  • man i'm 33 yrs old a mom of 5 & trying to get bac into college i thought i was to old to do so i was getting all discourage & depress but hearing her story jus motivated me & inspired me tht ure never to old to get ahead & do anything u set ure mind to !! :)

  • Why??? I hate to be mean but she's 95, she will never use or need a major and theres no way in hell she's still working. Why waste all the money going to college when she could have one of her grand kids to college. Or worse, if she used financial aid, she just took it away from someone who might have really needed it.

  • @IronOnyx1 Going to college isn't just about getting a job. Maybe she just wanted to get out of the house and learn something new. Maybe it's been a life long dream of hers to finish college and she put it off many times in her life for one reason or another. Every time someone does something great there's always a negative moron like you who comes along and shits on it.

  • Seriously, there's nothing "cute" about elderly people who enroll in colleges and take financial aid and scholarship money away from younger kids who will have a hard enough time getting hired in this economy after they graduate. Senior citizens have options for survival that younger people simply do not have such as pensions, social security, help from children and grandchildren, etc. Wanting to learn something is fine, but why can't they just audit courses instead of enrolling?

  • @ryan33bttm I resent you speaking for someone whose shoes you are most certainly not in.

  • @ryan33bttm Why do you assume they take financial aid or scholarship money away from younger people? More like than not elderly people have money saved up to spend on their tution, books etc. I can think of a lot worse things an elderly person can spend their money and time on. Stop worrying about what someone else does and concern yourself with your life. If more people did that we wouldn't have so many problems in this world.

  • Now I'm just wondering: where's the pride in taking 73 surplus years to graduate college? Or maybe I just don't know the whole story.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 It's never too late to do something you want to do, that's the message. Don't spend your whole life being a dick head.

  • That is inspirational. And, yet, I have people criticizing me for pursuing a BS in business at 30 years of age, even though I have a BA in sociology already. She sets a positive example for people to get anything they want at any age.

  • I hope I too can finish my arrear exams and get that BE degree.finished four years and got another four years to try.Gotta finish it within 1 year though.I don't really have this kind of time ;)

  • Steven spielberg finished his degree 35 years after film school! But this granny is extreme!

  • She is now the oldest person to receive her masters degree at 98 years old From FHSU.

  • Jack LaLanne is 95 and in wonderful health. He still exercises two hours every day and speaks to groups about fitness all over the world. This lady looks like she took care of her health well.

  • Hey Bigyoungbubba2007, truth is, school is EASIER when you go back older because the real world will have probably given you much worse than could ever happen in an air conditioned school room:) Go for it, way to go Nola.

  • It's never too late to do what you want to in life. Go Nola! :)

  • i don't feel so bad now i started college at 20 because i graduated high school and sat out a semester. I though i was old.

  • she has an degree that she can't use.

  • knowledge is used every day

  • she didn't just go to college- she's become an inspiration to many!

  • no kidding

  • wow, she looks really young for 95!

  • Impressive. ok maybe 30 isn't too old to go back to school.

  • I wonder who's the oldest high school graduate.......

  • @bigyoungbubba2007 Not at all. In this economy, many people have to train for new careers. Even 20 yrs. ago, I was surprised to find many people in night classes who were even older than I.
