@Afrocanuk People who live in apartment buildings (generally) don't have to drive more than 150 miles in a week. Find someplace on the weekend you can go and steal power from a 220 outlet (maybe go to a parking garage and pay a dude 5 bucks to plug in for a few hours)
@richgilb - Maybe that's the way it is in the U.S. but here in Canada there are lots of people in sales that does extensive driving to and from clients. The need to drive from Toronto to Winsor can happen at any time; even twice in the same week.
Actually I'd like to see a simple cheap EV that everybody can buy. Remember why many of us want them, because we care about the Earth and the air we breath. Pricing out of the range of the masses just means these cars only serve as toys for the wealthy.
I absolutely hate the oil industry and here I am still driving a gas engine car with no end in site.
@itsrickinaz While I think that stuff is important, I want an electric car because I hate this country's reliance on oil. Also, the price of electricity to power these vehicles cannot be beat.
What are you guys going to do when Saturn stops production? Let's get people with money to buy Saturn and make all the Saturn's cars an optional 100% EV. You in?
So happy where finally getting this started. Now these Arab sand niggers can finally go poor and once again become irrelevant to the world then rot on in thier primitive barbarian lifestyl without anyone in the world giving a fuck since oil will no longer be a value
what will fuel all the extra power plants these electric cars are going to need? the government isnt going to let all these oil companies go bankrupt, they're gonna just start selling oil to power plants instead of gas stations.
nuclear is an option but it's probably not going to happen.
I think they will have to build a lot of high tech wind power generators. Also install maglev trains to change the jets cause there will be no oil in like 30 years.

Have a look at Regenedyne: /watch?v=xWKNMt9rsIA
We can also switch to geothermal, which is abundant, clean, and can generate energy around the clock.
Maglev is def the way to go as far as transportation goes. Fastest/cleanest means of transportation, hands down.
GM is too fucking stupid.. I hate being so blunt, but they had an all electric car.. The EV1 2nd generation got like 125/miles per charge. They WANT to worship oil companies..
Looks like it will cost about $50000 in total to buy a Saturn Sky and have it converted to an AMP.
It uses Lithium Phosphate - are these fast-charge batteries like A123's Nanophosphate product? If so, does its power train support fast-charge points for 10 minute charges on the road?
Why's the conversion for this car? why didn't you pick an older car like a Fiero or Miata or some other car that the price of the car is low, the engine and drive train is worn out and then all they need is you guys to swap in the conversion and the final product would be much cheaper.
True. but if people were to purchase an electric car, or mainly pay more attention to an electric car. The only good marketing choice would be a new style vehicle..
best alternative to spending over 100k and waiting 2yrs on build list..Im looking into it.so buy used saturn sky for 19k have them convert to electric 25k//about 45k you have an incredible electric car.........
Very cool, and for about the same price ($25K)as a Mallett V8 conversion. Saw the specs on AMP's web site and although this car is slower than the Tesla, and has less range, it costs about 1/2 of a Tesla.
sounds and looks nice. is it a conversion or did you design and build the body too?
the camera work could be better though. awfully shaky. is it some device that's not really meant for video? like a still camera or cell phone? use a DV camera with image stabilizer at least. makes a world of difference

Very very nice!
All we can hope now (actually only *dream* of) is that the rest of the american population and most of all, your fucked up, dumbshit, ass-hat, Halliburton rim-job, not even ELECTED president will wake up to something like this and help develop it into something affordable for EVERYONE. We in Europe are WAY ahead of you since we actually GIVE A SHIT about our environment and the people around us and don't think ourselves the MASTERS of the planet and OH SO COOL.
electric car is easy, but there is inherent problem, the $10000 battery pack, yep, and unfortunatelly that thing dies, just like the battery in your cellphone, electric cars been here even before the internal combustion ones, the tech in not a problem, the batter is, and it is not solved yet, sorry, thats the problem here in Tesla and anywhere where the batteries are used.
So a third party company can take a Sky and add all the equipment needed to make it an Electric car. Any why can't the geniuses at GM can't do this? No wonder GM is screwed and loosing all that money. Where's the innovation?
Who said they can't do it? They can do it, but ask AMP how long before you have to replace this battery? GM doesn't want to built a product that will anger you in 4 years.
The correct spelling is guess. Who is the moron now? Maybe that is what a dictionary or spell check is for moron.
While it is easy to find fault in others, perhaps you should work on the faults in yourself first? Way to gum up a decent video with your poorly controlled anger and rhetoric.

The Oil companies are trying their best to stop free energy ideas from spreading to common ppl.
We need to put an end to this corruption ,start generating your own electricity now.
