hatalmas zene. Élőben milyen csodálatos lehet hallgatni!

  • Köszönöm. A legjobb dolog.

  • very nice

  • Awsomeness in it's most distilled form... Woah

  • TehTube has it for sure!!! I just bought a M-102 off a friend just so I can hopefully hit one out of 60 chords like Tehtube!

    Keep it coming!!

  • sir,you are an inspiration,i have viewed this clip well over 50 times ! - i have always been a fan of the hammond sound - your clip has made me want to own and play a hammond-so i have just purchased a hammond x5 and leslie 670-now i just need to learn to play ! thank you for posting this inspirational clip...loz (uk)

  • Pedal plays basses;)

  • What does the pedal do? Control the volume?

  • the right foot pedal yes

  • "Hammond Auto-Vari 64 drum machine from 1976. Connected into the Hammond A0-28 preamp phono-radio input."

I,m about to buy this drum machine, but was not aware I could plug it into the organ preamp. I have a b3 and a leslie 122. This way the drumsound will be heard in the leslie?

    Thanks

  • Yes i plug the drum machine into the A0-28 preamp, and the signal go from this into the leslie. You heard my Auto-vari via 351 leslie.

  • Have you got any other clips we can download, even just MP3s ? I can see another organ lurking there too...what's that one ??!! And do your neighbours appreciate the sound ? Keep up the good work

  • Thanks. Downloadable on the net nothing, but why not in the future? :-)

  • Well its alright, but not as good as my Technics u90......!!!! Seriously good sound and playing. I lost the clip on youtube but found it again. Absolutely marvellous, well done

  • yeaaa. i dig it

  • Your rig sounds killer. Modern gear can't touch vintage Hammond/Leslie. My gear: '64 A100 with 122, '58 M3 with 247. Nice work, keep it up!

  • Thanks. Yes. Original ABC (and M3) much more better than clones. I had these. Now complete upgraded 1936 model A and three speed Leslie142. See my further videos and Rhoda Scott in 2008.

  • Funky.

  • WOW, why the Hell aren't you famous? That was some spirited playin' son!

  • i loved this

  • it's nice to see that you aren't afraid to just hold a note out and really let it be heard for that beautiful tone. Great Leslie sound. (just got my 351 and 147)

  • That was great. :O

  • i dont know much about hammond organs, so are there built in speakers for the organ or is that amp going elsewhere in the room to dif speakers?

  • Simultan worked the leslie with rotatic sound and teh built PA with static sounder speakers.

  • GEORGIA!

  • Similar, not exactly

  • you know why i don't put up videos of me and my A100?

    CUZ I"M NOT THIS GOOD!

look at this guy kickin bass / tasty runs / sweet tone... where do i sign up for lessons?

  • man u is freakin dat organ bro keep it up God bless ya

  • WONDERFUL!!!

  • Unbelievable!! I would play my T400 like you do. Thank You

  • Maximum brightness, never else.

By buss bar shifting must hold down all keys in actual keyboard.

  • how far would you recommend turning up the tone control on the hammond a143? I hear a lot of organs that have a very defined key click.

I want more key click sound :-)

I turned the bus bar shifter a little...that helped a little bit.

  • Six minutes and fifty one seconds of pure heaven. That was truely impressive! I mean that was incredible. I bet that roar just shakes the whole house. A+, 100% and 5 stars from me!

  • Thanks :-)

  • beautiful :)

  • man, tis is amazin!! well played!! love the sound...

  • One Word, AWESOME.

  • pure beauty

    absoutly beautiful music.

  • HELL Yea... I played a A100 I was picking up for someone and it had a 351... Sounded Freaking Great.. From that moment on. I figured if I ever got in the position to get one in my area I would.. Love the the little jam you do .. I must be like the other guy ..what he posted...he'd said he's watched it 25 times.. I must not be that behind.. God I love that Great sound of this combination of leslie and organ..Very very Sweet.. play on.

  • i love all of it, but i really like the way it sounds as you go down scale @ 1:47

  • OK OMG I must be addicted. I have watched this like 25 times now. But it's so damn good!!!

  • Thank You. 8^)

  • Really nice playing.

  • Buccellozzo da vecchio?

  • nou mooi hoor prachtig

  • Damn..This is ..................Nice-

  • Yeah, excellent :)

  • Excellent player!

  • OMG, Your awsome. Nothing like the sound of a hammond organ. Brings back memories of when my Aunt played this way back in the 70's. Made me tear up with the memories. Please post more of your great music. Could you please post you playing sweet Georgia brown? I loved to hear her play it Thanks.

  • WOW! I love this sound! Amazing...

  • Outstanding! Thanks for posting!

  • Nice chops man.

  • you've got an absolutely killer sound there my friend. when you smashed that high note open I was petrified.good one

  • I know what you mean... scared the shit out of me too!

  • Precioso!

    Yo quiero un Hammond...

    Aaarggggh!!!

  • Holy shit! I am also an organ player, and

please allow me to bow to thee. This sounds absolutely fantastic!

  • That Rocked!

  • That's brilliant

There is nothing quite like the sound of a Hammond Organ

There used to be a Hammond Organ in Abbey Hey Working Mans club Gorton Manchester.

  • Wow. This is one of the best videos I've seen in a very long time. That's amazing.

  • Wery good....... Wery good..... Man I wich I had one Hammond...... Nothing over, nothing besides (not even a Continental, but it has it own cool sound). You got talent......

  • Awesome.

  • FUCK, that drives!!! Amazing sound - LOVE IT!

  • I love that sound mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • guess you would call that playing the blues

  • Superb - wonderful rich tones, lovely playing. Just wish my wife would let me have a XK1 ! No room or money for a proper tonewheel !

I like the drums though, a real retro sound and kind of a classic in itself. Any chance of some more clips ?

I could just listen to the left hand chords on their own.

  • I could just listen to someone play like this for days. Didn't like the drums at all though. Great work on the organ!

  • Really nice.

  • Nothing like a Hammond A100/B3/C3 with a Leslie. Rich, deep, soulful. Mix that with an channel going to a Marshall amp and you'll shake the neighborhood. ;)

  • the beat is kind of similar to the beat used in The Beatles hit: Oh Darling from Abbey Road

  • Daaaaaamn!!! Makes me prowd to be from Gawga!

  • You Rock Man!!! Let God Use u ! Keep on Playing..I miss Ray!!!

  • isnt that "Georgia on my mind"?

  • Kind of... But with some improvisation.

  • Brings back memories but what is the name of the song?

  • From Georgia, but not exactly. Only improvisation.

  • I would pay someone to play my brothers Hammond B-3

  • What's the console on top?

  • Hammond Auto-Vari 64 drum machine from 1976. Connected into the Hammond A0-28 preamp phono-radio input.

  • What a great job........No sound can compete with the soul of a Hammond...Truly mean, lowdown, blue and sexy, truly..

    I need a shot and a beer..

  • This one made me cry it was so pretty.

  • Great stuff. Hammond sound with Leslie can never be achieved with computers. Brings back memories of "The Torch" Cabaret in Vancouver, 1968.

  • nice work mate.I wet through the Royal School of music and the Sothern Music training college in London in the 80's on Jazz organ and thats as good as I heard.Nice.I had a Hammond Aurora Classic 500 until i migrated, then had to leave her behind!!

    Paul Canberra, Australia.

  • Well, what a lovely Hammond world.....!

A very good Hammond organ demo.

To make short, I would say that:

    - positive: good mastering of the settings that make or not the Hammond organ sound, overall good feeling throughout the piece;

    - negative: several "clichés" repeated several times.

It'a pity not to have a real drummer (the player actually fights against his drums machine...!).

I whish I'll be able to approach this level in the next upcoming years.....

  • true :-)

  • BAEUTIFULL

  • Wow, I dont know what to say but that was certainly worth watching! Thanks!!

  • Ez k*rva jó, gratulálok! Bárcsak én is így tudnék játszani :) Megoldható valahogy, hogy eljuttasd nekem az AV64 hangmintáit? :)

  • great!

  • HEY-YOU ARE GREAT--nice a music,BUT you need a real DRUMMER , call ME!!

  • Yess i need, thank you. Cheers from Hungary :-)

  • bravo.

  • I love the sound of a tonewheel organ. That was great.

  • Very strong organ hammond a 102 grande suono sembra un hammond b3.tanks

  • nice

  • what are your drawbar settings

  • Hi, upper the typical: 888000008 with or no third, fast, soft percussion, c3 vib. (Percussion silented the last 1' drawbars)

Lower, maybe 007744000, no vib. Pedal, 72.

  • thanks man, you sound great.

  • great sound.

  • Well played! Good sound; You are a real artist.

  • You play with soul. Well done:

    Rev. Michael Capps, D.D., Th.D, Ph.D

  • what college did u go too man? I know u aint got all these degrees legit. WHere did u buy your degrees from?

  • Dude, all I gotta say is....RIGHTEOUS...

Seriously. Love it man, love it...

  • Georgia awsome tune, I sold my C-3 Hammond this winter the new B-3's are awsome hard to hear the difference, Tone Generators rule for sure, Great playing

  • very nice work. how does the autovari connect? does it just go into the hammond or the leslie?

  • On the organ preamp stay one silver volume box. On this box is radio-phono plug IN. I connected there with mono jack-RCA cable. This is no volume adjusted organ input.

    Thanks, Zs.

  • digital hammond sux,it's from suzuki , that's why :) This is beautiful..... :) analogue :)

  • Definitely nothing like that Hammond Sound

  • now that is a hammond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10.000 x better than al that digital shit of today.

  • "Wow" is all I can say.

Such aura, space and a discovered confidence.

I'd like to not challenge you - because you clearly know one or two standards But I'd love to jame with you! I'll bring along my Hammond C3 and we'll see what becomes.

We'd be able to teahc each other a few tricks of the trade over a beer or ten.

Keep up the great work in what you do my friend!

  • Playing is perfect! So is the sound.

What a nice roar! I don't like jazz Hammond like Joey deFrancesco that much, prefer Jon Lord rock sound. And soul of your organ seems to be in between. Really nice video.
