Your tone of Libertarian, blame America first isolationist attitude is a bigger threat to the American people's freedom and safety than you'd like to admit to. Anyone with haf a brain knows that the Islamic Totalitarianists hate western society because of our (implicit) value of freedom and life (used to be much more explicit) and our denial of Sharia law as legitimate in any way shape or form. We could pull out all our military forces and the Islamo fascists would still despise us.
Twiggy, Firstly, you can't really, REALLY think that the of people in Afghanistan hate us because we love our freedom and our lives. That just doesn't make sense. I'm sure they would rather just be left alone (real freedom) and make a living (their life). Do YOU hate them because they want freedom and life? Of course not!
If you really, REALLY believe that, then I am thinking that "haf a brain" isn't a typo.
Country of origin has little to do with the big picture honestly, I think we're looking at this War with too fine of a comb. A few thousand Islamic fundamentalists manage to kill a few thousand US citizens, their perceived enemies, after having watched hundreds of thousands of Middle Easterners die through decades of US military actions overseas. That is why, they say, the US military must now escalate these actions.
"Moral high ground." What a joke.
"America" is a vague basket term for hundreds of millions of people with little to nothing in common. It doesn't need to acknowledge anything. Nor can it.
On the contrary, islamic fundamentalism is much more of a precise term to use to describe the enemy than "Terrorist" is. That would be like saying our enemy in WWII were kamakazi fighters. Sure, it was a tactic used, but it would have been a terrible way to describe our enemy.

Anyways, from Stef's reply quote : "Not one of the 9/11 hijackers was from Afghanistan"
Is a convenient way of side stepping the issue that this is not a war based on geographical boundaries (i.e. it's the Afghani people, is the Iraqi's etc who are our enemy) it is any person who believes in Islamic totalitarianism, and jihad
Osama been never indicted by the US government for 911 and he is not even a suspect of that attack! FBI chief Robert Muller said they have no evidence of Osama involved in that attack. Please visit FBI webpage and see it for yourself. 911 was a Israely false flag operation helped by the US flunkeys therefore the total war on terra is fraud. You make the Muslim of your enemy by your own evil deed in Palestine and you are using american Christian to do your dirty job and grab more land.
Again, trying to divert the conversation by targeting specific individuals, or countries is simply a way of avoiding the underlying premise.
You do this because if you don't, you would be forced to defend the Religious zealots and tyrannical dictators of the Muslim world, and I know you don't want to go there. The interesting thing is that you hate America so much that you would rather ignore these 7th century savages so you can focus your attetion on the great satan USA.
Abu Hurairah (R.A.) says that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "(Armies carrying) Black Flags will come from Khorasan. No power will be able to stop them and they will finally reach Eelya إيلياء (Jerusalem) where they will erect their flags". (Tirmizi)
The people of Afghanistan are the "Lost tribe of Israel" and they are the rightful owner of Palestine beside the local Palestinians! Thats why they were targeted throughout history in order to stop them approaching Jerusalem !!
@Twiggy269 lol, and your credibility is what exactly? please don't tell me you believe the government 9/11 fairy tale-some mouth breathing bedouins in Aghanistan who literally eat with one hand and wipe their asses with the other planned and executed the attack? Are you serious?
It is a good video, but it IS capitalism in the background, I just do not find convincing that "state capitalism" is worst than the idealistic lullaby of the self-organizing and self-sustaining, and supposedly omnipotent free market capitalism. I agree with everything else you said.
The word "capitalism" is usually taken to mean what you're calling "free market capitalism." State capitalism isn't capitalism in this sense. It's mercantilism.
I understand advocates of the free market can seem pretty wonky a lot of the time. But I doubt any of them would call the market omnipotent. Optimal is the good word for it, I'd think. Amazing, as well?
Consider this. Almost all the technology you use to post a comment on YouTube was developed exclusively by free market forces.
Technology nor democracy is inherently part of capitalism. Of course in our times technology is delivered by capitalism, what else? In reality technology is given by creativity, knowledge and learning, it doesn't matter in what socio-economic milieu it has to function. If you meant that the mass-access to things is made possible by capitalism, here and now, then I agree. Yet capitalism can also be a detriment to progressive scientific and technological progress, making them depending on demand.
For me state "mercantilism" and mercantilism as such as it presents itself in free market are sharing the same roots, they are founded on the same basic logic of functioning.
Many, too many things become corrupted, vulgarized and their real meaning leveled to consumerist standards. When science depends on the money of those who seek technology only for profit what emerges is: lot of junk, and many sciences abandoned because unprofitable.
By the way, most things we use are made by the Chinese,
I think you may find that the main difference between "State Mercantilism" and "The Free Market", is that the 1st depends upon "The GUN", and the 2nd relies upon peaceful, voluntary interactions. Also don't confuse the products of THEFT with peacefully gained PROFIT..In the State model of Mercantilism, corperations, call theft--PROFIT.
One cannot wage war under present conditions without the support of public opinion, which is tremendously molded by the press and other forms of propaganda - General Douglas MacArthur.
@Bowdeen Yes, it was an attack on the economy. Go read the declassified documents about CIA training Afghan troops to fight Soviet Russia, it's not exactly a secret strategy. 9/11 created the public opinion that allowed America to go to War. America inflates the currency (because people would notice direct taxation, but the wealth is gone either way) and the wealth is destroyed by cheap weaponary and guerilla warfare. Plane=$10,000,000, Surface-to-Air Missile= $100,000... do the Maths.
I have yet to claim to be smart. I understand the theory of relativity, I could never discover it. I understand the superiority of Anarchism and accepting the truth about America's life long war in the middle east, but I could hardly conceive it. I'm hardly led around, this understanding isn't exactly mentioned ever in my daily life. However, I did take the time to read official al qaeda material and read CIA information on Afghan training, perhaps you should before commenting that it's wrong.
I also don't remember saying i knew everything about the CIA. I do remember refering to one empiricaly released fact, and your claim that they don't tell me anything more means that their is more information, not less. You do not deny my points, only pretend them away because you don't like them, and that's just not mature. The fact is, whether they released the information to play up to people like me, the technique being used by the Afghans is well known, it's not even questionable!
What opinion. I repeat, you don't have to read opinion, or interpretation to learn any of this. Read the original Al Qaeda and CIA documents. I'm not barking up any tree, I have no interest in any of this statist war rubbish and stay far away from it, so grow up pretending to have some elightened comprehension. Again, I didn't stumble upon anything, PhD's aren't unaware, and having a PhD has nothing todo with this, don't glorify intellectuals, you child. Again, what opinion? Official documents.
I am so sorry. I reall feel for you and your dead mind. I hope that you can find consolidation in your illussion, because you will never find freedom or happiness when you cling to imaginary arguments and falsehoods that you clearly know aren't true.
And of course.. when did i Say I have all the answers? All I know about the terrorists motives is exactly what they say, nothing more. That includes their method of warfare, which they have admitted, and which is identical to that technique claimed by the CIA (not that this matters, you can see the obvious devistating effect yourself), and so I dont understand what youre even questioning with your sarcasm. Anyone can do the MathS. It's obvious, defense is cheap, attack is expensive.
Telling someone to (Do the math) as you did is sarcasm at its highest The point is this is an oppion Your Oppion not known fact
Have you ever wondered with all the PHDs out there that YOU stumbled on the truth of the matter That only You have seen thru all the smoke and behind the mirrors But it was nice of you to share your OPPION with us
Thank you! I love hearing honesty about our gov't and somebody else spreading the word that war is ONLY for profit for very few people, and the expense is on the hapless people.
Please mind the war profits of the private money creators in London. The western governments need their phony fiat money to maintain the war in Afghanistan. This war was created by the private money creators in London, by the same people who orchestrated 9/11.
From the outset, we have made it clear that construction of the pipeline we have proposed across Afghanistan could not begin until a recognized government is in place that has the confidence of governments, lenders, and our company.
Because the U.S. Soldier is someone's son or daughter and they do not always believe the bullshit from the white house thats why, they are people, human being putting their life on th eline for what they believe is the freedom for the nation, but in reality,,they are feeding the industrial military complex...creating destruction and death...using the U.S. soldiers as muscle to get their agenda done. thats why....if you have any more questions you can check out my channel....have a nice day.
you are correct about the dominos, and no sir they are not stupid and what you will find is that the comabt soldier on the ground will agree with you and he will ask you ...What are we doing here? But the guys at the top are using the soldiers as muscle to steal the natural resources. I know that...but dont get down on joe out there trying to stay alive until his tour is up ok...Ill post a vidoe response to make things a little more clear. We are on the same sheet of music..Rope-a-dope..man!
In order to follow that train of thought one needs to prove that any profit has been made from natural resources. And it has not. All theory no substance.

Good morning, first lets remember to never ever speak with poorly about the U.S. soldier! No matter how you feel about the War, the soldier is the guy who doesnt have a choice now, he will trian, he will fight, and he will die...no matter who is running the white house, but this War is for profit, and they are trying to strip afghanistan of its natural resources, our govt is evil and tyrannical and would rob from the own mothers. god save the republic.
I hate to say it, and out of respect, I don't run around saying it to the military people I know or meet, but they're the ones dumb enough to raise their hands and say "I'd like to bring the US to financial collapse by killing foreign people, and I'd like to risk my own life doing so".
Let's raise the question "What if no one volunteered into this stupidity?". Part of me wonders if it isn't the soldiers fault entirely. Where would the military be without them? This ain't conscription into Nam.
I personally think Al-Qaeda is led by a group of non-muslim arabics with training and personal contact with the CIA(especially) and other black-ops from various nations in the EU/UN/NATO; to do the old dance of debasement under the premise of waging war against an economy that is being led into destruction from within by a false incompetency. Consolidate all enemies into a friendship(love of money, power and bitches =D ) because they have a common enemy.....peasants with history & without time.
That was powerful, Stef. I've had thoughts of my own similar to it, but I attributed it to schadenfreude concerning the economic collapse of the government and not as a direct link to the government's collapse or to the people in Afghanistan.
I was wondering if you could post some references to where you get this information. Perhaps on the boards somewhere? I'm just interested to know where you source it all.
The reason McCrystal wants more is because in the military asking for more is never bad. If people say yes and you win you're vindicated. If they say yes and you lose you either say you needed even more or you say that you would have lost worse if you didn't have the extra. If they say no and you lose well pass the blame. if they say no and you win nobody will remember you asked for more than you needed.
Wed Dec 2, 2009, WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Top U.S. officials said the first of 30,000 new U.S. troops would arrive in Afghanistan in two to three weeks.

All is lost unless we elect Ron Paul. He alone has the moral courage to remove our troops from all theaters. All other politicians are too beholden to their special interest to do otherwise.
USA had no intention of beating Afghanistan. 3 main reasons to go there - Oil pipeline, maintain Opium supply to US and gateway to Pakistan.
Afghanistan isn't meant to end, just like Vietnam was never meant to end.
Taliban is very very small but is at least partially financed by US.
"insurgents" is not a good term for you to use. Maybe freedom fighters or patriots or something is more accurate. Remember Vietnamese were called insurgents - They f***n live there!
I have tried to work my way through some of your videos. Excellent stuff, but it's a bit like a kid in a sweet shop. Don't know where to begin. So much good stuff.
Hopefully your stuff will be on internet for a long time until I can work my way through it.
Take it easy, and don't worry too much - I'm sure your hair will grow back again.
Stef - of course your logic is very good, but the big picture seems to be nastier than you portray here.
If Brezinski tricked USSR to go into Afghanistan to bankrupt USSR, then why did he make USA go there unless he had the same intention.
As you know, thousands of US soldiers dead and wounded is tragic, but why do MOST videos on Youtube only mention US troops casualties and not the huge number of civilians.
This is quite a scary idea that there is very little empathy for poor victims
I agree with some of your points, but I also believe that Obama's initiative has A LOT to do with nukes. ((((Wait))))) I agree with some of your points, but I also believe that Bin Laden's (sp) initiative has A LOT to do with nukes.

Stef, perhaps you'll get a clue and revise your perception of the US govt. and its competence and militaristic endeavors when it starts to replace its "missing" military here in the states with UN brand soldiers.
Hey guys. I this quote from the Information Clearing House (dot)com and I remember this as clear as day:
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank. "

Is a convenient way of side stepping the issue that this is not a war based on geographical boundaries (i.e. it's the Afghani people, is the Iraqi's etc who are our enemy) it is any person who believes in Islamic totalitarianism, and jihad
Twiggy269 1 year ago
@Twigg

@partridgecaravan

It is a good video, but it IS capitalism in the background, I just do not find convincing that "state capitalism" is worst than the idealistic lullaby of the self-organizing and self-sustaining, and supposedly omnipotent free market capitalism. I agree with everything else you said.
eydos 2 years ago
The word "capitalism" is usually taken to mean what you're calling "free market capitalism." State capitalism isn't capitalism in this sense. It's mercantilism.
I understand advocates of the free market can seem pretty wonky a lot of the time. But I doubt any of them would call the market omnipotent. Optimal is the good word for it, I'd think. Amazing, as well?
Consider this. Almost all the technology you use to post a comment on YouTube was developed exclusively by free market forces.
lnd3005 2 years ago 4
Technology nor democracy is inherently part of capitalism. Of course in our times technology is delivered by capitalism, what else? In reality technology is given by creativity, knowledge and learning, it doesn't matter in what socio-economic milieu it has to function. If you meant that the mass-access to things is made possible by capitalism, here and now, then I agree. Yet capitalism can also be a detriment to progressive scientific and technological progress, making them depending on demand.
eydos 2 years ago
For me state "mercantilism" and mercantilism as such as it presents itself in free market are sharing the same roots, they are founded on the same basic logic of functioning.
Many, too many things become corrupted, vulgarized and their real meaning leveled to consumerist standards. When science depends on the money of those who seek technology only for profit what emerges is: lot of junk, and many sciences abandoned because unprofitable.
By the way, most things we use are made by the Chinese,

good vid, but can you make a vid going more involed into the economy-al qaeda connection
verdaccio 2 years ago 2
I think you may find that the main difference between "State Mercantilism" and "The Free Market", is that the 1st depends upon "The GUN", and the 2nd relies upon peaceful, voluntary interactions. Also don't confuse the products of THEFT with peacefully gained PROFIT..In the State model of Mercantilism, corperations, call theft--PROFIT.

I can see how that would cause a housing market melt down
Your smarter than you look
Bowdeen 2 years ago
@Bowdeen Yes, it was an attack on the economy. Go read the declassified documents about CIA training Afghan troops to fight Soviet Russia, it's not exactly a secret strategy. 9/11 created the public opinion that allowed America to go to War. America inflates the currency (because people would notice direct taxation, but the wealth is gone either way) and the wealth is destroyed by cheap weaponary and guerilla warfare. Plane=$10,000,000, Surface-to-Air Missile= $100,000... do the Maths.
DreadLaw2 2 years ago 2
It is too bad for us that you are not as smart as you think you are
Your being led around by the nose like the rest Declassified documents Please
You will not find out anything they don't want you to know
But I will pass it along that YOU have all the Answers and can do math
Bowdeen 2 years ago
I have yet to claim to be smart. I understand the theory of relativity, I could never discover it. I understand the superiority of Anarchism and accepting the truth about America's life long war in the middle east, but I could hardly conceive it. I'm hardly led around, this understanding isn't exactly mentioned ever in my daily life. However, I did take the time to read official al qaeda material and read CIA information on Afghan training, perhaps you should before commenting that it's wrong.
DreadLaw2 2 years ago

It's obvious, defense is cheap, attack is expensive.

you are correct about the dominos, and no sir they are not stupid and what you will find is that the comabt soldier on the ground will agree with you and he will ask you ...What are we doing here?

Hi Stef
Good vid - Ta
USA had no intention of beating Afghanistan. 3 main reasons to go there - Oil pipeline, maintain Opium supply to US and gateway to Pakistan.
Afghanistan isn't meant to end, just like Vietnam was never meant to end.
Taliban is very very small but is at least partially financed by US.
"insurgents" is not a good term for you to use. Maybe freedom fighters or patriots or something is more accurate. Remember Vietnamese were called insurgents - They f***n live there!

Cheers
