  • Thought I was the only one scared with this. Together with the unsolved mysteries intro, made me shiver when I was 6-8.

  • yeah this and in search of scard the live,n shit out,a me

  • Nice touch on the Parkay commercial! Those was my favorite commercials when I was a kid.

  • La intro de TV màs aterradora.

  • vidio indo is the best

  • I remember this show when I was in Grade 4 here in Manila, this was shown sometime in 1995. One of my favorite shows of all time

  • The music and the images on Ripley's intro used to scare the FUCK out of me!! But it was a cool show though! I remember it would come on right before MacGuyver on ABC!!!

  • @mysterEize You were scared of this intro? HAHAHA! Not me! I thought it was neat!

  • The haunted toys r us store in Sunnyvale, California. The haunted school. The hotel room with the eyes on the unplugged tv. Tell me where to find these episodes! The guy chops his leg, and dies, but hauntes Toys r us.

  • @compsciguy I know that the Haunted Toys 'R' Us store was featured in a That's Incredible episode. I haven't heard of the eyes on the TV one. I'll have to search around for it.

  • @compsciguy I remember the hotel room with the TV with eyes! I think it was Unsolved Mysteries, because I remember them recreating the eyes with special effects, and that wasn't something That's Incredible could do. That one scared the crap out of me too... the guy was spending the night in the hotel room, he looks at the TV in the darkness and sees two large eyes suddenly appear.

  • I remember I use 2 watch this as a kid!!! It brings back so many memories!!!

  • whats not to believe about dristan sinus and it´s headache relief?

  • "Believe it" *pause*

What the hell is taking him so long!?

    "Or Not."

    jeez

  • @MrHankeyy It's called gravitas.

  • @MrHankeyy He ALWAYS said it like that! If he only knew how hard I used to laugh at him! (I did like the show)

  • This brings back memories of my childhood. I used to watch this in elementary school. Gosh, I feel old.

  • i love corn, while doing one handed push-ups.

  • Why does that intro scare the shit outta me?

  • This guy's much better than Dean Cain.

  • Just looked Jack up; was not aware he was Ukrainian! His original name was Volodymyr! LOL Cool little trivia factoid.

  • LOL!! Love the Parkay commercial! Funny and cute! Forgot about that one! :)

  • @ozzrael yep those were the days I remember some hurtin' fake wood clicker box thing that had a cord!!! and colecovision... wannna play tennis or hockey?

  • Them neon faces jutting towards me always scared the sh!t out of me as a kid!

  • Jack Palance or Robert Stack?..whose voice was more mysterious as a TV host narrator?

  • @richiebear1969 They both were equal in the mysterious and spook factor, in my opinion. I like Unsolved Mysteries more though so I am more partial to Robert Stack. LOL

  • use to scare the shit outta me when they went on commercial break with factoids and the eerie music

  • This wasn't so much a bad show as the fact it was on the same time slot as Punky Brewster, which I didn't always get to see because we only had the one television and if Dad wanted to watch something else,he often got his way.

  • this and "in search of". that was the good days of tv.

  • This show used to scare the crap out of me... I was only 7-8, but seriously, even now the 0:15 - 0:25 part is some surreal, unsettling, spooky shit. I love it!

  • @hawaiidispenser

I thought I was the only one! The theme, especially the opening 20 seconds, would give me nightmares. Jack Palance's creepy voice and mannerisms were really over the top scary to a child!! It was like the show was hosted by a vampire! Believe It, Or Not!!!

  • @MrBlackSW Exactly! His mannerisms were unusual and thus "otherworldly", like when they film Dracula walking in reverse footage so that something would seem odd about him that you couldn't put your finger on.

When I see the impaled skull, I'm being reminded that we are all mortal and that the universe/fate is a strange and deadly place that does not care my little life.

  • Creepy TV shit......I love it....thanks for posting...

  • what is the the squigly thing after the names title

  • Yeesh, this theme creeped me out when I was a kid!

  • Damn old school.

  • @lexxypexxy no, dam u.

  • 1983 was good year i use to love this show

  • I enjoyed seeing the intro as well as the retro commercials. Thanks!

  • They should put the entire series on DVD and sell it as a box set.

What a great series it was!

  • gives me goose bumps when I hear this again... ooooh the memories!!!

  • @Hydralika

Exactly I used to watch it on Sci-Fi every morning at 8am pst!

  • OLD SCHOOL SCI FI BABY!!! NEVER GETS OLD

  • I wish we had commercials like that right after the intro today :D:D:D:D:D

  • I remember this show very well...Don't know why they don't show it anywhere. It was a good show. Sy fy could show it, or even one of the many Disc. channels out there.

  • @thepouge1 Sy Fy did show it in the mid 90s ... I have plenty of VHS originals my dad recorded ... including the commerials ... this is one of them from my collection.

  • @robfergusonjr Nice. Might have to give amazon.com, or Ebay a try and breakdown and buy the set...Thanx for posting.

  • @robfergusonjr I might have to break down and buy the set. Was a great show...

  • i'm scare, i'm becoming old.

  • Jack Palance kind of creeped me out on this show as a kid. I would most definitely not have accepted candy from him

  • I wish commercials were still like that and not

WHEN I HAF UN ATHMUH ATTAH

    I FEEL SCARE

SOMTHIEM LIE PARENTH HATH TO TA ME TO DA HOTHKABIDAL

I FEEL LIEK A FITH WI NO WAAAAAAAADERRRRRR

  • This opening sequence was Nightmare Fuel for me when I was 12. The creepy skull coming at you in the darkness...the demon head...The electro head...Brrrr!

Not AS scary now, but it DOES give me chills...

    Creepy!

  • @GigglingRomulan what demon head? you mean the Chinese candle man?

  • @robfergusonjr : Yup. With the horns. Right after the impaled skull.

This opening was just SO creepy...Nightmare fuel to me as a boy...Brrrr! *rubs arms as if freezing*

    Greg

  • When will they release it on DVD or atleast air it again? I miss this show. I feel sorry for anyone too young to remember that TV was once entertaining.

  • I wish I could own this show on DVD.

  • What is it with the fat guy?

  • when commercials wouldn't last a bit :')

  • this and "in search of" with lenard nemoy were the sh*t back then for these type of show. thanks for this

  • such an amazing show ...... WoW .... i didnt see it in ages ... i miss it so much now

  • I was always petrified/fascinated with that skull, sunday night in the den, 7:30 central, dinner eaten, mom in the kitchen washing the dishes, laying belly down, chin cradled in my hands with my little brother next to me, all the lights out, winter wind cracking branches outside...a commercial for a new movie, a commercial for intellevision, and then, out of inky blackness this horrifying skull skewered by an iron spike, and all I could think of was my mother's voice "see that? Horseplay."

  • Brilliant intro! thay don't make it like that anymore.

  • I grew up with "Believe it Or Not". I was born in '80 but I remember this and I never more watched a TV program like this. There was interesting things that are subjects to many discussion groups around the world (cryopreservation of persons, cloning, History, deforestation or biological attack). I have learned a lot with this TV program. It’s a program to be remembered.

  • incredible song henry mancini amazing

  • wow, nice bonus classic commercials at the end

  • This show was great, Jack Palance was perfect and his daughter was fine!

  • The best 80's show ever!

  • i like the old school BION than the newest ones. Jack Palance had that creepy "have you checked on the children" voice which made anything freaking interesting. I wish there was more of this on yt not the newest ones T_T

  • beautifull music!!!

  • Henry Mancini!!!! Ki ki ki ma ma ma! Genius!

  • loved this show

  • I remember this, Dark Room, Fantasy Island and classic Star Trek being my favorite shows in my teens! Totally cheesy now!

  • The flavor says parkay but my tastebuds say "poison"

  • r.i.p jack palance.

  • What a flashback!!! I loved this show!!! Thanks for the Parkay commercial, too!

  • remembers me my childhood

  • omfg, love that descending diminished 5th trill at the end, it used to give me the creeps when i was a little boy, XD

  • @777Ferrari * ascending... ah, whatever, XD

  • lol, omg.

  • i love the parkay butter commercial! do you have in spanish?

  • First and best ever incarnation of this show. Jack Palance's delivery, with so many variations on the 'pregnant pause', was perfect.

  • wow, they don't have commericals like these nowadays.

  • That "murmering" Rhodes EP in the beginning(you can even hear the pedal being released!) and the string glissando MAKES this!

  • jack palance made this show great . the way he told the stories .he was the best story teller. wish it would come out on dvd ? thanks muzikman

  • man I LOVED the cmmercials!!!! I remember those two!! Almost like it was yesturday~ was it??

  • I wrote am I ment pm..lol

  • I live in a suburb of Cleveland Ohio. This show used to come on about 7 or 7:30 am at night. It sometimes was depressing..lol the weird stories. Makes me still miss that time period. The difference in commericals..If you count today. there is about 3 mintues worth of commercials nowdays.. I just did time count.. there is only about 1 minutes worth of commercials here.

  • I used to watch and tape this show here in Brazil every week. This was my favorite tv show ever.

  • Another great show & host...agree with most of you...remember, we watched this through a child's eyes so we saw creepy images (LOL!) & heard sinister chords/melody that made the show memorable....old school is the BEST school of all! Great post muzikman74!

  • i remember i used to be scared of the b/w person that came after jack palance (r.i.p) said, "challange you to, (the b/w person:) "believe it or not".

  • This music still creeps me out

  • @mburch1974 I still love that music

  • butttttteeerrrr

  • Television was entertaining back then.

  • @ lowellriggsiam:

Trust me, that's only nostalgia speaking. TV back then is the same as TV of any post-1970 age...it's 90% shit and a solid waste of time.

Notice I say 90%. There's still plenty of brilliance from it...but, as always, you have to dig under mounds of turd to find it...

  • I used to watch it every week 1983-86!

  • great song

  • Anyone got a clip of the show where they talk about the Korean wedding?

  • WOW, I was just transported back to my childhood! Thank you for posting this :D

  • Great music! I used to watch this show every week. What I remember most is the crazy way Jack Palance BREATHED. Freaked the sh*t out of me.

  • @vancouver03 bel-lieve it hhhhhhhor not

  • I feel old as shit now. I watched this on a TV with a DIAL KNOB!!!

  • LOL - I hear ya.

  • @ozzrael I had old RCA tv with the dial knob when I used to watch this great show.

  • @ozzrael me too!!!!

  • Hey guys does anybody remember an episode with this guy having a big fan on and a big frame painting with his bare hands the face of Jhon lennon in like a 2 mins??

Well my questuon is i u do whats the name of the song the play while he's painting?!!!!!

    Plz plz

    Let me know

  • This show together with Cosmos were the best T.V programmes ever produced

  • @sscrystal10 Yeah! Those two were great! You should look for James Burkes Connections series too. That was a really good one as well.

  • the beginning of this used to scare the hell out of me

  • OMG, tv WAS awesome!! now it just sux.

  • @vintagestarwars So true, I feel exactly the same. I remember being excited to watch this every Sunday night. I can't say that about a single show that's on today.

  • @vintagestarwars or atleast its just good for playing our next gen consoles =p

  • HAHAHA AWESOME COMMERCIALS

  • The newer version with Dean Cain can't hold a candlestick to the Jack Palance version, this show was terrific, RIP Jack Palance...

  • can some upload the theme from 2000?

  • Jack Palance was a class person, wish we had the whole introduction here, believe it, or not.

  • I saw a rerun of this in the mid 1990s and Jack Palance was talking about the man who was US President for one day. Then I got a chill down my spine because he was talking about this outside a courthouse and guess what the name of the courthouse was?

    Clinton.

  • that's amazing that after 20 years ripleys logo looks kinda the same

  • it reminds me of twilight zone. idk why.

  • the intro was kind of creepy, doesn´t?

  • yes it is

  • he was born in my town and he went to high school hear as will. he is bared hear. he his the ground with his mom and dad. he went to Santa Rosa H.S

    Should go like that...

  • man that was aweomo!!

  • Yeah, this used to scare me too, ha ha. Sounds awesome today.

  • R.I.P Jack Palance.

  • wow

  • this is perfect

  • i miss jack palance (r.i.p).

  • how did he die??

  • All I can find on that is "natural causes". As scary as he sometimes seemed to be, I'm sure he would've been great to know as a person. Believe it...... or not.

  • Show some respect for the dead kid

  • I remember the last time I watched this show was when I was 3 or 4 years old! The opening, where the heads are zoomed, scared me senseless back then. I haven't seen this in over twenty-two years!

  • ok

    kool

  • damn this theme is dope. I think I'm gonna sample it....

  • Aagh! Jack Palance!..Aagh! A skull with a knife through it!..Aaagh! A Chinese guy!..Aaaaagh! A grinning electrocuted old dude!.. Aaaaagh! A cowboy on a balloon!..Oh, OMG, thank god that's over...phew!

  • This show used to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid... ESPECIALLY the theme song. I think I'm gonna go see a therapist...

  • Maybe I should get Ripley's to pay for it!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Do they still make new epidoes of ripely's belielive or not?

  • Last time was about a few years ago.

  • the logo is still practilly the samee!!!!

  • its amazing how they have improved and how they are still on. its an awsome show

  • As for the 1st commercial; I really can't enjoy Italian opera. Too loud & obnoxious. I much prefer German opera. It's more about music, & less about showing off.

  • Ripley's Believe it Or Not! very very interesting ....so many interesting people.....very interesting museums. !!!

  • Fantastic intro music, scared me when I was younger. This and Arthur C Clarkes Mysterious World show.

  • please dont get rid of the commercials!

  • Okay, the Dristan one I can handle, but "MIMIMIMIMIMI BUTTA PARKAY BUTTA!!!!!!".... ugh! Annoying!

  • When I was a kid I thought his name was Jack PaLANCE. So to me, it was strange... bizarre... and unexpected... to find out it was Jack PALance. Oh well, I still prefer to say Jack PaLANCE. I think it sounds better.

    Believe it................... or not.

  • You Do Know That He's Passed Away?.

  • Yeah... Ol' Jack passed on Nov. 10, 2006. That was sad, but he did live a good long life.

  • I'm Sure He Did.

  • yea it was in my library book it was a ripley's believe it or not

  • OMG i watched 1983 adverts

  • (Get rid of those commercials.) I'll never forget this show... how strange,... bizarre,... & unexpected it always was. Jack Palance was so funny!... I always loved to see that blout brow of his flicking up & down all the time everytime he'd say... "Believe it............... or not."

    Believe it...................................... or not.

  • Someone have the main theme of this tv show in mp3 stereo? Please send it to me thanks.

  • Ripley's on DVD! WE WANT IT NOW!

  • this show rocked, great intro

  • I used to watch the show all the time as a kid -- even though the intro creeped me out a little! I was happy to find the reruns on Sci-Fi and few years back... this show was fun. Palance was the best.

  • I Think That Statue Was Talking When Jack Palance's Back Was Turned.

  • I was 13 when this show first aired..

    I remember it really well!

The new show with dean cain is good too but.. will some one tell Dean Cain that its Believe it, OR NOT!.. God when he just says believe it and stops, Thats like going.. Shave and a hair cut And walking away!!

Hey any one notice the name of one of the writers? Tomas Fuchs... FUCHS??!!!! OMG that's too funny.. Tomas Fuchs what? (Ha ha does he have a third name?) lol

  • we dont give a fuck!

  • the books are better.

  • Wow. I used to watch this in Bangladesh in the 80's. At that time, I didn't even know Palance was a famous actor. Thanks.
