  • hi guys. can anybody advice which colour looks better worn cherry or brown?

  • DAMN! Nice!! I think this one costs 240€ here, so pretty awesome..

  • nice brown sugar

  • You cut off your feet on the video :D

  • I have this exact guitar - decided to get back into playing after 10+year absence from playing.

  • did you have to take off the pick guard or did it come with it off?

  • you rock! thats my dream guitar

  • nice video........ but i play lead so itll be a real help for me if theres inlays..... but on this guitar there arent.... any way i can put some on (without stickers because they can peel)

  • @JackHarperTv There are dots on the top of the neck. I have a goth flying v set up the same way. No problems knowing where you are

  • could you play heavier styles on this? like a hendrix style of playing? or would it just not be right? lool

  • could you perform with this?

  • i have a dot studio worn brown (and btw am planning 2 put a bigsby b700 on it) and after watching this video dont feel deserving of it

  • Most enjoyable demo - ever!

  • i love my epi dot the neck and action is like butter! nice tone too! but my 2 les pauls sound better 76 custon and 2008 58 vos 58 sounds the best

  • I want to see the demo with the speaker on the overdrive channel

  • Got one & i could not agree MORE

  • YeaHEAH! boogie-woogie at 1:50 love it :)

  • I played one in guitar center and really like it cus of the closeness of the strings to the frets, it would be great for the pop/punk band that I sing and play for but I have one question. Because of the semi-hollowbody, can it be used as acoustic also?

  • What's the song at around 1:00

  • I just bought this guitar yesterday because of this video :)

  • ordered a dot studio from germany 4-5 days ago, got it yesterday. Getting home tonight, can't wait to play it :D

  • brown suga yess mate

  • Where was your tone control set? You never touched it. If it was set to 10, it's a dark guitar. If it was set to 0, it's a bright guitar.

  • Some fun jingles in there for sure... great tone great guitar great playing GREAT JOB!

  • that guitar is sooooooo fucking sexy :D

  • that first song you played was "Brown Sugar" by The Stones, right?

  • How long you been playing for, mate?

  • ......pick up the PIEces.......yeeahh! ha cool

  • i like the funk man

  • how is your action set? got one of these yesterday and i still feel the bridge and pickup heights arn't quite right for me. out of the box the bridge and bridge pickup were set very high

  • Try playing this in an open G tuning - much better and easier to play that way ! DGDGBD - Brown Sugar

  • Try playing this in an open G tuning - much better and easier to play that way ! DGDGBD

  • i own a dot studio and i've broken it like 2 times and i like it enough to pay to get it fixed. they wean you of using the dots lol

  • That sounds pretty good for a cheap guitar.

Doesn't look the best, but damn I'm impressed.

  • Fan-TASTIC! You've entirely turned me around on this guitar - I've been avoiding even trying it!

  • ive been looking into getting one of theese for ages and u just gave me a reason to buy 1 haha cheers m8

  • what is the song u r playing at the very beginning?

  • @hammiebaby09 Brown Sugar I think. Rolling Stones

  • does it sound good when ur palm muting playing ?

  • hewow that was very nice and i was wondering how much you paid for your epiphone ?

  • finaly a normal demo of the guitar without the 10 minute hello my name is... and im going to show u... crap, just classical riffs to hear what it sounds like on the guitar. cheers man

  • is this guitar completely stock?

  • I really wish they made an es 175 out of mahogany with the red stain.

  • Blue? Did you paint it blue, or is it available (or was it) in blue tolex? is it blue tweed? It looks cool. I have only seen classic series amps in black or "lacquered tweed" that is actually twill with polyurethan, and occasionally you'll see the limited edition ones in solid mahogany or maple with some kind of flame finish, but those cost tice as much, and the wood itself would only cost the company an extra 10 bucks, so I decided to build my own cab (2x15, jensen P15s) and made a C-30 head.

  • Ive got a dot studio identical to that. I play it as much as any of my guitars, its got a rich, true tone... but you already know that. You enjoy that DOT(less), and keep picking, your sounding real good!

  • Lovely looking and sounding guitar, I'm thinking of getting one myself. Cool songs, I enjoyed your playing a lot!

  • Pick up the pieces (avg white band) (check out jeff golubs vrs

  • oh, by the way i love my dot studio

  • i've been looking at these studio dots, they realy have great tone

  • what's the song called at 0.55?

  • I got mine I'm about to change the pickups soon and put on some gibson 57 pickups. But I love my dot studio guitar it's the bomb. I use it on my beats I make with my fender p bass.

  • bought one from musicians friend for 239.00 two months ago, what a great sound.

  • rude mood yesssssssss!!!! lol good job

  • that was fucken nice..

..n i fucken want that guitar! shit is fucken nicee!!

  • LYNCH EM ALL

Nice guitar, you look like your havin fun

  • hollow wood is beautiful

  • what song is that funk riff at :48 from?

  • @bradyray1984: It's "Pick Up The Pieces" by Average White Band. And I'm NOT playing it correctly....... as I later came to realize.....

  • @dcooper830 hey how's the action on the dot studio?

  • @maciverandy the action is fully adjustable. And I have it set pretty low on mine.

  • @dcooper830 How did you adjust the action?

  • And does it have dots in the 3rd, 5th, 7th.... frets?

  • what's the difference between this and the regular epiphone dot?

  • The Dot Studio only has single volume and tone controls, and the finishes and hardware are more ornate on the standard Dot line.

  • ME RECUERDA A KYLE GASS!

  • hahaha he looks like he's having fun :D

  • ooh yeah :D

  • You have a great tone brother.

  • I have that guitar too!

By the way are you playing a cover or is it an original song cuz it sounds great!

P.S: The intro reminds me of "Jump" by Van Halen.

  • It's Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones.

  • Comment removed

  • what song are you playing cos it sounds great?

  • gordo tirate un pedo y prende la estufaaa

  • Squires are shit!, i just play my studio dot for angels and airwaves :L

  • how much does this weigh?

  • i dunno exact weight but you'd be suprised how light this thing is

  • I played it at a local shop today, and it's surprisingly light. I really want this guitar, it's awsome =)

oh yeah, Rude Mood is win.

  • reliant k"s lead singer plays one of these

  • I've played this guitar, it plays and sounds really good for $200.

  • is it a good guitar for ska and reggae?

  • of course

  • ive got this guitar

  • is it good how does kings of leon stuff sound on it :) ??

  • it sounds really good. if youre thinking of buying one, i would. its a good guitar for cheap hahah.

  • lmao !

thats what i was totally thinking when i was purchasing one ;)

  • I want some thick blues tone.

    Will this do the trick?

I've played a epiphone that mirros the 335.

For $200.00, it seems like a no brainer.

  • If you want blues get a strat

the squier classic vibe is good and in my opinion better than the mexican fender. get the 60s one for $350 it gives a thicker sound than the 50s, which is brighter

  • im guessing its better to play rock on this guitar, but i guess not metel

  • It can throw out metal tones too. But, if it isn't enough, it can handle a SD Invader without killing the clean tone.

  • TENACIOUS D!!!

  • should i get this guitar i plan on playing metal but i like the style of this does it sound good with distortion????? please answer

  • ive had this guitar for a year and its safe to say this guitar does not do metal. the action is too high and the tone is too bright. just get an ibanez or a jackson. bc rich is gay and so is dean.

  • what if i get a metal master distortion pedal????

  • well at low volume itll sound good like if you play any guitar with distortion at practice volume it all sounds the same. the thing with hollows and semi-hollows is it gets alot of feed back at high volume. hope it made since cuz i dont think it did.

  • if you suck at guitar then it will work, but if your playing scales and sweeps then dont get this guitar.

  • If your playing scales it'll suck? Please... Someone is basing technicality over the substance, here.

  • this comment was a response. the guy i'm talking to is a metal guitarist. i meant fast metal scales and sweeps. sorry for the confusion.

  • Yup, it has the same pickups as the Epiphone Les Paul Studio and Standard. So, yeah, it'll basically sound amazing.

  • It does pretty good with Distortion. I completely use my solid body guitar for distortion tho and my Dot sparingly with it. A terrific solid body guitar that I have played in metal shows and what not would be a Scheter Omen 6. It is a cheap guitar, like an Epiphone Dot, but the Omen 6 is literally the most versatile guitar I've ever played. I've played 1000 dollar guitar that didn't sound as good as my Omen 6. If playing alot of distortion most of the time... Omen 6. Both wonderful guitars tho.

  • you are really amazing!!hey men congratulation..your stile. is really good{!!

  • i dont know whether to get this or the Telecaster? Which one is better, i like Blues and Rock?

  • Gaz Coombes from Supergrass has both, but tends to use his Gibson ES-330, which this is based on, live. It depends on what your planning on using it for. I would probably go for this, I like the way it looks.

  • Play them both. See which feels better tp you. I love the neck on the Dot Studio. And I LOVE the way it looks. It just *feels* great to me. Mine also has an imperfection running through the wood which gives it a really cool one-of-a-kind look . For $250, this may be my favorite guitar. I have a Tele JA90 which I love but it ran about $700. For less than the price of a Les Paul, you can have them BOTH. (Love Les Pauls, too, dont get me wrong, but start with the $250 piece and work your way up.)

  • I own both. I've found that the telecaster sounds better for various types of music, while the Dot should pretty much be left to blues, which is all i really play anyway

  • whats the name of the song at

    0.50?

  • cut the cake?

  • Pick up the pieces by Average White Band

  • could you gig with this guitar?

  • The beginning is from the song Brown Sugar by the rolling stones.

  • How do you feel the mahogany body on this guitar compares to the usual maple body and necks on the sheratons?

  • im about 97% sure that the first 30 seconds are stones then i think he was just imporvising

  • theres definatly some old funk songs around 1:15, I just forget the name right now.

  • The song around 1:00-1:30 is pickup the pieces by AWB (Average White Band)

  • sounds like Rolling stones

  • Nice playing man. I just picked up one of these guitars today, but I don't really know how to play yet (gotta start lessons).

That's just an awesome sound you've got though.

  • i bet he just made it up as he go along lolz

  • oops, i only heard a bit the first time,,now i hear its "pick up the pieces"..but with that tone,it sounds alot like night court...is it just me?lol

guitar sounds awesome either way..i want one

  • night court..lol!

  • man ur awesome

  • Great playing!!

However the Dot doesn't do it for me. The thing would just not stay in tune. Pity cuz its not a bad sounding guitar too.

  • It's probably setup. Also, Semi-hollows tend to go out of tune. But, that's fixable, whether it's locking sperzels, like on the Gibson Tom DeLonge ES-333, or just getting it set up.

  • I am just beginning to take some slightly advanced lessons, other than strumming chords. I love the sound of the semi-hollow body style. I really want to buy one of these. Would it be worth it, even if I can't play all that well?? I have a new Roland Cube 30X and a cheap target electric. I need someone to say "Ok yes go ahead buy it, you won't regret it"!! LOL

  • You wont regret it.. but i recommend the Epiphone Dot, not the studio.. its roughly about $50 more, looks nicer, and muuch hotter pickups.

  • i love the minimalist look on the DOT..great playing man!!keep it up

  • What is the difference between regular dot and the studio?

  • less controls on the studio guitar, and the rest is just decoration, like the studio is undecorated (paint etc)

  • Hey Great playing!, i love this song it was the first album i bought with my own money when i was a kid and was the reason i started playing. You get nice tone on this and i enjoyed watching it.

P>S i also did a video with my dot guitar if you care to watch.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • I have this same guitar but hes way better than me

  • Like your videos alot. You really highlight the best tones of those semi-hollow bodies. Awesome playing!

  • is that guitar heavy?

  • theyre heavier than you would think, not quite les paul, just barely heavier than a strat.

  • give the tabs for the song

  • seccond songg!!???

  • Pick Up The Pieces - Average White Band

  • what is the first song?

  • Brown Sugar by the rolling Stones.

    Played pretty well

  • Sweet video!

  • damn that's perfect tone for some rolling stones.

  • im thinkin about buyin this guitar, i was wondering do they have the dot fret markers along the top of the neck?

  • Yes there are dot markers along the top of the neck. I'd hardly be able to play it otherwise... LOL!!

  • Nice setup! Sounds great!

  • i like the deluxe they look better

  • just personal preferance really man. i like this one better. i sanded down my gibson 335 to look like that man. only put two coats of lacquer on it bro.

  • i would like to buy a dot..shoul i take the dot studio or only the regular dot?

  • studio better than the regular and looks cooler to

  • This guy found the right guitar for his style. Sounds great and he looks like he has fun playing it too. "Keep on a Rock'in dude." :)

  • Sounds great, but I like the way the normal, elitist, and deluxe Dots look better.

  • does this guitar have a tuno - matic bridge?

  • i have the same guitar and i would recommend it to everybody to at least try one. they are great guitars

  • very nice !

    keep on rockin

ps. the song is brown sugar by the stones

  • wats the first song

  • I buy the same guitar this afternoon!

  • The dot studio is a great guitar, these are the guitars I compared it to before I bought mine. ( Hamer Echo-tone, Epiphone Dot, Ibanez Artcore's, Epi.Sheraton, Gibson 335 ). My guitar sounded great stocked but I changed the pickups and put a phase in-out on the pickups. (Push-Pull). I may buy another one just to keep stock. Try several because they all feel different.

  • Could describe what in and out of phase does in terms of its tonal differences

  • Sure, actually what it dose is cut the coils in half on a double coil humbucker, giving your guitar a thinner sound more of a Fender Strat type sound. My pickups are very high output so this works great with my Studio Dot. You can get a really good acoustic guitar sound with your volume roled down.

  • Rock On!!! Nice axe..I'm gettin' one.

  • Again, excellent play and fingerwork. Really enjoy the selection of music. 3 Dot's, you should be a Epi spokesperson

  • what song is that in the begining?

  • Brown Suger - The Rolling Stones

  • Not as good as the jay sturser jt-135, but pretty good

  • How is the playabillity?

  • It has a fat chunky neck. But I'm able to get the action nice and low so it plays very easy. Also the worn finish gives it a very nice broken in feel. This guitar is a joy to play!

  • good play! ... I got the black one...

  • woa, when i saw the price i wouldnt think it would have that much bite, nice playing

  • Brown Sugar!nice playing.

    like the epiphone too.

  • Back in the 40s middle late 40s Epiphone was its own co. because of a man named Epi and all they made was Semi-hallow bodies Until Gibson Came out with thier guitars and bought out Epiphone, Epiphone was a great guitar(witch still is to me) But Gibson Sold all over the world and Became very popular in the 50s witch i belive made gibson buy out Epiphone. witch is why now Epiphone is making les pauls and SG(G-400). just like how Fender and squier

  • whats the difference between the epiphone dot studio and regular epiphone dot? other than the price thanks

  • dot studio doesn't have all the finishing touches the regular dot has for example the regular dot has pickup covers and has a glossy finish but the studio has a matte finish but there is not much difference in the tonal part
