  • Wonderful, enjoyable and thank you!

  • After a masterclass with this ND, I can assure that you have never heard an oboe until you have been in the same room as this incredible man.

(Leicester Music Festival Mozart 13 Winds send our greetings ;)

  • 0:44 - 1:12 My Favorite Part!!

  • What fine playing! Good show sir. I have recently begun the oboe journey, and it's a long one indeed. One day I hope to play Mozart as you do. Your pitch, tone, interpretation and articulation are untouchable. Keep up the great work!

  • @nakedBison69 Same ole same ole - still don't know why this person is so obsessed with Obama though - pretty weird. I mean, what does Obama have to do with Women being arrested at the Kotel for praying? To the un-initiated out there, this is the kind of mentality we have to deal with here in Israel. It is a shame what sometimes happens to religion - we see it in Islam with Taliban and in Judaism too. Hard to be sympathetic but one has to if only to pity those who hide in their darkness...

  • Just found out that one could actually reach the A''' on the oboe. Thought the highest note possible was F''' or something around that. The reed must undoubtedly be a very fine one. Bravo, Nicholas.

  • It's like the oboe is singing a beautiful song!

  • This....This is inspirining to me.

I only wish I could be this good. xD

  • Beautiful - I just loved it. Thank you for sharing.

  • perfect!!!

  • This is my favorite movement of this concerto - and I just started working on it yesterday! :)

    You play it so beautifully!

  • The note he plays at 6:46 is beyond amazing. I'm sitting here with goosebumps all over me. Utterly astounding.

  • @eclair9 he hit a top a'''! I didn't think you could get higher than gsharp'''

  • I love it, and you're so damn good. I love your sound...

  • Thank you for posting this; it was perfect.

  • Wunderschön, ich liebe Mozart! I love it!

  • :'(

  • Nice Cadenza!

  • This is amazing! The tone is so clear and light! It's BEAUTIFUL! BRAVO!

  • Nice playing. I have your CD of French Oboe Sonatas and it is one of my favorites.

  • nicholas daniel oh wow whenever i listen to any of these songs you have on youtube it's just pure beauty to my ears

  • BRAVO...the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra drops a note!

  • And ND sends warm greetings to the ABO!

  • Beautiful - you are a marvellous player. I am always impressed when I hear you, and you dont bob aound like many do these days (which is so offputting visually and I believe spreads the sound around too much) Just heavenly.

  • Hi Nick,

You sound fantastic! I just happened upon this while looking for the Mozart Concerto to play for someone - I had no idea this type of thing was on YouTube - very exciting. See you next month. Love, Michele

  • Your welcome, and this has to be my favorite and the most famous movement. i think Mozart will be forever renowned for his slow movements (for any wind).

  • i can only say ..... amazing.

This guy has worked his sound and embochure to such an extent that is very impressive.

Congrats!! great inspiration to other fellow oboists.

  • Just beautiful! Thanks, Nicholas.

  • Did you write your own cadenza? It's very interesting, it sounds beautiful! I'm performing the Mozart Concerto soon, so I was just interested in hearing other cadenzas.

  • Yes they are my cadenzas, partly impovized partly written out, on this auspicious occasion I think I stuck to what I planned!

  • Nicholas,

you are an amazing oboe player. you play so heavenly and it brings me smiles of joy and happiness. your talent will definitely enable to you to continue for you to succeed in life. never give up the oboe. you can and will go far in this world.

anyway this movement is SO darn pretty. Mozart really knows how to work the oboe. XD. but still, with your playing it's like you are reviving in real life what Mozart was thinking/hearing in his head. well done. simply beautiful.

  • your comment is great, idk who would have given it a thumb's down . in any case i changed it! :D

  • Dear Nick, I am so thankful to know you. I admire your musicianship and your good heart. It had an important role in the way I play and my personality. Thank you so very much for being the way you are! I am in tears every time I hear you play.
