  • corrupt mexicans, what else is new..

  • where was he hit? Can anyone show me the minutes and seconds he was struck?

  • where was he hit? Can anyone show me the minutes and seconds he was struck?

  • We are ruled by terrorists! They keep the world living in fear of a persistent enemy (terrorism), while claiming that if we put our faith in them, they can make us safe. Are we really safe? Are we safe from the terrorists that we trust, that we elect?

Numerous governments of this world are nothing more than terrorist organizations. Unfortunately, that includes the UN and the United States government.

Yes, both the UN and the United States Federal Government are terrorist organizations.

  • Those U.N.-human bastards...

  • Driving off in a treehugger ecobus is the tragic irony of this situation

  • ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS

  • ok we're living in a fascist world - if it weren't for united states the world would be free

  • FUCK THE NAZIST UN

how can a UN armed officer beat someone,WHO gives him the authority over other people???

  • Fuck UN

  • I would also like to point out that the restricted definition of "beating" that has been suggested, hitting or striking, is actually rather low on the scale of pain and violence that can be inflicted. Not the 'come-along' being used by the cop behind him. Violent crushing or twisting of the hand/fingers, as well as hyper-extension of the shoulder is literally torturous. It is the use of blinding pain from soft tissue damage to force someone to do what you want.

  • @KellyLogan It's not restricted definition, just the correct definition; look up beat in the dictionary.

  • @Secundas - If you have a better description of physical damage and pain caused by the use of force, please feel free to suggest it. What we saw was that the journalist was in pain, that the police were trying to pull him away from the window and were willing to use extreme force to do so. We also saw that police both in and outside the bus worked to prevent any recording of their actions. The police bear the burden to prove that violence was necessary.

  • Looks like they were asphyxiate him.

  • Does anyone have an update as to what happened afterwards with the arrest? Reuters takes good care of their own and I'm curious as to what the story was post-video event.

  • How exactly is this a "beating?" Am I missing some pixels or frames on this video?

  • im not saying its okay..but calling it a beating is seriously stretching the story..how about being accurate?

  • There is absolutely no "beating" in this video, just struggle because he was resisting. Maybe he had a valid reason to resist, maybe not. Maybe his detainment was just, maybe it wasn't. Until you know what was going on, don't make assumptions about who was right or wrong.

  • @Secundas If there is no beating (see 0:10 onward) then why are they trying to block the camera from outside and inside the bus? If the police is only detaining they shoudn't have a problem with people watching or filming.

  • @mulenga99 Beat means to hit, strike, kick etc. That does not happen here. They were trying to restrain his arms; he was resisting. Period. Nobody beats him in this clip. The title of the video is an exaggeration.

Was he being treated unfairly? Perhaps. What happened to him after they covered the window? I don't know. Again, assumptions. If the journalist has actually has a story about how he was abused and treated unlawfully, I'm sure he'll publish it soon.

  • It's nice to see the media get their ass kicked, maybe they will start reporting the truth instead of the usual bullshit. Once the tyrants have full control, they will not need a large mass of media or thousands of reporters, they will make a one world media with other tyrants like themselves and put out any bullshit they find convenient.

    Peace

  • They were barely trying to "contain" him. You can also clearly see the reporter was resisting. Why doesnt the title say "Reporter Resists and Threatens UN Guards"

  • The more I see things like this, the less respect I have for the UN.

  • hijos de perra! pero esos guardias son de la UN.. apoco pueden hacer eso aqui en México??? y como termino el asunto?

  • hijos de perra! pero esos guardias son de la UN.. apoco pueden hacer eso aqui en México???

  • Might not be a Rodney King style beat down, but lets put you on a bus with a half dozen 300lb federales holding you down and screaming in your face, and see if you aren't intimidated.

I'm sure we don't have the whole story, but this is still an unacceptable way to treat an unarmed member of the press. Next thing you know, they'll be gunning them down from Apache helicopters....oh, wait....

  • my mom used to smack me harder than that.

    please, this is no beating.

  • @zirie So that makes it okay?

I hope your not American leaving a comment like that. But then again I wouldn't be surprised, since most of my countryman are just sitting by passively while our rights are being taken away. We even have so-called "Free Speech Zones", which is an oxymoron.

Anyway I think its pathetic to read submissive comments that defend the establishment by way of excusing them for how hard they hit someone instead of that fact that they are assaulting him. Just my 9 cents

  • @zirie ....sucks to be white trash !!!!

  • Ya basta!

  • The war on journalism rages on.

  • @HostileNegotiator "The war on journalism rages on." the media's controlled by the so-called elites. whatever they want to get out gets out.

  • Esto es la gran pendejada de quien tiene el poder de joder a otros.

  • i dont understnad whats going on here?

  • not really sure what i'm seeing here.

  • I can't stand to watch the abuse.

  • Well this is just sick. Power goes to cops heads way too fast.

  • A fine example of "killing the messanger". Thank god for, Democray Now! I'm sure this will never be shown on corporate run "news"...

  • whats the harm, at least they were on an ECOBUS 1:06. Imagine the damage if it was on a regular bus!!

  • Once you give a bunch of pussies some authority it is only a matter of time until they abuse it.

  • would be good to hear both sides of the story of course. Just imagine the guards had just said "Hey man - just stand up we wanna check you for weapons - nothing else!"

Of course one dosen't know any of this but would be interesting to get the whole story and not make a judgement based only on a few seconds images.

  • can't wait for the New World Order crazies to get ahold of this.

  • @rustedhope Really, it's crazy to believe that people in power aren't interested in consolidating that power globally? It's called an invasion. One country takes over a weaker one. The difference, is the powers that be are monetary powers. They influence the world to accumulate power. It actually makes sense that one need not wage in needless war to gain power anymore... You have the pawns for that task. Call it what you want, NWO, secret societies, whatever. Is it really that unbelievable?

  • if i'm not mistaken, this has been the deadliest year for reporters. this is absolutely unnecessary especially when the reporter is doing his freakin' job.

  • @DickOPlenty The paparazzi you mean?

  • @amazeblaze no, i don't mean just the paparazzi. the mainstream media is corrupt. they cover up all kinds of things while pretending to inform the public. get your news from alternative sources

  • Context? Why was the reporter gripping the bus seat and refusing to budge?

  • The New World Order. Same shit different pakage...

  • Clearly the overreacting guard is being called off by his colleague who thinks he's insane. That asshole clearly crossed the line, and needs to be held accountable, but you can't claim that one guard acting like a dick is evidence of endemic anti-media bias on behalf of the entire United Nations.

  • @gnaeiuopl It's certainly a valid argument that it's just one (as you are arguing, somewhat small) manifestation of larger issues which are in fact endemic to the UN and to the larger system than they are a part of. It seems much harder, in my opinion, to prove that the UN doesn't have an anti-media bias. They're just one of the organizations in a corrupt system that doesn't want the eyes of the media watching and he was just one guard that worked for them.

  • @gnaeiuopl - I did not see anything about "endemic, anti-media bias" here. Ths is just a report about what the guards were up to down there.

  • The establishment fears and hates the press.

  • thanks for posting the awful truth.

    things need to change.

  • United Nations brand democracy at work.
