  • AWESOME!!!

  • @Andrewfly24, exactly, they react to the different pitches of his voice

  • Very interesting. Nice job.

  • Wonder if he says that to his wife when getting a tug-job.. "A little PullllLLLllllLLLLLLLLlll ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

  • that's so cool! I wished they would train in my front yard! xD

  • That is very cool, I dreamed of flying with these guys when I was a kid.

  • I put all the frequencies in a nicer fashion in the posting's description. And for someone who asked, what I did was I used a video camera with a LONG cable running into my window then into a mpeg capture card on my PC [Jeez, do they even exist anymore?] and then, live, had two audio inputs. Left was my amateur radio equipment hitting their freqs, the other was a LONG ass wire again connected to a microphone in the yard to get the real sound of the planes. My friend was holding the cam.

  • interesting audio

  • is he masturbating ?

  • @pwnjeez

lol. It is a bit creepy. I just can't imagine the g-forces they are going through. You can kinda hear it in their voices. I keep waiting for the Boss to say "Thank ya, thank ya very much." (Elvis imitation)

  • @jefftoe

idd, also - search for "red arrows radio"

they are the exact opposite of the blue angels in the comms,

red 1 (i guess) is really yelling it all out, i mean, i think at one point

one of the other pilot said "WHAT HAPPEND?"

  • @jefftoe The boss speaks slower or faster to indicate to the rest of the team the way the maneuver is to be performed... Not because he's strained

  • How did you recieve this using just a microphone? Please explain!

  • but there were three frequencies and I forget which one I chose. some are inter communication and I think one was just tower to leader. they were 200-390 mhz range, but AM. I think they change it every show. for example, Luke air force base is nearby, they don't want to interfere. thanks!!

  • @haywoodjablowme21

You know, probably the active military does do digital and/or encrypted, not sure. this is just an air show and I don't think there's a lot of worry. I am a ham/amateur radio operator (N4WEU) and I know that digital needs to be higher frequency and is unreliable. ask a fireman. so screw that for flying like this. b

  • thats badass man nice!

  • I thought the military used VHF/UHF (for fighters anyway) and most of those freqs these days are inaccessible due to them being easier to decode and pick up. I think they use a varying frequency receiver and generator to keep their bandwidth from being accessible to the public and especially enemies.

  • this must have been great for you, not only did you get to see them in your front yard, but also hear them over the radio and and ya didn't even have to pay to get in :P...lol...

  • im a brit so im a red arrows fan ,they scream when they display so this is different but cool ,nothing like watching and listening to great pilots doing there stuff -what a job

  • hey moron, there is reason they are called a precision demonstration team

because all of their movements have to precisely coordinated down to last tee,

all odd as it sounds, those little things they do is reason why you dont see them crashing into crowds like other teams do in europe

  • who are these European teams you're talking about crashing into crowds???

  • Sknyliv airshow disaster

    Ramstein airshow disaster

  • i agree... it calms the other pilots down... at such a close range with that much power... somethin can easily go wrong... it may sound funny... but it really isnt at all

  • @brsrkr323 have you heard the red arrows?

  • @aeromexicopilotman no i havent but i have heard the pilot communication is a bit different then what we hear with the blue angels...

  • They talk like that because it has a timing on the command so if he left inveted he would put it in timing so the other aircraft know were there ment to be if there in wrong place at the wrong time well use your imagination.

  • they act like this becuase it puts them in a calm stage of flight to fly that close... its what they do with canadian fighter pilots in training... the make you feel calm and relaxed... then they tell you to fly at 100feet upside down.... i think..

  • dude they react to the way his voice is

  • How can you listen to their frequencies. All I can listen to is air traffic control.

  • hey i was trying to listen to the thunderbirds last september here at the salinas international airshow, but only the airboss. i know the blue angels are coming this year and am wondering what frequencies they use. probably military frequencies in the 300's

  • He is singing to some of the maneuvers to help them move as one. Sort of like a drill instructor sings cadences to help his company stays in step on a march. Frankly if anyone even bothers to listen in, I think they would be more entertained listening to the singing than they would a guy calling instructions like an automaton...

  • Fish told ya right. It's a cadence. The commands are given that way for a reason.

  • It's also for intelligibility reasons. They can't afford to mis-hear each other when they're within wingtip distance...

  • i ;ive in az

  • omg and ken switzer aka thumper is in this too? dang ken talked to me when i first saw these guys. great guy as well

  • than he says stand by the boards, boards <---for those who dont know thats their airbreaks then contact means visual contact then stinger means approaching formation

  • on the flur fe lis u got the call wrong its "ready break" "read Roll" Then "Take It In"

  • did he just say "dino"!?!?!? doug "Dino" Thompson from the 1990-91 team? when was this taken? god he has served with the blues more times than i care to count lol i still talk to utah from the 97-98 team he is a pretty good guy

  • no that's Dan "Dino" Martin who was #6 that year

  • 1factoid. I'm not sure who you are, but I'm pretty sure you need to quit letting the neighbors dog Fuk your @ss, and get a life, maybe move out your moms basement, AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT IF ALL YOU GOING TO SAY IS STUPID SH^T!! I liked your vid. A++

  • It's 100% real. 1991 in Miramar i was invited to go out to the com cart during show and listen to them talking to each other. That's exactly how they talk.

  • Great video and thanks for the coms.

  • This is real. I have heard it myself.

  • And what makes you say that?

  • No the "boss" speaks in such tones as to keep up a rhythm or cadence. It helps the other pilots get on cue and know where their marks are. One mistake (or even evaluation in stress of voice) can have disastrous consequences. The pilots do not just get into their planes and fly, there is a rhyme and rhythm to the whole thing (in addition to months-years of practice.)

  • whatever....go hump someone else's leg

  • Like I SAID....internet tuff guy

  • You bore me (Yawning)

  • i've seen you on other videos.....you're not happy unless you're bitching about something get a life!!

  • How bout you go fuck yourself!?

  • You're such a little cunt

  • ok internet tuff guy. Im not hard to find

  • HA!!! I love internet tuff guy's like you. All bark and no bite LMAO at #1fucktoid. Let me add douche bag to your title you ignorant cunt

  • You're lucky enough to find your pecker in the bathroom. Try and take a bite outta me you'll be licking your own ass for two weeks to get the taste outta your mouth. You're nothing!! All bark and no bite!!!!You ignorant little cunt.

  • 1factoid = ignorant cunt

  • you're so cunty

  • Those guys are so fucking shit hot and you have no right to bang on us aviation lovers. Go Navy! I'd love to listen to your audio on a cat shot. Priceless. You'd be screaming your head off scared shitless.

  • Hmm, I replied to someone else the frequencies, but they are gone now. I guess someone is sensitive about it. Understandable, but it doesn't matter anyway since they change it around every location. Just try 200-360 mhz and be sure to use AM mode. Have fun!

  • ABSOLUTELY GREAT VIDEO! It's amazing to her what's being said on the radio inside those jets during their performance. PAL, I GIVE YOU A GREAT BIG TIP OF THE HAT ON THIS ONE. GREAT WORK ON THIS VIDEO!!!!!

  • Thank you for the kind words!

  • thanks for this video jefftoe. im a huge fan of these guys. i first saw them when i was 5. i used to live right next to the TOP GUN school in san diego

  • How cool! Do you mind if I ask what frequency you are recieving them on? I've tried to pick them up but only hear them talk to the ATCs in the area.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • I am still looking. I unfortunate rebooted my scanner to clear it all since then. I did a simple search and found tons. I think they change city to city to prevent interference. I know some were in the 240's and some in the 300's (all AM).

  • Yeah, that's where I pick up lots of military air traffic in the area. I listen to a squadron of F-15, and F-16 flight practice everyday. I love to watch them drop flares at night.:)

    Happy holidays!

  • Very nice! Especially the text of what the Boss is saying.

  • Thank you, that was tough to accomplish. Video cameras are much nicer now. I did not have a digital, so I used an mpeg capture car live on my computer with a 200 foot rca cable out the window. lol My friend held the camera, and I was inside running the scanner and capture software.

  • Even though I said in the comments about the left and right channels, seems as though youtube mixed them down to one mono channel, but you still get it all.

Don't miss the nice flyby at 2:05 right over my house.
