I agree. It's one thing to sit and ambush someone, but there's a broader range physical and mental competencies required for well-rounded soldiering. Health issues alone are a major detriment regarding females. And then there's the psychological component; some might be able in this regard, but statistically the odds are against them.

Think it was set up? It seems every year "new" holocaust survivors, secret missions, and people like this come out, only to later be found all of it was faked. She may or may not have done it, more than likely though its just more liberal media trying to get women to join the military. You imagine that there is some magical finish line the Germans could have reached to win but there never was which is why victory was impossible. How would the Russians have lost? Because the Germans could have reached Moscow? Like they say, In Russia there is always room for another battle.

China lost 7 to 16 million civillians, Russia12 to 14 million. Both of them were mainly due to the Axis.

@smoochym If you knew your history ww1 was not the war to introduce a new war casualty- civilian. It was the American Civil war that brought the war to towns instead of battlefields. The practiced loose formation meant that cities were burned and bombed where the military took their stands. ww1 just introduced bombing in a different way. Besides Italy used it before Germany. So you are wrong on both accounts, terror bombing and civilians being targeted.

I agree. It's one thing to sit and ambush someone, but there's a broader range physical and mental competencies required for well-rounded soldiering. Health issues alone are a major detriment regarding females. And then there's the psychological component; some might be able in this regard, but statistically the odds are against them.
It's not to say that she wasn't brave (assuming the story is true), but it's probably not realistic to extrapolate.
