Basic Income Grant is called welfare. All you have to do is get pregnant, deal drugs, avoid work and wear your pants down around your thighs.

You're talking about people who have adjusted the system because the system is not willing to adjust to the people. Crazy world, isn't it ?

@BellaBargilly I disagree, I in fact advocate the National Initiative, Fair Tax, as well and most strongly the Basic Income and yet confiscating income to the extent that you desire would have ominous effects upon technology which hurts the populace.

Neither is tax, debt, inflation or profit - these are all 'side-effects' of a closed-system like the current one, wherein money is made to be 'scarce'. that is a crime in itself.

"fair tax" is favorited by all those who fear losing what they apparently have, so "let's give them 'fair tax' so we can all have our 'peace of mind'..."

- this however is not going to the root of the problem!

My final point:

Here in America, the federal government has no rightful power under the Constitution to enact UBI unilaterally, but States CAN make agreements (binding only on those participating States) to allow Congress to do this.

I'm sure any States that did not wish to be involved in UBI would reverse their decisions once they witness its positive effects within the participating States.

The UBI would need to be paid in equal amount to every citizen. Unless there's a strict legal prohibition on unequal distribution, the politicians may face pressure by certain constituencies to give them preferential treatment ... since the living expenses of people can differ in some respects.

Before we can implement UBI and eliminate the welfare state, we need to completely change our monetary and tax systems.

What we spend now on welfare is irrelevant because all the currency is privately created debt-money, which gets sucked back into the commercial banks + interest. We need debt-free, publicly issued money.

And the only fair way to fund UBI would be primarily from taxes on the market value of finite natural resources under private ownership (land, broadcast spectrum, etc.).
