nice video........ but i play lead so itll be a real help for me if theres inlays..... but on this guitar there arent.... any way i can put some on (without stickers because they can peel)
I played one in guitar center and really like it cus of the closeness of the strings to the frets, it would be great for the pop/punk band that I sing and play for but I have one question. Because of the semi-hollowbody, can it be used as acoustic also?
how is your action set? got one of these yesterday and i still feel the bridge and pickup heights arn't quite right for me. out of the box the bridge and bridge pickup were set very high
finaly a normal demo of the guitar without the 10 minute hello my name is... and im going to show u... crap, just classical riffs to hear what it sounds like on the guitar. cheers man
Blue? Did you paint it blue, or is it available (or was it) in blue tolex? is it blue tweed? It looks cool. I have only seen classic series amps in black or "lacquered tweed" that is actually twill with polyurethan, and occasionally you'll see the limited edition ones in solid mahogany or maple with some kind of flame finish, but those cost tice as much, and the wood itself would only cost the company an extra 10 bucks, so I decided to build my own cab (2x15, jensen P15s) and made a C-30 head.
Ive got a dot studio identical to that. I play it as much as any of my guitars, its got a rich, true tone... but you already know that. You enjoy that DOT(less), and keep picking, your sounding real good!
I got mine I'm about to change the pickups soon and put on some gibson 57 pickups. But I love my dot studio guitar it's the bomb. I use it on my beats I make with my fender p bass.
the squier classic vibe is good and in my opinion better than the mexican fender. get the 60s one for $350 it gives a thicker sound than the 50s, which is brighter
ive had this guitar for a year and its safe to say this guitar does not do metal. the action is too high and the tone is too bright. just get an ibanez or a jackson. bc rich is gay and so is dean.
well at low volume itll sound good like if you play any guitar with distortion at practice volume it all sounds the same. the thing with hollows and semi-hollows is it gets alot of feed back at high volume. hope it made since cuz i dont think it did.
It does pretty good with Distortion. I completely use my solid body guitar for distortion tho and my Dot sparingly with it. A terrific solid body guitar that I have played in metal shows and what not would be a Scheter Omen 6. It is a cheap guitar, like an Epiphone Dot, but the Omen 6 is literally the most versatile guitar I've ever played. I've played 1000 dollar guitar that didn't sound as good as my Omen 6. If playing alot of distortion most of the time... Omen 6. Both wonderful guitars tho.
Gaz Coombes from Supergrass has both, but tends to use his Gibson ES-330, which this is based on, live. It depends on what your planning on using it for. I would probably go for this, I like the way it looks.
Play them both. See which feels better tp you. I love the neck on the Dot Studio. And I LOVE the way it looks. It just *feels* great to me. Mine also has an imperfection running through the wood which gives it a really cool one-of-a-kind look . For $250, this may be my favorite guitar. I have a Tele JA90 which I love but it ran about $700. For less than the price of a Les Paul, you can have them BOTH. (Love Les Pauls, too, dont get me wrong, but start with the $250 piece and work your way up.)
I own both. I've found that the telecaster sounds better for various types of music, while the Dot should pretty much be left to blues, which is all i really play anyway
It's probably setup. Also, Semi-hollows tend to go out of tune. But, that's fixable, whether it's locking sperzels, like on the Gibson Tom DeLonge ES-333, or just getting it set up.
I am just beginning to take some slightly advanced lessons, other than strumming chords. I love the sound of the semi-hollow body style. I really want to buy one of these. Would it be worth it, even if I can't play all that well?? I have a new Roland Cube 30X and a cheap target electric. I need someone to say "Ok yes go ahead buy it, you won't regret it"!! LOL
Hey Great playing!, i love this song it was the first album i bought with my own money when i was a kid and was the reason i started playing. You get nice tone on this and i enjoyed watching it.
