well after nearly ruining my comp outa stupidity i lucked out on finding out there was a .exe fixing registry i could download which saved my stupid ass. anyways i pretty much stopped all the "av" stuff running during my ie or firefox startups and now it's no longer bugging me but I know the program is still in my computer and I cannot see it no matter what. my superantispyware didn't spot it and it simply seems not to exist. I got the 2010 version of it as I just learned, i fixed the registries
heh nvm all i gotta do now is get rid of the av.exe and i should have won my war of me vs virus+my own stupidity. Next time I will know better though. Learning from mistakes!
it is....u just dont reconize it....i see av.exe....this is royally a pain in the ass....previously i was able to get by going into start up settings "msconfig" and disable it from starting up when i boot pc.....was fine enough for me, but this time i cant even do that
fuck, i'm getting a gazillion popups and most of them try to look like my system telling me that I have an infection. Something in my bottom right toolbar says my computer is infect, and it leads to a download site for this program! GAAAH!
Weini18: Antivirus XO PRo? HELL NO! Its fake and scews up ur computer with registries that make ur computer screw up. dont download it, I prefer AVG Free. Although Antivirus XP Pro could be a cool trick torwards a friend.
Thank you, I got that working. But now I cannot find the hidden files in My Computer. I know how to make them appear, but now the 'Folder Options' is gone.
I heard there was a way to access them by typing 'regedit' in run, but the virus will not let it happen. I have found the location through System Configuration Utility, I just cannot get there.
I have tried the "remove restrictions tool" but none of the ones available work unless I buy the latest version, and I don't want to pay. The copy/paste thing worked with getting Task Manager available, but nothing else.
do a windows repair install as explained in the article . Or Press F8 during restart, till you get a boot menu, then select the option that says "restore computer to the last working configuration"
i like how this fucking thing stops .exe files from being executed.

I bought Spyware Doctor today to get rid of this thing. It cost me 40 bucks, but it was well worth it.

if you look at the article link at the top right on this page, you will see different ways to re-enable the task manager
srajure 3 years ago
I tried the other shortcut keys, but they have been disabled by the virus. I also tried the Zenturi Program Checker but it does not show processes.

sorry , the task manager enable paragraph was missing in the article, i have added it, please see the link again

did you try the UnhookExec tool from symantec?
srajure 2 years ago
I would try that but now my computer just logs off by itself right after I log on, so I cannot do anything. Is there a way to fix that?
