@jfilesbooks Thats true and TBH I was kinda enjoying the movie until that point cuz i can understand adding filler to make the story long enough for a movie but altering the story is uncalled for.
@kingfisher559 If this movie is anti-woman..then how come they showed 3 good women in the movie? His mother, his dead wife, and Miriam....case closed...movie is not anti-woman. If you get offeneded by anything so small...you have a brain disordder...For example, I am russain, I do not get offended at Russian jokes. I make fun of my own people sometimes. If you get offended easily by anything...well I reccommend that you see a doctor.
A miracle! Another scarlet Pagan whore seduced by Israel. Delilah goes from bejewelled Philistine whore to an austere Orthodox Jewish woman! Wow! This is the same thing Joseph did to the women of Egypt! Who can resist? Surely no woman is a match for a Jew.
Bullshit! Bullshit! The attempt of Judeo-Christians to match the Greeks tales of Hercules but with a Judaic twist.
@yosefbenyosef This is a Cecil B Demile film. His bible movies were not always accurate. Remember the 10 Commandments? That movie did not really follow the actual bible story, like it was only 70% of the bible story, the rest was DeMile's ideas. Same thing in this movie, DeMile is showing a scene not based on the book of judges. Pretty much this entire is only 30% based on the actual story, the rest is all DeMile's creation of a love story.
So Delilah of the mighty Philistines falls as a convert to the Holy One of Israel like the Queen of Sheba. This is Bullshit. There was never anything significant about Israel to justify these myths.
@yosefbenyosef No where in the bible does Delilah become a convert you moron. It is only in this movie...which is only loosely based on the actual story.
Delilah never actually cut Samson's hair. She caused him to go to sleep and she had a male cut his hair. She later woke him and Samson strengh was gone so the Philistines could overpower Samson and blind him. Check Judges 16. I choose to use the Bible as the authority.
the bible says that the philistines "made sport with him". Jewish folklore holds that he was bred to willing philistine women and his descendants were among the giants that produced GOLIATH who fought against the shepherd boy / King David
I LOVE this movie!!! Delilah is such a good dramatic role and Hedy Lamar is perfect as Delilah! She is GORGEOUS!!

Seems like true love always has a price.
They were together in the movie before, but it was never real. He didn't trust her (switching the cups) and she was playing him from the beginning.
It cost Samson his greatest value- his strength.
It cost Delilah her greatest value- her confidence.
But then, they found love at last.
Those two wound't have fallen in love in the movie any other way.
I wonder, is the cost of THAT kind of love, priced that high?

Interesting that Samson is quoting scripture that won't be written for many years.
