As a professor (although I teach History rather than English), I have heard all of these excuses far too many times. It demonstrates the difference between wanting a degree and wanting an education. Too many students today do not recognize that distinction!
This is quite a characteristic of this new generation breed of young selfish kids who thinks everyone owes them an education and free life... What horrible generation..... I'm afraid about tomorrow.... Can you imagine 10 years from now... What about your kids.... Homeschool anyone?
"I'm doing well in all my other classes." I love that [specious] argument. If I only had a dollar...
Where does this shared rhetoric of failure come from? How is it rewarded by peers to the point that students think it'll fly with their instructors? /sigh
@2053tee You're the student in this video. :)

I taught English this past semester and already I'm getting the emails from students who wondered why they got a D, and I mark easy!

Hilarious. The handgun waiting period thing is awesome. The Entitlement Generation strikes again.

This only "sucks" if you are this student, otherwise, THIS IS COMPLETELY ACCURATE AND EVERY TEACHER CAN RELATE.
