If you build a windmill or turbine hooked to a air pump and install disk diffuser's with 3/4" line 20' in from each corner you won't have a need to circulate the water. The air will circulate it for you. The smaller the bubbles the better!
@copperheadmarine hey look mon- never get really drunk and load a mess of silver bars in a rowboat and go play pirate on yer pond. whats gonna happen if you do that is the boats gonnna capsize. All that metal will be lost. You won';t know where it is I know it works this way- happened to me.
my pond was 23 ft deep about 1/3 of a acre and filled up on me over night it rained 27 inches in 24 hrs filling it before i could finish, I am going to expand it and when i do I will add two 1 inch pipes one to recirculate and treat the water from the lowest spot the other add oxygen, you can tasted the difference in the fish, and see and smell the difference in the clarity of the water.
@m0t0cr0ss17 The ground water here is right on the surface in this spot. No water runs in but from the ground. I need to know a little about the Loacation to be able to help you. static ground water level, soil type, is there a ditch or a wet spot near by?
@copperheadmarine haha i have no clue man, we live in southwest virginia its on a 30 acre spot and the closest water around to us is probably 200 yards down we have a river on the far side of our land. i was just hoping to dig some sort of pond on the oppsite end to swim in, have an irrigation system for motocross tracks, and other recoreational stuff. its just a big field really its all flat and has hay on it right now
Amazing job guys and the finished product is beautiful i done a lil work on our pond with my D3CLgp dozer. How deep did yall end up making it looked to be 8 to 15 toward the end.
The clearing moved allong pretty good but it all was done on matts" logs that had be cleared". You could not get off of them at all or you were sunk! Getting the layer of muck out was miserable and took weeks. We moved more dirt in a week once we had got all the muck out than we had in the previous 3 to 4 weeks. Then we spent a few days sopeing grading and laying sod. We also spread all of the dirt and muck and grubbed the roots as we went. Put the dock and spillway in too.
Yes, but after we finnished, we all agreed we wouldn't want to do another like it! You just had to fight that muck every single day. It wouldn't stack and wanted to run back in the hole. popped the tailgate on the truck open all the time!
Ya I definitely would not want to work in muck like that either. It looks like the stuff that swallows people up to there neck and traps them. Whats the soil like down there? clay? Sand? etc?
We have every kind os soil here but bedrock. You have to go about 60 mile West to hit rock. The coast has some Cocina" Fossilized coral rock" They make crusher run out of it called Marine Base. But this farm was almost dead sand just like cement sand. A couple of miles down the road is clay. We have coxil or gumbo kind of like modlers clay...not worth a shit! The best soil around here is called Lakeland Sand kind of a sandclay with more red sand than clay. Packs good and wont hold water.
Thanks, with that layer of muck we had to fight for every cubic yard of material. Once we got throug it the work moved along so much better. You could not get it to stay, it just ran back in the hole. We dug a hole, transfered the muck into it and then into the truck.
Its static ground water level, but it run in like hell! We dug untill the pump couldnt keep up. when the water hit the fan of the 750 we were done digging. The water rose about 9 to 10 feet in a few days. Ehen it was checked before the fish were planted it was well water quality!
Awsome video! Now stock it with talapia or trout and start a fish farm!
