Anyways, I really don't understand those 3B+K thingy but I know that the " fish hook " is like DownLeftB+K.

He would only get lifted off the ground if you hit him with an attack like DownLeft+B then follow with the fishhook.

Also- don't say, "it's been 3 years now" on a 3 year old video. =/ However, I should also tell you- online is a terrible terrible place and should probably never be approached if at all possible. I swear, only like 1% of online players are any sort of offline viable.

I used to play online ranked all the time, sure there's people mashing and ringing out just for wins, but the majority I've fought are some legitimately skilled players who know how to mix up, do combos and NOT do every sequence within an input to leave theirselves open. One thing I've been trying to figure out is 2:24 How do you get your opponent to bounce up like that when you use that -whip- move in the serpent stance? It doesn't tell you how to to it in the move list.

@Minleyx1 Generally it's combo only. Otherwise, if you hit them on the ground and they don't block it, you'll get a pull.

Hello! I'm a noob lookign to learn Ivy, could you tell me the inputs for the combo that begins at 56sec? And the one at 2:25 as well? IF so then TY!

56 isn't a combo. It was CL 214(B) then followed with SE A 236A 236A can't be stopped if SE A hits, so that's a combo, but 214B isn't part of it.

at 2:25- the combo actually starts at 2:23.

It's SW 3A (A+K) CL 214(B) SE 1B+K CL 4B (B+K) SW 214K

SE is Serpents embrace, CL is Coil, SW is Sword WP is Whip.

When (A+K) or (B+K) is written after the move, you have to hold them down while you're doing the move, so you can switch stance while doing it.

To be fair to the Zas player, Zasalamel doesn't have nearly as many fluid attack strings as Ivy does. I think the player's main failing was the fact that every time he ducked Ivy's high kick he didn't try attacking right after, and it looked like he kept inputting every button in Zas's trip-up strings rather than only inputting the first input and switching to a different attack to catch the opponent off-guard.

The main issue is that it's just a horrific matchup for Zas that requires that the Zas player be on his toes for the entirety of the match, know how to back off, and make sure that he is connected to his opponent by fiber optic cables or that they're playing on the same machine.

I agree, when he ducked, Zasalamel could have done that move where while rising, stabs the scythe in the opponents face (cant remember its name)

Normally, I'd agree, except it seems that FC 3B catches people offguard a lot more often, and opens up to 4A+B or a few different 2-hit juggle options for extra damage.

Both of us were rather new to our characters. =P I don't think he even knew what moves he could punish with. I've gotten much much better since then. Also, I don't think zas' FC3B would punish ivy 6AK.

Oh, it can. You can do a quick test in training if you want, record 6AK~[G] for Ivy and have Zas Block/Duck the first hit and duck the second, then have him perform FC 3B. It works very well.
