A true force in music to contend with, still touring today as" The Girls From Philly" if you have a chance to catch them they still don't skip a beat!
SO CLASSY AND ELEGANT. NOT TRASHY LIKE TODAYS FEMALES TRY AND BE. SEEMS TODAY THEY SELL GARBAGE AND PUT A TRASHY FEMALE TO SELL THE GARBAGE MUSIC. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE KIDS TODAY WHO HAVE TO LISTEN TO TODAYS GARBAGE.
I love Fayette's little addendum of "Yeah!" at the end of 2nd verse..."can't you seeeeeeeeee Yeahh!" Cute! The harmonies on this live performance sound even better than the record. These ladies were such professionals..
Always loved this group; still do, but always hated this lyric. Just plain awful. A beautiful vocal performance virtually ruined by a God-awful lyric. That rap just makes the experience even more torturous.
These lyrics were awful back in the day and they are still awful. Like fingernails on a chalkboard. But those harmonies . . . still no escaping them. Love, love, love to hear these women sing together.
Have to agree glxy55. We can thank Gamble and Huff for writing such mysogynistic lyrics for them. The only thing that allows me to listen to this song now (and even back then), was the tight harmonies...even as a kid I was mesmerized by their harmonies on this song that I'd suffer through those horrible lyrics just to hear their blended voices.
Super, loved this show and the Three Deegres. Thank you!
