Yeah, Army CAG and Navy DEVGRU dont "exist" like you say, but one of my best buds is with the 5th SFG in Lewis/McChord. Went in as an 18X. They're not a secret. Not all of these pictures are delta force soldiers. Most of them wear masks, sunglasses or googles and helmets so no one can see their true face. They are tall and highly strong (and respected).

If you took any pictures or videos of the compound driving by you would very soon be stopped and your camera would be confiscated!! This video may be of a normal SF group but not Delta.

Theres one photo here that features Delta during the invasion of Panama. The one where 3 of them are wearing the small black helmets standing outside a gate. None of the other pics are Delta, and many of them are just regular US troops. You can probably count on one hand the number of photographs that have been published of actual Delta operators in action.

Good video but its just a normal Army Special Forces group and not Delta Force (or their new name Army Compartmented Elements (ACE). All training and combat by ACE is highly classified so you will never see pictures or videos of them.

@alexalex736 This is very true! As a former member of the 82nd Airborne stationed at Ft. Bragg, the First Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta (Delta Force) compound was down the road from us. If you took any pictures or videos of the compound driving by you would very soon be stopped and your camera would be confiscated!! This video may be of a normal SF group but not Delta.

We all know it exist, we all know where it is, but when asked about in the Government, they don't exist. So when you look a former or retired Delta Force member's past military back ground you will see some something else. Like a Ranger or Green Beret. Or some other job.

USACOM=admin control over SF, special operations/so capible units, and schools
NSWC=admin command over all Navy SEAL teams, units, and schools
ACE=1st SFOD-D till Army personel only. SMU
DEVGRU=a.k.a MOB 6, 6th Platoon, ST6. NAVY ONLY. SMU
JSOC=operational control over SMU's, ie ACE, DEVGRU, 24th STS, and also special operation capible units when deployed, i.e 75th, 160th, etc.

Here's the kicker-You MUST pass OCT, if not, ooooops, you just blew your career in whatever other branch you were serving with and now you're stuck with either "Needs of the Army", or whatever MOS you enlisted under in the Army. Delta is part of the Army, and while they do accept the rare PJ, CCT, Marine, or SEAL, they are well over 90% Army personnel. DEVGRU is every bit their equal as well, by the way.

@jorgec5151 Delta is part of USASOC - in the Army. They're the elite CT team of the Green Berets, just like DEVGRU is for the SEALs. The difference is that Delta/CAG DOES accept some SOF members from other branches like AF PJs/CCTs, Marines, and the rare SEAL or two. However, it is well over 90% Army SF and Ranger alums.

While Delta often draws its ranks from the Army Special Forces (the Army Green Berets) and shares Fort Bragg, N.C., headquarters with them, it isn't an Army Special Forces detachment. Delta Force is a unit unto itself, composed of members from all branches of the military. Delta is directed by the National Command Authority. Not the Army.

The SF version of a platoon would be an ODA: Operational Detatchment Alpha. Delta is a SF Operational Detatchment, and is VERY much a part of the Army. Howard Wasdin, formerly of ST6/DEVGRU, was recruited by Delta but did not want to have to transfer branches into the Army, as he felt loyalty for his Navy Brethren. CAG is Army, but recruits everywhere

Theres one photo here that features Delta during the invasion of Panama. The one where 3 of them are wearing the small black helmets standing outside a gate. None of the other pics are Delta, and many of them are just regular US troops. You can probably count on one hand the number of photographs that have been published of actual Delta operators in action.
