  • I think that JJ Abrams doesn't even know what Star Trek is. Can someone explain why his "movies" are called Star Trek? And why the hell I watched that SHIT?

  • Abrams is a fucknut piece of shit director. There is no escaping the ugliness of his so-called style. All that camera swaggering and lens flares. He thinks this a style but it is simply shit. It just screams for attention which pulls any sane audience member right out of the moment. Decades of my loyalty to a canon was shit on by one asshole who showed no respect. It's unforgivable and that hack doesn't have the sense to know that he ought to be ashamed.

  • @CptCryBaby "Decades of my loyalty to a canon was shit on..." ORLY? Then you're either NOT a fan of, or loyal to, canon, OR you're just a fucking moron... because Alternate time-lines, where the characters you know, have, are and will live altered lives, ARE A PART OF CANON and *ALWAYS* have been since the very first series you twat.

  • J.J. Abramas is the directoral savior of the 21st century.

  • Mr. jar jar abrams knows about as much about trek as my mom does. She can't differentiate it from starwars. Thanks for the kick in Trek's crotch you talentless HACK.

  • @CptCryBaby Your a retard.. JJ's Treck got more awards and more Box Office ratings then "ANY" Star Treck in History.. So stfu you noob!

  • @Phanamine He's a walking, talking piece of shit and so is his so-called 'work'. I've watched WOK repeatedly since its release and will watch it many, many more times in my life. Who wants to see Fuck-O abrams abomination again? Would you truly watch this over and over? Also, if he wanted to make a starwars film he should have approached lucas instead of destroying decades of trek canon. Awards and Box Office do not a good movie make. Now, Mr/Mrs Phanamine, why don't you go fuck yourself?

  • @CptCryBaby Funny I don't remember JJ running around and having all the movies and episodes of the original series (or any other series) destroyed and pulled from TV.

This movie is looked at as "alternate canon". It didn't "destroy" anything except Uhura's character.

But really dude? Threatening people over a movie? Go whine somewhere else. Preferably to your mother who just might give two fucks.

  • @tazzy186 What you mean to say is that YOU look at it as an alternate canon. True Trekkies see it as a betrayal. The truth is that Mr. Asshole, I mean AbraHAMs didn't like trek and felt it was his right to remake the entire history and turn it into HIS trek. For decades trek was built brick by brick by every actor, writer and director who came into contact with it. Then some ignoramus shows up and decides not just to take it in another direction but to irradicate all that came before? FAIL.

  • @CptCryBaby Fine. I SEE it as alternate canon and YOU see it as betrayal. You certainly don't speak for "Real Fans" since most fans I meet are much more open minded as Star Trek taught them to be.

You're a fail son. A very big fail.

  • dude looks like robert downey fuckin jr.

  • Planets*

  • Star Trek, in it's gilded age, was a dry and dull series. I am a Star Wars fan, and compared to Star Trek, Star Wars is deep. The thing with Star Trek is that, it's a recreation of the Expedition of Columbus to the new world. In other words, just a bunch of explorers look at plants. That's quite boring. J.J. Abrams version of this universe is much more open-minded, appealing, attracting, or simply, not boring.

  • @Kennarezz hi he also had a GOOD script writer who BOther to make the effort to recreate the story which make star trek so LiveLY and so fresh like seasfood so fresh and so weLL presevered with natural preservative s

  • 7:25 thats why this movie rocked and the star wars prequels suck a T rexs dick.

  • I love how he has used old techniques & cutting edge techniques. That analogue camera is old school that works. He's the dude.

  • JJ literally brought back Star Trek from the grave! Gotta' love him for that! Great interview Blunty!

  • he should go make another wayne transofmers movie, but hands off star trek -_-

  • Cool Guys Dont Look at Explosions ?

  • @killermel23 A song JJ did with the Lonely Island.

  • Does anybody know when Star Trek: The Managery is coming out? I think thats going to be cool to have those characters back and The Managery is going to be a smarter and more interesting film, and The Managery is the next logical story seeing as Managery had Capt. Pike.

  • @blabbermouth777 Rumors says 2012. The correct title for episode you're referring to is s01e11-12 "The Menagerie"

  • I HATE HIM! One thing...

Mad man has taken control of StarTrek, someone save us!

  • @sirNemanjapro WHY???? I always thought that people who loves Star Trek are openminded.

  • i like his style

  • amazing the people in here trying to show off their kindergarten limited knowledge of stellar science :D

  • @BeybladeBrawls if you plan to post messages, at least do it legibly so us english speakers can understand your weak rants...

thanks for also pointing that one out @fmscribs .... btw, agreed, he also talks like Yoda... @BeybladeBrawls, change your username to CantTypeOrSpeakEnglishForShit or something like that (as Yoda probably taken).... so we have a warning on the headache caused through attempting to read your words of NO wisdom...

Star Trek has moved on, and so should critique. respect!

  • actually you are both right, a supernova is a dying star that has exploded, resulting implosions last millions of our earth years. If you fast forwarded the whole event, it would look like a big bang, big flash of light. Of course, that is what the arrogant human mind can conceive...

  • @clickforseo how is the human mind arrogent? the way u said it sounded like u meant everyone is arrogent and a being cant help percieving things the way they do. you r just hating on ur own species cause ur emoish and ur life isnt good enough for u. i dislike people like u. never apriciating and being a open mind but a narrow one, saying arrogent human mind. theres a difference between arrogence and confidence and giving answers that are logical or logic enough with knowldge humans have.

  • my nose loks like a penis

  • Go figure he'd be jewish, can't believe i didn't get that from his last name...

  • The film was good, but the music he put in was shite. Not like the trailers which were wicked!! And if he can put Spock in why not Kirk...Unless he has something for the next one...

  • The film was good, but the music he put in was shite. Not like the trailers which were wicked!!

  • I like the classic Star Trek and I think this movie was a success. Not for the story, that's just the background. This movie is about characterization: all the parts are well thought and well acted. Oh, I should say that in my view, If there's no Kirk and Spock in it, it's not Star Trek. I hate the rest.

  • no we trekkies ruined star trek we always want the same thing rodenberry would be absolutly saddend to see this civil war we created it is not a war it is a cancer and the only way to kill this cancer is to get behind abrams and support the new crew please for the sake of star trek we must

  • J.J. Abrams Completely Fucked up Everything Trek. Please don't make a new Movie and Fuck it up More. If you wanna Do something Fix what you Fucked Up.

  • and his nose looks like a penis @dwb041

  • how he fck it up? it was awesome. u closed minded person. a true trek fan is free mind and open. accepts new things u fake fan. no we trekkies ruined star trek we always want the same thing rodenberry would be absolutly saddend to see this civil war we created it is not a war it is a cancer and the only way to kill this cancer is to get behind abrams and support the new crew please for the sake of star trek we must

  • JJ who are you trying to BS. You added these "lens flares" to distract us from a crappy story line. No matter what effects you put into a movie the first three rules to a good story is....script, script, script. And it's obvious now, you didn't have that.

I like cheeseburgers, but I don't eat them every day for breakfast, lunch, & dinner.

Do us a favor....stay in TV and stay away from Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek you Hollywood hack.

Oh yeah, & take the ass kisser Blunty with you.

  • @fmscribs u just ruined star trek for me. JJ made me like it more u just sucke dit dry good job dude, u became wat u accsed jj to be. no we trekkies ruined star trek we always want the same thing rodenberry would be absolutly saddend to see this civil war we created it is not a war it is a cancer and the only way to kill this cancer is to get behind abrams and support the new crew please for the sake of star trek we must

  • @BeybladeBrawls

First off. The movie is over 17 months old now so how could I ruin it for you?

Secondly. Learn to use proper grammar while writing. Capital letters & periods help to define ones thoughts.

Third. The only cancer is the Hollywood hack called JJ Abrams. He's the one that has invaded the body of Trek and infected it. But don't worry...the majority that went to this movie liked it. Us in the minority have given our reason why we don't.

And you sound like Yoda at the end, "we must".

  • Well then it lets to excuse me for my weak knowledge about sciences.

With Certainty a Supernova is an event that happening in any star of the space, it would reach other star without a lot of delay. How will I say, if Proxima Centauri entered in Supernova, such occurrence would destroy the Earth as well as Romulus certain?

  • @Grayphus no any star cant go nova.

  • Abrams broke the time line and reimagined Kirk into a bar hopping thug that likes to start fights and the Enterprise into a chrome plated nightmare built in Riverside Iowa

  • Spock, but no Kirk,, whats wrong with this guy???

  • i hate this guy sorry but as a treki he so failed his audience. Everything new and dont ask the trekis. The true error here was, to give a guy a chance who never seen any Star Trek episode. Result is a bad cast huge effects but overloaded. A kick in the but for all the fans out there.

  • im so happy trekkies hated this film, just proves how entertaining it was

  • L M A O & R O T F!!! There is nothing more pathetic then when some whiny little writers go onto various blogs or youtube postings or facebook and rant and rave at everyone who dislikes this pos movie! And it is pretty obvious that many "different" posters are in fact the same person. What a loser! If someone genuinely likes the movie then fine but stop attacking everyone who has seen vastly superior time travel stories then this pos! It's obvious Abrams is not a sci fi fan! And it shows!

  • @sallyjosie youve seen superior time travel stories but this had vastly superior action which is more important in an action movie

  • Worst Epic Fail Ever! Does anybody know like Romulus would survive without sun after this to be swallowed by a singularity?? How did " burlesque " Enterprise of JJ escape from a black hole with an explosion?? This was the film worst writing and with most incompatible FX than I had to see. Nothing in him makes sense of the fiction to the characters used in him. Go to Rura Penthe JJ!

  • @Grayphus Supernova is not a sun, it's a supergiant star. I think it's time you Trekkies put down your Spock ears, Enterprise playsets, etc. and PAY ATTENTION TO SCIENCE CLASS!

ps If you were offended by the term "Trekkie", no offense!

  • @darthqueen45 Dude if you're going to try and correct someone, probably best not to be FULL OF SHIT... a Supernova is NOT a "supergiant star" it's a a stellar explosion, you great big twat. may YOU should "PAY ATTENTION TO SCIENCE CLASS!" a little harder.

  • @Blunty3000 LOL

  • @Blunty3000 haha he got owned lol

  • @Blunty3000 actualy a supernova normally results from the implosion of a super massive star. and the only "sun" in the universe is right here in the solar system. our star goes by two names, the sun, or sol. but regardless a supernova can result from the implosion of any number of different stars. generally though they are the result of a super massive star running out of fuel and imploding.

  • @darthqueen45 lol u got pwned by darthqueen lol

  • Zack Snyder should listen to J.J. from (7:25 to 7:36)!

  • This is the Star Trek that I always wanted to see: appropriate budget, modernized technology, characters from the original show, faster pace, kinetic cinematography and more emotion. Great film!

  • Im not a trekkie but i know of it and i think this movie was handled realy well

  • Best reinterpretation of Star Trek to date :).

  • JJ... JJ... JJ.. Now, if you only stayed focused on your "gradually drowning" island and would do us all a favor and get "LOST" with it, you tried to make the "worst" ST movie EVER and succeeded, congratulation! Really, I just begin to describe how lame this movie is, annoying cast, story, directing.. You want to remove our Star Trek history and changed everything, & I remember you saying you'd respect everything and ALL ST fans would love it, Guess what? No, we didn't.. Plz, just get Lost

  • even though this reboot is one of the good ones, hollywood has to use there brains and make up new stories for movies.

  • I am a long term Trekkie/Trekker, and when I first saw the new movie I hated it. Hated, hated it. But once I could unclinch my ass and start seeing it for what it was, I fell head over heels in love. The movie rules in so many different ways I cannot name them all. I will always have the highest respect for Mr. Abrams for his gift to us, as well as EVERYONE involved. I am in love with Trek again!

  • @doveswife

What a load of BS !

  • It is fine gay movie, I am proud young gay stars break out though I am heteronormal personably.

  • Long time Trekkie. I am even playing the new On line game. This movie rocked!! they took Trek to a whole new level

  • screw all you whiny trekkies.

this movie was fucking fantastic! and all the characters were accurately depicted and it captured the absolute essence of what star trek is all about... you die hard fans think you know everything but you've all lost the whole point completely..

sorry it didn't live up to your stupid guidelines... get a life then maybe you'll can tell great acting from mediocre cheesy shatner-esque acting from a show made 50 years ago.

  • Then where was the moral conflicts, social commentary and exploration of the human condition?

And I'm sorry that people don't agree with you but hey that's life. Not everyone is going to agree with what you say. Me personally I like to respect other people's opinions no matter how much I disagree with them while still defending my own opinions.

  • haha. you make it seem like everyone disagrees with me, not everyone thinks the movie wasn't up to par with what a star trek film should be...

what r u talking about??... There were Moral Conflicts, social commentary and exploration of the human condition (spock not being able to save his mother, Not knowing how to express his emotions, being out of place in society because of who he is, Kirk living up to his fathers name and being a savior, was nero's intentions to destroy earth justified)

  • I wasn't trying to make it sound like everyone disagrees with you just trying to say that you have your opinion and they have theirs that's all. Of course nero's actions to try to destroy earth weren't justified. Earth, starfleet, the federation or spock weren't responsible for Romulus being destroyed. So there's no question here of who's in the wrong. I wanted to like this movie but it just didn't have what I like about trek.

  • and what was that? you can't put your finger on it because there is nothing wrong with it.... you just feel the strong urge to complain about something because you're oblivious to the other factors that should taken into consideration when making a great movie (great acting, great story, great effects, great editing, lense flares effects, the epic magnitude of the whole thing)

  • you obviously are a star trek drone just like the rest of them as far as I'm concerned... thank you for respecting my opinion but frankly, you just cannot fit everything that was in the TV show into a 2 hour movie, like the moral conflicts of the secondary characters but trekkies just dont understand that simple concept...

  • I'd only be a drone if I just liked anything with the star trek name on it and had no standards. Like for example I don't like Voyager and Enterprise because they were just crap series. Why couldn't they put everything about trek in a film? Nick meyer seemed have to no problem doing that when he wrote wrath of khan and neither did chris nolan when he had the core characteristic of batman developed in batman begins.

  • because if they tried to put everything into the movie it would suck! why can't you understand that????

i see this is going to go on forever.... you are the drone, i choose to analyze a film in a broader perspective, looking at other aspects which i just stated for you... and i never said it i liked the movie based on nothing! pay attention... you choose to be trapped in your frame of mind where the perfect star trek movie consist of jamming 50 years of info into one lame movie...

  • if they can fit everything into a star trek movie doesn't mean they should.... its not a good idea at all, but obviously you cant see past your trekkie ego so ill leave you be to carry on this lame debate without me.

    take care :)

  • Insulting people doesn't address their point.

I've seen this movie a hundred times. Smart-ass hero mouths off, elder takes him on, cheesy onliners, and endless explosions. The plot makes no sense, scenes are put in for slapsick or action which don't advance the plot, the characters are cliche, the motivations are meaningless, and the characters do not develop.

Why does Nero wait 25 years to destroy Vulcan? Why doesn't his crew use the ship/red matter to save Romulus?

  • @BW022 In the movie he had to wait for Spock to come out of the wormhole thing and he didn't come out until 25 years after Nero, the beginning of the movie was 25 years before Vulcan be destroyed cause he waited for Spock so that he could show see Vulcan be destroyed, also, this is a different universe/dimension, there are 2 neros in this universe and the angry one wants revenge. its all explained in the movie... pay more attention next time...

  • @mamakunem hahaha well said

  • It was gripping from beginning to end. I just saw

it again and now I want to see it again. Who ever

said is wasn't good doesn't know their ass when

it comes to action movies let alone Startrek. I want to be in the sequel

  • If he cant Get Daniel Day-Lewis for Kahn, he shouldnt do it.

  • the film was pretty bad bad acting bad dialogue a newlooking hyperdesigned terrain why? it played before the 70s saga aint im right?

Im a treki but this film wasnt my cup of tea

What took them so long to get it done the story wasnt good too

  • Man this guy is a genius

  • Khan will be in the next movie?

Looks like JJ Abram's star trek is going to boldly go where so many have gone before

  • loved the way JJ explained the CG shooting and practical shooting. He's obviously got a lot going on in that head...

  • I'm a hard TOS fan, and at first I was upset that they tore apart the chemistry between Spock/Kirk...but then I realized that the tension between them just sets up for the Sequels to build their love and friendship back together!

I liked the movie; it was worth the seven dollars I paid to see it, anyway. *shrugs*

  • great movie

  • this film has made star trek cool. before it was for geeky computer nerds. abrams needs to get the next one out next year no messing about

  • "before it was for geeky computer nerds."

You've got it all figured out don'tcha?

  • yes because your profile says it all kiddo!!! a picture of an alien. you put the G into Geek with stuff like that

  • I prefer conspiracy theorist. As for you, you're just another nameless internet tough guy. Fuck off.

  • ok but you are a nameless geek

  • Next film is due out mid 2011. He couldn't make another one in only a year.

  • BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR!

  • I don't know why people dislike it. I love star trek, I watched every show and movie and I love the new movie. It's a revival of star trek. Btw, vfx artists were ILM. Best known as George Lucas vfx team. I don't mind it. In fact I embrace it.

  • I haven't watched the series and old movies before but this movie rocks... Gotta love the effects... and because the story went back to young captain Kirk with a new alternate time reality they can remake star trek with same characters and fresh storyline all over again...

  • Seriously without watching the movie itself would be a pity. the movie is actually very good and believe me when i say this: i tried to NOT like it. Plus the critics love it too (go see rotten tomatoes if u dont believe me). the evidence speaks for iteself

  • I really don't see that, care to explain how the new film relates to Star Wars at all?

  • You are correct sir! This movie sucked balls!

  • JJTrek sucked? That's wrong, that is a wrong, incorrect opinion.

  • There is one comic book movie JJ Abrams should direct: Superman.

  • He wrote a screenplay for it in 2003, in my opinion it's better than Singer's version.

  • It has plenty of faults, but it's such a likeable movie ... no reason to hate it so much!

  • J.J. Abrams - O Melhor

  • great movie. one of the most critically acclaimed movies of 2009.

  • Comment removed

  • The people who didn't like this movie probably thought Deep Space 9, Voyager and the Insipid "Enterprise" was actually good.

Great job JJ... This is clearly the best Trek movie yet - keep up the great work. My only gripe, oddly was Scotty who I felt was a bit over-the-top. Other than that excellent film. Looking forward to the next one already!

  • Actaully, I loved this movie and Deep Space Nine.

  • Actually I thought Scotty was fine. Chekov (probably spelt wrong) was the one who annoyed me.

  • maybe Chekov wassort of the JarJar Binks of this movie... a character people loved to hate... yes, he seemed like a smart-ass 17 year old... but it was nice to see ALL the original characters get some ME time, unlike Star Trek: TMP and even Wrath of Khan.

  • 5:00 - Did anyone actually feel that one of those douchebags was in danger in this whole movie? He could prove it by having had Nero blow their space brewery away and doing something else instead.

  • It was simply a "FUCKED UP" peice of shit movie!

  • Says the mentally disturbed poster.

  • this is actually my fav movie (maybe nemesis) the new star trek movie wasn't really a bad movie or anything but there were huge mistakes in it. things like a single super nova wouldn't threaten a galaxy, black holes don't make you travel through time, the romulans run their ships on artificial black holes so why would they have to wait on spock to go get some red stuff to make one. things like that. dont get me wrong overall i liked the movie, just things like that poke your brain.

  • Nemesis had an idiotic excuse for a MOVIE plot. Your ideas do make one ponder. Even so, consider the following. The comic prequel mentions that this particular supernova was peculiar in its scale, a freak of nature. Far-fetched? As far as we know with our current understanding of science. Black holes do warp time, and finally Romulans run on ARTIFICIAL black holes evidently not powerful enough to engulf a supernova. Makes you wonder.

  • Supernova thing is arguable either way, that's fine but the reason black holes THEORETICALLY warp time, is because physicists are trying to put a particle to time called Chronitons and if their is Chronitons the black hole would slow it down or trap it altogether stopping it. At most THEORETICALLY time would stop. there wouldn't be a reversal though. as i said before im not a hater i liked the movie, i just analyze things like that and dont like it when there are mistakes :P

  • I must point out at this point that it is actually labeled by Spock Prime as an "Ultra Nova"

  • Hey everybody...stop your whining! The movie was entertaining . Sure there were things that could have been better (like the engine room of the Enterprise) but all in all a fun movie.

  • Hey Abrams, did you ever watch any Star Trek? Kirk wasn't an only child.

    Idiot

  • Are you threatening me? I am cornholeo!

  • At 6:00 Abrams describes Kirk. He doesn't say he's an only child but the way he describes him it's as though he were all alone growing up.

  • YOU again! This movie was FUCKED!

  • You sound very disturbed.

  • Those atrocious Twilight films are gaining momentum on a yearly basis, and you morons are arguing over THIS film?

  • waz up

  • Sophomoric and juvenile two words that describe JJ. Roddenberry did not create Startrek to act as a showcase for "fun." He was inspired by the greats like Joseph Stefano and Harlan Ellison. I was not expecting a classic like Ellison's "Demon With A Glass Hand", and neither was I expecting something like the dumbed down freshman highschool "Survivor" theme slop that comprised this horrific movie. I doubt JJ watched StarTrek or OuterLimits. Likely too busy looking in the mirror.

  • "He was inspired by the greats like Joseph Stefano and Harlan Ellison."

And the creators of Forbidden Planet for which Star Trek is ripped off from.

BTW, stop speaking for others just to suit your own agenda.

  • stfu noob

  • Okay, you're pretty well done then as far as saying anything else on this.

  • "and the only decent acting was done by Karl Urban and Simon Pegg. "

Someone alert Leonard Nimoy and Bruce Greenwood they aren't "decent actors." They already have a heads up on past Star Trek tho.

"How about well-written? Believeable? Dramatic? Maybe a little social commentary? A dream of the future?"

What are "Things Star Trek never was before" for $1000 Alex.

  • When was the last time you watched Star Trek IV, which is the most obvious well-written Believable social commentary A dream of future? You are the one living in "An alternate universe" Bleak! I hate the term "alternate universe". You nerds over use it.

  • "The franchise has been dying since Rick Berman got involved. Jerry Abrams is putting in the final nails."

Really? What alternate timeline are you in? The terrific box office that the franchise hasn't seen in 30 years + how highly rated it is amongst film & Trek websites with various polls suggest otherwise from your "claim."

    "the sets looked like breweries,"

Only the engineering set, which was filmed in a brewery.

  • "What a piece of shite that movie was."

What a piece of shite comment that was.

  • Its so funny to read geeks rip up this movie for geek reasons. It was an adventure, it was fun and funny and had a fast pace that didn't bog down. Who cares what you geeks think, movies like this are for all ages and not for nitch groups like many here that can't help complain because they have nothing better to do. Get over it geekville people.

  • Don't you mean for good reasons? This movie is bad. A singularity that remains put in the future but moves in the past how can that be? A man cheats on a test is punished for it but he goes A-wall, & is rewarded with acting first officer. Then disrespects the chain of command & fights with fellow officers. Then picks a fight with his superior officer & commits mutiny, risks the lives of over 4 hundred people just to save his captain. & gets rewarded by getting his own ship. YUCK! BARF!

  • No I meant geek reasons like yours son. Fans of movies loved this film and it made almost $400 million so your in the minority here BIG TIME. I don't care about even one of your geeky critisisms, because geeks like you don't have a clue what fun is or how to spot it when you see it. If a big ball of fun fell out of the sky and landed on your face you'd miss it. Get over yourself.

  • Youre only 3 years older & youre calling me son? Shows that you think you are superior to everyone? Time to get your ego popped. High profits do not make a good movie, however the movie did not make 400 mil. it made just under 260 mil. "Geeks like us" have our idea of fun & you have yours. Fun is defined by the individual. My late father's Idea of fun was yard work & ham-radio. He almost never sat through a whole movie. So stop projecting your self on to others & see youre self.

  • Not everyone, just you!

  • Projecting your self on to me is the same as projecting your self on to others. You don't have a clue of what I meen do you? I'm not suprised. Plus I'm not going to explane. You will just have to figure it out on your own. As the Real Captian Kirk would say "GET A Life! will you? It's just a TV show!

  • Your telling ME its just a show????? Bahhahaha thats really funny stuff geeeeeek boy, and BTW check again cause Star Trek has made $382 million so far.

  • "That's not a billion.""Nope, not a billion." (Loony Toons Back in Action)Did you like Titanic or Gone with the Wind?I typed it 50 times & I'm typing it again. Just because it is a hit does not mean it is good!"Get a life! Will you?You have turned what I did as a lark for a couple of enjoyable years into a colossal waste of time! I didn't watch TV when I was your age. I lived! So, move out of your parents basement, and grow the hell up! It's Just a TV show. It's just a TV show!" (Will Shatner)

  • You're a bonified freak, and if you made even the slightest bit of sense in any of your dreadful posts you might just be dangerous.

  • And you are a complete looser! I do make sense to anyone with a brain. May be if you stop watching TV and start studying you might understand what people like me are saying. William Shatner said it best "Move out of your parents basement, and GROW THE HELL UP!" "It's just a TV show! It's just a TV show!"

  • quality director

  • Some summer movies get great reviews, but even an alternate timeline has to follow a good story line. This one doesn't, but I think that the weakest part was that the story doesn't live up to the beginning. Why would JT Kirk follow Thelma and Louise? It doesn't make sense. Scenes like the frozen planet and the engine room scene have also been done in other movies. This was billed as something new.

  • It was new. However, all movies will share some things with nearly all other movies. This includes all past Star Treks.

  • There were so many things wrong with this concept I hardly know where to begin. Spock in love with Uhura? Gimme a break. Blowing up Vulcan? Never happened. A travesty...

  • "Blowing up Vulcan? Never happened. "

    It happened.

    "A travesty... "

Ermm, no. Learn what the word "travesty" is first.

  • Blowing up Vulcan can lead to bringing it back. That would make an interesting story line and something that hasn't been done too many times in the movies. Hopefully, they won't film it in a brewery.

  • The only way to bring back Vulcan is to do what they did in this movie only in reverse. It would be just as bad If not even worse. I got the perfect sequel to this movie. Ready... Drum role please...

    Here it goes.....

    DALLAS season 3 solution!

It was all Ambassador Spock's dream. The movie can open with flashes from this garbage. Then old Spock wakes in a Romulan prison. Trough interrogation Spock tells of a mission. We flash back to (NEW) young crew. Ending Riker saves Spock.

  • Speaking of Bond, the Bond reboot was really good. It didn't change any characters while moving in a different timeline. We got to see how he becomes a 007 without a long explanation from "old" Spock to "new" Kirk. Long live the Bond franchise.

  • you know why 99% of movies today are as Abrams says "fast pace" because psychologically when you bombarded with tens scenes and overloaded with flash visuals the mind isn't given enough time to think and judge what they are seeing

this creates an after effect in which people won't realizes the movie was shit 3months later

star trek was crap on a forgettable Jame's bond clone movie level it will take until the fall before people have the courage to admit that

  • I agree 100% but did you have to say James Bond clone? That hurt(snif snif). {LOL}

  • This Star Trek movie is a waste of time and money. I really hated it !

  • People don't remember this is an ALTERNATE TIMELINE... which Trekkers and Trekkies should appreciate.

I love the Kobiashi Maru that was talked about by Kirk in Wrath of Khan.

  • I totally agree with you! I'm curious, what did you hate most?

  • It's summertime, people will like anything.

  • Then why have the summer movies generally gotten bad reviews, including the summer's biggest blockbuster?

    Exactly.

  • J.J. Abrams is smart! His first movie was great but He will make a better sequel in 2011!

  • Ok I thought this was great and a refreshing take on the orginal but the half faces did annoy me!

  • Star Trek was the best film of the summer imo.

  • I have discovered why people like this BAD movie. The flares, there mind alternating beams similar to the ones in "Men in Black" Just not as advanced. In order for it to be effective they needed to use the flares all through the movie. Fortunately it only works in the theater and on the overly opened minded. Once people see it on video they will know how bad this film really is. Unfortunately by that time the sequel will be ready.

  • I thought it was a good movie and got away from the "politicially correct" BS that has infested the last few movies. The original series was about exploration, meeting new races and kicking their asses. All these little fanboy complaints didn't hurt ticket sales, did they? On to the next movie nerds will complain bout.

  • i wish i never started reading the comments on this video. i respect the opinions of others, but when someone calls me stupid for liking this movie that crosses the line and gets me angry! i get it dude, your the best damn fan star trek could ever have and the rest of us who realize that there just isn't anymore star trek tos, and who would do anything to see something new... well we can all just burn in hell! anyone who calls me stupid for liking something. i'm sorry, i'm sorry your an a-hole.

  • The closest thing to the origianal series is Star Trek New Voyages the first three episodes.

  • Guys, come on. Star Trek has changed so many times, and there were bad ideas long before Abrams took a swing. 5 series, 10 movies. I've been a fan all my life, I've never met anyone who loved all of them. Take a shot every time the movie homages the series, you may be drunk before the main title. And for those who haven't seen it, what are you doing? Quit whining, you vomit skinned wet blanket maggots.
