It's just where you look to find your music. Nas, Styles P, Jadakiss, Jay Electronica, Masta Ace, Wu Tang, Termanology, and hundreds more of US rappers are still dropping classics. We call it UK hiphop, because we are proud that it is from the UK! We have to put ourselves in a different sub genre because of the unbelievable amount of plastic to come out of the states. Of course the us is responsible for the greats and has an incredible hip hop history and i don't try to deny it... ever!! ..but your point about image, is exactly why we seperate ourselves from america.
