  • I think the fact that moceanu did all these money spinning things outside of gymnastics distracted her and ultimately made her fail in her nxt bid. she shoulda trained harder

  • You can see that dismount from bars hurt Dominique...she was lucky too, she looked very close to missing the low bar a couple of times.

  • I know 1:38 wasn't Tesh's fault, but still. Poor Milo.

  • amanar's vault looks like a single twist instead of a double. strange

  • @benrobinson77 It's cause she twists so fast in the air.

  • OMG was that Forminte with Simona after VT??? MAN WAS HE DIFFRENT!

  • Simona was a long-time Deva girl, Alexandra was not. That's why Simona was in the AA - not because of Alex's supposed poor work ethic.

  • Alexandra was known for her rather rebellious nature and Simona was by far the hardest working student at Deva. However, both Bellu ad Bitang had great respect for Alexandra's talent and expected her to become a sensation. Unfortunately, major health problems (her back) cut her career short.

  • @AnaCiubotaru Yes, Alex was rebellious, and I have heard from various sources that Simona was a very hard worker. Read Alex's book for the low-down on the Belu-Bitang-Marinescu triangle. It was pretty bad, according to Alex.

  • The Romanians are seem much, much happier with Forminte. Someone like Ana Pogras would not have happened with B&B, they ironed out individuality.

Gina Gogean could have been more like that she started out dynamic and quirky dispite her shyness. By 1993 it had been watered down.

  • @GymFloozie No it is because Simona got the highest AA score of any gymnast in the World in team optionals. It was a huge 39.387. In fact had she done that in the AA final she would have blown Lilia away for the gold. Simona was just a stronger contender for the AA than Marinescu. That is why she replaced her. Simona was ALWAYS going to replace someone after she fell. She was the Romanian anchor on 3 of 4 events in optionals. Marinescu was outscored by Milo and Gina so it was her.

  • At 4:25 etc. Milo looks like Alexandra's sister.

  • Belu's telling Milo: "Okay, here's how it is. Either you do this good, or you walk home. It's all the same to me. I'm gonna have to deal with Alexandra all the way back, so just do this good and take some of the heat off me."

  • I love Milo's music...but the ending is bizarrely abrupt.

  • dm's bars were real good too

  • Simona's Vault was SICK AS FUCK!!! AWESOME!

  • After 1994, watching Milo on floor got very painful.

  • She really looked sluggish and heavy in her movements.

  • sorry 9 months after you made your comment...I tend to agree-Lavinia looked bored and laboured generally TBH after about 94' I think...personally anyway...im sure other will disagree....I think some call the romanians robots but if you look at 92' they werent...they just got older and 'looked' bored...

  • I think they were probably hurt (injured) - I know Milo had an ankle problem here. Plus having two of their girls injured caused stress. And the fact that they had to sit by and watch the Americans take the team gold. But you're right - Milo didn't look her usual self, not like she did in 92.

  • It was in the US... All of the girls who were not american were bored, according to a Belu's interview I read years ago...

  • Ahh right, thanks for replying

  • It was indeed the US. Bellu explained that the 96 Olympics was simply a nightmare for the Romanian team. They really wanted and expected to win but EVERYTHING was against them there (not just the injuries and the crowd), according to Mr. Bellu.

  • @AnaCiubotaru The way I had it scored was:

    Atlanta 1

    Romania 0

I'm glad the U.S. won team gold, but I soooo loved the Romanian team of this era. It was a nightmare for them. But they came back and kicked ass in Sydney.

  • asa e, Americanii sunt indivizi fie ca castiga (pe nedrept) sau nu!

  • why wasn't amanar penalized for not using the u-mat/safety zone? she performed a yurchenko without it. isn't that supposed to result in a score of 0?

  • um. mind explaining a lil here? im pretty gymnastic rules stupid :D what safety zone? didnt she land on the mat? o.o & whats yurchenko

  • the u-mat is a mat they put around the springboard when a gymnast is performing any type of yurchenko vault.

a yurchenko vault is a vault in which the gymnast does a roundoff onto the springboard & then a back-handspring onto the horse. basically, if they just run, jump onto the springboard, and perform the vault, it is NOT a yurchenko. if they do a roundoff first, it IS a yurchenko.

  • ah... i see :D thanks! :)

  • Not back then.

  • i think it was the gymnast's choice back then

  • WOW!!! they really r amazing at gymnastics=)

  • "this is very difficult to do"

    these commentators are idiots

of course it is difficult to do

    it is the fricking olympics

  • They mean in the scope of gymnastics.....perhaps the people who don't realize that are the idiots.

  • i <3 Lavinia Milosovici! but wats scarlet fever that she got???

  • search for these:

    Olympic AA Part 10

    Olympic AA Part 11

    Olympic AA Part 12

  • where is part 11? please....!! :)

  • amanar had an amazing vault average wow

  • Well, duh, she's a vault specialist. In fact, she won the Olympic gold on VT!

  • noooo i need part 11 lol

  • OMG WHERE IN PART 11?? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?? =]

    heeelp!

  • who's on floor while simone's vaulting?

  • she is from japan but i forgot her name . . .

  • Risa Sugawara.
