  • Thank You!!! I just love this vid and forget the haters because this is a cute hairstyle. I have midlength sisterlocks and I was so desperate for a cute, curly hairstyle to wear to a wedding in two weeks. I'm out the door to grab some straws now.lol And by the way great personality and sense of humor!lol:-)

  • a male person can wear a straw set because its a non-gender style.

  • really? aweome sorry if i upset yhoo or whoever ?

  • Its not a gross style! Of course she's a woman!

  • AWW cute kitty!

  • LOL. You're awesome. The video was very informative as well. I'm actually in my 4th month of transitioning and it's already a hassle! I have natural friends cheering me on and permed friends smacking their teeth at me! I think I'll stay committed to going natural though.

  • Thanks sweetie.

Let me tell you... life can be a hassle, but we get through those times. Expecting things to be perfect alll of the time is unrealistic. That's how and why I got through the tough beginning stage of locing. I thought, "I'm not so above erbody/thang that I can't suffer a little". So I just went forward and dealt with every bad hair style day. Now, 1 yr 4 mths later, I'm a happy camper. Being natural is your God given right! Exercise it.

Peace and not too much hair grease.

  • Love the Cat!!

  • LOVE the cat cameos! LOL

  • Oh girl I feel like we are old friends, I love your videos and your personality--the cat is an added bonus that has me laughing out loud. I too am in a loc journey, almost 3 months. I am loving it. I rolled mine for the first time this week and love the style ability. Just wanted to let you know you are inspriring us newbies and helping us get through the ugly duckling phase. Thanks!!!

  • Hang in there. It's a beautiful thing. I'm still antsy about gaining length, but so far, so good.

  • Great Video...Really needed to see this...Don't have locs just natural...would it be better to sleep in them or sit under the dryer? What do you prefer?

  • I would try both. If you can sleep in them, then you'll save on electicity! I prefer to sleep in my rollers. It's the clips I can't sleep in.

  • Great video and beautiful hair!

  • YOu are so funny...Love your videos. I am thinking about locing my hair as well. When you first locked your hair what method did you use?

  • I started with coils.

Please post pics if you start your locs.

  • You're so funny. I've seen your other videos and your locs are so long. So cute.

  • Thank you

  • Great video! Great cat!

  • Yes! The cat is great. I love the cat.

  • Girlfriend thank you for the steps....I knew it could be done at home!

  • Absolutely! I think we should do for self, and save a $ in the interim.

  • U are hilarious!! I love the music in the background, what is it?

    One Love

  • I thank you for showing us how to style with the straws, I have the same hair length and I'm going to try it and see how it looks on me. You are very pretty and so is Butter, lol. Hey, I thought I act silly at times, guess we will never stop being little girls, lol, have a wonderful time doing videos I enjoy them.

  • don't flip too much and break your neck !!! great vid!!

  • is your hair natural in this video or were you transitioning? Can this be done with relaxed hair?

  • Strawsets can def. be done on relaxed hair.

  • natural, locked hair. I'm sure you can staw set relaxed hair. Try it and let's us see.

  • u agree how lon gdo you leave them in, i would have loved to see the finished result.

  • ya know, I probably should have show the result. Right now my hair has grown so much it may take a really, really long time to do a straw set. But now that I think about it, I think I will try it. I just need long straws at this point.

  • I love ur voice, but wanna know 'bout how long do you leave the straws in before taking them for style?

  • Thanks for the voice complement.

I usually leave a set in overnight. But if i'm in a hurry, I'll wet set (with water and oil) and sit under a dryer.

  • Girl, you're fabulous! Thanks for sharing that. I can't wait to try it!! :)

  • Please post pics.

  • You explained the process very well. Thanks a lot!

  • Hey Girl!!!

I finally tried the straw set, and it turned out nice. I laughed while I was rolling my locs because your voice was playing in my head. You are too funny!! Luv ya!

  • That's great! I love the straw set to. It really makes for a richer, tighter curl. Any pics?

  • I love you, you are so funny....your voice is the best.

  • Thanks babes! Kisses and all kinds of hugs.

    HANG IN THERE

  • have you had a probem with the shea butta leavin buildup in your locs..and if you dont mind me askin how often do you wash your locs?

  • i've only been locked for 6 or 7 weeks. I had to wait, of course, 4 weeks before the first wash. I decided to wait until week 5 and that was two Sundays ago.

I think that as long as you put on a cap, the heat from your head should melt the shea butter leaving no build up.
