  • Magnificent, do you have any more of his works?

  • No.

  • Oh dear.

Say, do you know anything about the German Baroque composer Johann Andreas Herbst?

  • No, Near, I'm afraid that I don't. I'm ashamed, too, seeing that German Baroque is my specialty :(

  • I see........ the only source of information I have is Wikipedia.

Which isn't enough, I have to know more because I am a descendant of the Herbst family myself.

  • Really?...you're a descendant of...a composer??!!!!!! I should look to see if there were any Black composers...maybe i might be related to one of them...if there are any...

  • Also they were a family of organ builders in the 1600's.

  • Very interesting. Be sure to tell me if you find out more. All right! Signing out now!

  • Early baroque probably...seems to still have a renaissance feel to it...

  • It's late Baroque. It was written shortly before his death. He died in 1723. Late Baroque era lasted from about 1720 to 1750.

  • really nice, Bach´s time, and the typical style from the italian musicians in England, by the way, very, very similar to flute sonatas by the german composer Johann Philipp Eisel (1698 - after 1756)... Siegfried

    is the score available anywhere???

  • I'm not sure in which library it is...i would assume that it would be somewhere in england.

  • This is Awesome, Thanks! I can't believe I've never heard of him
