  • The coolest thing about this kind of music is that it is the past AND the future. I can't get enough. One of my favorites.

  • Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for this song for quite some time. I'm not really familiar with BOC, but after hearing this track, I'm interested in their other works. I like this song because it sounds sad, yet soothing. It makes me think of the winter at night or when its snowing and no one is around.

  • @RalphCQ SALAD FINGERS! - that creepy little guy from those cartoon shorts that looks like your uncle. Google it. He's on youtube too

  • Thumbs up if you went looking for the comment from Raspoutine.

  • I like looking at the demographics.

Middle-aged dudes love this nostalgic stuff.

I say this as a middle-aged dude who loves this nostalgic stuff.

  • I'm curious, what is the salad fingers reference?

  • what the fuck is a salad fingers

  • Why did SALAD FINGERS ass-baby creators rape the work of this lovely lovely band?

  • Classic

  • BoC are legends. Hexagon sun and Kid for Today are also good singles by them.

  • well said, Ras! these guys should be far more famous than they are! truly talented! they bring me back to circa 1971-73 for some reason, yet at the same time, they are the future!

  • @THEORIGINALSCIPPIO I've often pondered how boards can achieve driving itself into the deepest regions of your concsiouisness only to conclude I have no answer only the proof of what I hear.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • Someone! Make a remix of this and Ghost in the shell by Aphex Twin, where Ghost in the shell is slowed down!

  • reminds me of Akira Yamaoka so much...

  • Every time I look for BoC music online, I always find songs I've never heard before. I don't think I'll ever run out...

  • I'M STONED AND I LOVE IT

  • @tgmnewman Faggot.

  • I don't know why I like the song and at the same time the song scares me!

  • That tiny room at the beach was absolutely the perfect place for my first time. When we came together, I could feel the hairs growing on my chest. I saw my future. I saw my past. For a few minutes it was like being alive. They lived happily ever after. All my questions had been answered. All my fears disappeared. All that was left was a kiss. Every move we made was a kiss.

  • @danceflooroddities

I imagined one rapping this to this song

  • @Sillybazzle Actually they say this in a few of their songs its just extremely quiet, if you have a very good sound setup you can hear it at 2:16ish. Mine isn't quite as good as it used to be so I can't hear it. (soundcard died baww) It's whispering keep in mind.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sillybazzle Well yeah its a sample but its still a message, and BoC was really interested in subliminal messaging so this song is effectively about whats said, which is the romantic description of having sex for your first time so in saying what you're saying you're really just shitting all over the artists original message.

  • @Zaekk :)

  • I bet the first minute of this video is what you see right when you die .. trippy!

  • Fuck off with the Salad Fingers references.

  • @BatchMeta Good idea. It was orgasmeec

  • Marjorie Stewart Baxter you taste like sunshine dust

  • i just cant explain how otherworldly i feel when listening to boc its like being on a guided tour of an alien planet

  • It's a thick, warm, organic lullaby that is played in the womb during a child's development.

  • If this was the only song that survived the demise of humans and other forms of life heard it, they would think humans were actually intelligent

  • @Junket622 Not only would they think us intelligent, but peaceful!

Alas, their archaeologists would then dig up our destroyed cities and find the evidence of our brutality and feel pity. But for 5:19, they would see the humane side of humanity.

  • this song leaves me with feelings of hopelessness and futility. but i still love it :D

  • @RMJ1984 youre right! : D

  • GTa 4 ICEnhancer mod Hell yeah that is what brings people here!.

  • this reminds me of a most excellent time traveling adventure.

    sixtynine dudes

  • I could walk all day to this tune!!

  • My all time favorite BOC track.

...Does this make anyone else think about 1987 TMNT?

  • sounds like tycho music

  • @74indigo BoC have been releasing stuff since the 80s. So I'm guessing Tycho/Scott got influenced by them :-)

  • i always find myself singing along to the lead syth for some reason

  • 2:17 am I the only one who listen whispers there?

  • @PanteraReloaded No, its there, and it goes on longer.

Quite a lot of BOC has subtle shit.

  • @mikeisapro hm

  • @PanteraReloaded Nope. It's also louder in "Sir Prancelot Brainfire".

  • @Daghead hm, k

  • @PanteraReloaded You should get yourself checked out, buddy. Might be AIDS.

  • @420LoveAndPeace rofl, yeah makes alot of sense

  • specially cuz im still a virgin

  • @PanteraReloaded me too!

  • .. so is this porn music?

  • @PanteraReloaded

Well it should be used in porn. Like everything else.

  • @Brando2600 .__. lol

  • @PanteraReloaded

    Like everything else BoC*

  • This video is amazing!

  • I can't believe none of the top comments are about the song name Sixtyniner (69er)

  • now THIS!!! is a love song.... no words, but just as beautiful, and just as tragic.

  • Ambiance at its best.

  • @Kornd0g8 You said, "drugs do not enhance creativity; they hinder it"

You seem oblivious to the fact that you trip balls every night on DMT. You're a carrier and user of a schedule one drug. Nightly. You speak of educating one's self and yet you seem rather ignorant. This makes you seem laughable. All I'm saying is try not to be too much of a negative nancy. It makes people not want to be around you.

But, hey, do what you like.

    Cheers.

  • @bobbygnosis everyone thinks of heroin and coke when they think of drugs. people like alexander shulgin didnt work so hard so we could just fake our reality. much more would i say certain hallucinogens catalyse the brain to prodtrude some of the more intricate thoughts we supress to function as an evolutional stepping stone. only when we can retaliate this horrible misconception and enhance our existance, be it through meditation, drugs, or other sensory stimulants.

  • @wattapassa

You simply couldn't be more correct. Nice comment.

  • Beautiful tune.

  • sublime.

  • I felt my houseplants communicating to me when I listened to this song one day. I felt their gratitude. The video is so deep to me as it reminds us that all things are connected.

  • @Kornd0g8

How do you know so damn much about drugs if your so against taking them, smartass?

  • As a Canadian, I was very sad when I found out this group wasn't Canadian, because they're fucking awesome. 6 People apparently have been huffing too much paint.

  • a wistful glance back at bygone times. one of these all time favorite songs for me.

like the boc maxima version much more, somehow more powerful sound. dont understand why all youtube vids of this song have the twoism version :(

  • for those who have a system in they car...... the low's on here will stop your heart beatin in you got 4 12's off a good amp you cant hear the bass.....you feel this syht at 1st dont sound as it got bass...dont let cheap SPEAKERS FOOL YOU.....lol

  • @lexusclass2

I thought I was the only one with 12's listening to BOC. glad to know im not alone :)

  • @lexusclass2 *sigh* i feel a need to like..say something to you. a thank you. for respecting sound in general..by listening to as broad of a frequency as possible..the lows are sooo important. people just don't understand that you'll never find music you really like without hearing the whole range. little shitty lap top speakers just don't cut it unless your like..addicted to like..realllyyy cheasy pop were only the accessable lyrics matter =/

  • This song makes me imagine Salad Fingers riding a bicycle in France and having a happy time.

  • @Raspoutine I like rusty spoons

  • This song is the most shallow of all BoC songs. Good job finding it, at least it has nice drum loops

  • This song really touches my soul in a way most won't understand,

  • BoC always has a way of making me feel at ease, any troubles i have or worries. I can find solice in the fact this is always here for me.

  • @J81zzle I couldn't agree more bro. I respect what you had to say cause I can so relate.

  • @J81zzle well said..

  • Ah, I guess that must be why their music is so unpopular...from the negative influences. Maybe if they never did any drugs they're music could have been so much better.........get real.

  • @Kornd0g8 FRYLY1 makes a good point, you're obviously straight edge. Hence the reason you seem to find some comments 'disrespectful' or don't understand. As for my point.. are you serious? For example look at just about any huge rock band (guns n roses, chili peppers, lynrd skynrd) you're trying to tell me these people werent influenced in their music by drugs? Look at famous DJs (chemical brothers, prodigy, hawtin, aphex, etc) these people were massively influenced by ecstasy in their music...

  • @Kornd0g8 You are completely deluding yourself if you don't think most musicians were influenced by drugs in creating their music. Whether it be dance, rock, blues, whatever.

  • BoC is the best they deserve a Grammy hands down.

  • @Kornd0g8 Its cool that you are straight edge man, more power to you. But you dont understand the point of view of your so called "Drug user". You see music like this is beautiful when sober, but it is like a diffrent song when high or on a tab. Its like 2 diffrent versions of the song. So please dont be so quick to judge a so called "Drug user". This life is an adventure so leave the pepole be and let them explore and experience this life to the fullest.

  • pretentious sublime introverted lovelyness

  • @HerrFOAD pretentious...?

  • Anyone bad mouthing drugs in this video should remember its highly probable this music was created by BoC under the influence of drugs.

  • They are totally above the expectation level of what ur ears really strive to listen...

  • Why do people want to "trip" to BOC? When I listen to BOC it makes me think of how people are idiots and they are like the stupid little monkeys throwing poo at each other at the zoo and that people are so simple they do these drugs. BOC makes me think of how unimportant all of my problems really are and that everything will be ok.

  • @bethany311997 I dont need the drug, the music affects me more than any drug would. Its an acquired appreciation; I cant describe it. All of BOCs music is brilliantly amazing, or it just sucks. This is one of the best songs Ive heard by them, yet almost everything else ohn the album isnt worth it. I love the album cover, too. I can stare at it forever. The music is simple, and thus unlocks the mind, as it needs to fill in the missing parts...hence the "trip"

  • Comment removed

  • @bethany311997 I think people relate music like this to drugs because both music and drugs give you a euphoric feeling....This is definitely euphoric and beautiful..the shounds and the melody are perfect..ive never done drugs before, but i can say that some ttypes of music make me feel orgasmic if you can percieve that.

  • @bethany311997 dont patronize drug users. psychedelic drugs are a completely valid way to explore both the world and ourselves. no one is "superior" to anyone else simply because they enjoy life without substances.

  • Tripped on DMT while listening to this.

  • very fine indeedy...boc puts you on a full cycle in a washing machine...tyvm,great sounds n track!

  • Amazing video... beautiful

  • Amazing video, beautifully done

  • I feel like had I not experienced psychedelic drugs in my life this music would make no sense to me.

  • @MrJas1991

I think that's degrading the music. It can be appreciated without drugs. It's great on drugs too.

  • this fan made video is actually pretty awesome. the song is fantastic too!

  • Sounds like MegaMan searching for his soul...

  • This needs to be used in a movie. I see someone dealing with the death of a loved one to this tune. Also, I could see this being used in slow motion shots of planets.

  • The most emotional peice of music I know of. Listen to this when seriously depressed, smoke some weed and just drift away in oblivion.

  • @invanorm Amen. A movie about my life would start with this piece. Or a scene where I reminisce about my childhood. I can't decide.

  • this is the music of synapses.

  • I love listening to Boards of Canada while I'm on a dxm, 2-ce, or shrooming trip. It opens up my mind so much more than I thought anything could have.

  • @babygrl5016xoxo try DMT with boards of canada, i swear to god, youll end up in another dimension for like 5 minutes haha

  • the best 5 min and 19 sec ive had in a while now.

  • 5 people didn't like this?? pffffffftttt

  • This makes me think about how loving causes you to fear dying more.

  • 5 people dont like it??....what??

  • first time heard this song it calmed me down and made me feel relaxed the mystical sounds makes me feel like in a differnt time a world and dimension where anything is possible beyond imagination, lisetned to it again while rolling...omg. words cannot describe.. lol

  • 3:51 to 4:30

  • lolololo sixtynin- *gets shot*

  • @stearn56

hey! i wish my friends would comprehend boc, too. but they unfortunately don't. i think you must have like a 6th sense to comprehend and not everybody has a 6th sense. but at least we do stearn!

  • The only thing I remember from my childhood is Boards of Canada.

  • BoC is the best in the world..hands down in my mind.. it's more then just music, it's.. hell you can't even explain it.. it's like another dimension. We can experience it only slightly but have no comprehension of it.... I hope one day I can do the same.

  • @Partyywizard Exactly.

Listening to BoC you feel like you're in an entirely different time. A different planet, different people, different everything. It's such emotional music and I can't explain how I feel about it in words.

  • @dezeya2k7 lol you should cut down on the drugs yo.

  • @Partyywizard this is that kind of music, where I always think.. How did the Producer made this Song? what is happening in his head while he creates this awful melodies, these bright pads panning from left to right , filling everything in this room...

when i listen to that kind of music, I always wanna meet the Composer right now, just to ask him how he was creating this sound, or just wanna chill with him, and makin an beat!!

music isnt always that genius, much people don´t even know da feelin

  • @gregor9356

I know right... I really think it just takes absolutely shit-loads of time to get to this state of production perfection. But a lot of the time it is far, far more basic than the average listener assumes. Take Four Tet, for example. I presume the people watching this video are familiar with Four Tet. He simply sources beats from random places, loops them and changes speed etc. Adds riffs respectively and hey, hes got an album. You simply never know...

  • @Partyywizard i feel the same. i smoked weed in vancouver for the 1st time in my life and listened to this with a girl i met that night. we sat for hours and our mind went to far beyond places. we came up with the idea of painting eachothers bodies with fluorescent paints under a ultra violet light while high listenin to this song. Thats next week :)

  • @Partyywizard its..everything you do..but a baloon

  • John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • @Mooman07771 NO need to get hostile... I don't believe in God either, but until it's proven that hier0phant is wrong, he can believe whatever he wants, no?

BoC, bringing peace to the world.

  • @hier0phant Right on!!!!

  • Sounds like Akira Yamaoka :-)

  • Falling in love with BOC

  • Revelation 21:6

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

  • feelings my boner

  • BOC,they give true meaning to emotions and fellings

  • @josieZSG Ageed

  • OMFG - TEXTp is so cool! Is this April Fool's only??? I want to see this video in ASCII foreverrrrr

  • The beginning reminds me of those 80's health science movies I used to watch in school.

  • I think this is one of the best tracks by BOC.

Nothing wrong with drugs, it's just most of the morons that take them......

  • Music is what feelings sound like.

  • @stiggyh

... exactly what i thought the first second i started this song. Nothing new to me, but these words just fit immediately.

  • my friends dont get this.

  • I really know how you feel.

  • For some reason, this song depresses me.

It kinda sounds like something that could play in a movie's credits.

  • perfect song to chill out to with a nice cold beer

  • @VideoKiwi2008 I like the way you thin, good sir

  • this song is just unreal.

  • good job.

  • Amazing song.

    My favorite from BoC.

    They rule.

    Overgrow the Government.

  • bleh my friends dont understand boc music, they call it pothead music, which it is, it really helps me balance out my mind, when i smoke a nice blunt and blast a track of BOC on my headphones, my body, mind and high, feel lifted.

  • People talos about boc, saying that their music is either a representation of childhood mongieness or tailored for lame-o-lians who need to get utterly spliffwhackeded to enjoy a beat and a melody...i know what you mean man,i know what you mean.

  • these guys are straight up ridiculous!!!

    INSANE songg!

  • Thanks for the video. I hadn't seen this when I put mine together, interesting! I hope you don't mind me riding 69er on yours

  • classic, this song is amazing :D
