  • COMIC SANS!!!

  • AWESOME !

  • The paint brush seems quite awkward. Would it be possible to add a series of simple levers on the right side to knock the balls out of the number slots?

  • that finale

  • do you sell your puzzles or the diagrams to make it your self?

as an electronics engineer i find this very fascinating.

  • @spiritualinsight Sorry, Add Up is not for sale, nor are the diagrams.

  • @OskarPuzzle I really hope you change your mind about this some day. I'd love to have this device as an interactive piece of decoration. If made in brass or something like that, it'd be a beautifully simple piece of engineering.

I've seen quite a lot of your puzzles, all wonderfully complex, but the simplicity of this one is quite appealing.

  • I have watched way too many of your videos, I want some of these things! great work sir!

  • I WANT TO BUY THIS

  • i wish there was a different way to reset them.

  • yeah, binary!

  • This device reminds me of plinko.

  • Balls of steel!

  • the second changlle,you can put 4+1+1

  • I am also interested in purchasing this puzzle if it ever becomes available.

  • and i think you say "two" like "too"

  • wow,nice toy,to for learning

  • wonder if you have grandchildren or very young relatives who are able to solve this puzzle...

  • Is there a way to purchase this as a thank you gift for my AP comp sci teacher?

  • @LEfriend Not at the moment, I am afraid ...

  • @OskarPuzzle

Araid of what? I'd consider buying this puzzle also.

  • If I ever have a child, I'll certainly want one of these.

  • the 2nd problem can be solved with 1 ball in the 4 and 2 in the 1 spot rigt?

  • not sure if i had a kid that he/she would care much for a binary adder at say age 6 which is say probably the age where u like to put balls in holes. and even then. marbles at age 6 is not the safest thing. choking hazard much?

  • There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't

  • Kan jij al je puzzels oplossen?

  • thats so awesome!

  • thats genius

  • ok he wins because he said he has steel balls haha:D

  • you, sir, are brilliant!

  • You should add a reset slider or somthing.

  • BINARY CODE FOR THE WIN...atually very handy in math u have 1,2,4,8,16so on,,,1+2=3 so theres noo need to have a 3 so u go to 4 and 1+2+4=7 so all you dont need a seven either you can hit all the numbers using binary u just need different cobinations, and what this man has done is make a binary adder using the laws of phsics...GENIUS

  • OMG THAT IS SOOOOOOOOOOO COOOL! I wish I got that as a kid

  • is this binary? i think it is

  • @danielcarmi305 Correct

  • the first that i lose, is that tose balls

  • Nice design. I like that the balls are the only moving parts. And it looks very easy to manufacture.

  • what about 4+1+1 for the second one?

  • @coolslyfox123 I think I can answer this:

    4+1+1= 6

it should display one on the 4 columm and one on the 2 column. 4+2=6

    Help?

  • @Haguatchi well he needs one on the end

  • this is binary is it not?

  • This puzzle looks like a lot of fun to play with!

  • Is it me or is this not making any sense? You put a ball in number 4 then number 1 and another one in number 1. How does this help with maths? -,-

  • @TheSerialePL Binary adding. A ball in hole 4 has value "4". If you add four balls in hole one, then you'll end up with one ball in hole 4.

  • @TheSerialePL They are mechanical T flip-flops. I really like this, most of them involve moving parts, but this one is completely static.

  • @TheSerialePL my god. if there's a ball on 4, and a ball in 1..... you got 4 balls.... you ad 1... how many do you have...

the ball thats in the 4 marker has a value of 4 balls, just because its only one ball, doest mean it has less value.

  • @Skitzo520 the ball in the 4 marker is only 1 ball.

  • "start with two balls"

  • do you sell this?

  • is it just me, or does this puzzle make no mathmatical sense?

  • @SuprGoodProductions This puzzle is a binary add-er.

  • good one oskar

  • does the paint brush come with it lol

  • Mr. van Deventer, you're a genius. I'm a woodworker and would be honored to help you with any future projects!!

  • Leuk!

Goed idee om dat zo te doen!

    Mischien toch een reset mechanisme!?

  • steel balls for the win

  • how many challenges are available for this puzzle?

  • @MrMegaGigaTeraPeta As many additions and subtractions that you can think of with the numbers 1 - 31.

  • @OskarPuzzle 2048

  • this thing shows how you can turn any number into binary

  • I love such things :)

  • I'm 20, and I don't think I could do that. O.o

  • Awesome idea!

How do you think this all up? By yourself? It's a really cool puzzle. You sell them too?

  • pretty cool!

it really needs a reset mechanism though!

  • The reset should run on Connect 4 technology. Play on a thin glass table. XD

  • Fantastic. Where can I purchase one?

  • nice resseting motion, PAINTBRUSH!

  • matthiasandel made one already

  • Yes, that is why this is a video response to his invention. Mine has a different mechanism with fewer moving parts, namely only the balls.

  • nice

  • BALLS OF STEEL

  • Wow, this is the most elegant adding machine i've seen so far.

    Excellent design.

  • Will any of your puzzles be at the next IPP?

  • Nice puzzle you got there, Oskar!

  • Good for teaching children binary, but i think it really needs a better way of resetting heh.
