I agree, Ralph is a bit of a male tease, I way he was kissing her, naturally Maggie thought he wanted to get romantic in the shed. He should have kissed her on the cheek chastely or just hugged her like a big brother. Good grief Ralph, you were kissing her neck.
This movie is deep and so goooooooooooood and I like the music and Barbara Stanwyck you rock. Also rich man poor man. East of Eden all good mini series I want in my collection.

He was a saint to have done what he did and loved her so deeply and so strongly and so purely for so long. Loving a woman who refused to love him back until it was too late. He deserved a better life, and a better fate.

She was too blinded by her past, her feelings for the Father of Frank and even Frank himself so realize she did love them. She let her feelings hold her back from loving them all-- especially Maggie. So, in some ways, it wasn't her fault. I don't agree with what she did, especially since it's the same thing my Grandma did to my Mom (and I mean the EXACT same thing), but.. I can see where Fee is coming from.

You would think Father Ralph would stop Meggie from unbuttoning his shirt since that is improper, but NO he lets her kiss his chest, let's face it he liked that ! Then he acts like a victim. get real.
She couldn't even be comforted by her mother, but I love the way the house "maid" or "helper" reaches over and puts her arms around her (the walking to the burial scene)...she's overlooked but has been there for Meggie. That part of the movie said so much. Very sad.
This has been getting me through my toughest point in my life...but this is real life. The same thing happend to my grandmother...and mom. Loosing one after another...and I live the life of loosing my one true love...a man whom I love so much and is taken from me.
